Ped, Burk and Mr. Reliable kick off this episode wondering what Adam's cows think of him. The boys then take it back to the 2000s with The Rejects! The Jonas Brothers bring unexpected division to the podcast. Sarah Jessica Parker lied right to our faces. More awkward adult behavior on social media. Is it weird to call your in-laws mom and dad? Adam is heavily bothered by some bad grammar. Brett then hosts a game of Limerick Movie Trivia that has the boys befuddled. We close the show listening to a classic sound from the 90s. Love you all.

It's a vital part of life. It saves us from getting hit by cars, it helps us focus on – solving problems. It's also doing things to – keep your roots solid; breathing, sleeping, exercise, all of it.” — Jordan Friedman [0:38:34] “Reliable, predictable things in your life, [like] going to bed and waking up at the same time each day, – will help counter a lot of the lack of predictability that causes so much stress in the world.” — Jordan Friedman [0:44:09]   Watch our Finding Brave episodes on YouTube! National Broadband Ireland (NBI), the company delivering the Government's National Broadband Plan (NBP), has today announced that over 125,000 premises across Ireland are now connected to its high-speed fibre broadband network. There are now 361,101 homes, farms and businesses that have been passed with NBI fibre out of the 564,000 currently included in the NBP Intervention Area. People living and working in the rollout area can connect to high-speed fibre broadband on the NBI Network through a choice of 50 different broadband providers actively selling on the network. Everyone can enter their Eircode on the NBI website, www.nbi.ie, to see if their home or business is included in the rollout, as well as seeing the broadband providers offering high-speed fibre connectivity in their area. As the rollout phase of NBI's network nears completion, take-up rates continue to grow. NBI has now completed the preliminary survey works required for the entire Intervention Area and the rollout is on track to pass over 420,000 premises by the end of this year. More than 125,000 premises have now connected to the NBI Network, with the average take-up rate of 35% well ahead of projections and international comparisons. The connection rate surpasses 50% in areas where the NBI Network has been live for longer. Minister for Arts, Culture, Communications, Media and Sport, Patrick O'Donovan TD, said: "This milestone underlines the Government's commitment to ensuring that every corner of the State has access to world-class digital infrastructure. With over 125,000 connections now live under the National Broadband Plan, we are seeing the benefits of this investment throughout rural Ireland. "Whether it's supporting remote working, helping local businesses expand, or giving students new ways to learn, high-speed broadband is transforming lives and unlocking new opportunities for communities across the country." David McCourt, Chairman, National Broadband Ireland said: "The National Broadband Plan is providing rural Ireland with the same access to digital opportunities as our cities. With 125,000 premises already connected to the NBI Network, this project is making a tangible difference to rural areas that have been anticipating reliable, high-speed connectivity. "In every decision that NBI has taken to deliver the Irish Government's National Broadband Plan, we've provided a blueprint for other nations to follow on their path to full fibre connectivity and that includes our unique approach to educating consumers and creating demand for services on our network." Peter Hendrick, Chief Executive Officer, National Broadband Ireland, said: "This is a proud moment for NBI and communities across Ireland as 125,000 homes, farms and businesses are now connected to our world-class fibre broadband network. "These connections are already making a significant difference - enabling remote working, online learning, digital entrepreneurship, and so much more. The demand is strong, and we're focused on maintaining momentum and delivering access to even more people this year." Maximising Uptime and Efficiency: The Role of Gearless Mill Drives in Modern Mining Operations

In this episode, we chat with Wilson Monteiro, Global Business Line Manager for Gearless Mill Drives at ABB who are a leading provider of technologies and solutions for various industries, such as mining in motion, process and robotics. Wilson tells us about ABB, gearless technology, predictive maintenance, automation, digitalisation, and much more around the process and technology space. KEY TAKEAWAYS Wilson has a diverse background in electrical engineering, sales, and management, with extensive experience in automation and artificial intelligence. His career has spanned various roles at ABB and other companies, leading to his current position managing the gearless mill drive business globally. Uptime is critical in the mining industry, not only for profit but also for sustainability. Keeping machinery operational minimises CO2 emissions and maximises the efficiency of existing assets, which is increasingly important as the industry faces pressure to reduce emissions and improve productivity. Gearless mill drives (GMDs) are highlighted as a more energy-efficient solution compared to traditional technologies, offering up to 3.6% energy savings. This efficiency is significant when considering the large number of GMDs in operation globally, contributing to lower carbon footprints in mining operations. The shift towards integrated electrification, automation, and digitalisation is essential for modern mining operations. This integration leads to safer operations, fewer personnel on-site, and improved communication between systems, ultimately enhancing productivity and safety. Predictive maintenance, powered by AI, allows for proactive management of equipment by using real-time data to anticipate issues before they occur. This approach not only extends the life of machinery but also enhances operational efficiency and safety by reducing unexpected breakdowns. BEST MOMENTS "Uptime used to be all about profit. Today, it's about sustainability, too. Even a small hiccup can mean millions in lost production." "GMDs cut out mechanical losses because there is no gearbox or coupling. That alone gives you up to 3.6% energy savings." "It's not cost versus reliability. They go hand in hand. Reliable systems mean fewer unexpected shutdowns, which means fewer people exposed to risk." "Historically, mining has always been an industry slow to adopt change. There's a "Today, I can see some companies moving in a different pattern. Tech Quebrada Blanca is one of them; they have the best approach for operating a mine." Think DNA evidence always means someone's guilty? Think again!Fresh off a hearing where I examined multiple DNA experts, both for the defense and the prosecution, I want to break down the common misconceptions and hidden complexities surrounding DNA today. With technology now able to detect just the tiniest traces—sometimes as little as 20 cells—the interpretation of DNA evidence has become far less straightforward than many believe.I share real-world examples, including cases where innocent people were implicated simply because their DNA was found in unexpected places, often due to accidental transfer. My main takeaway? DNA evidence isn't always the slam dunk it's made out to be. It's more important than ever to bring in experts and scrutinize every detail when DNA becomes a factor in a case. But that single innovation made him a billionaire. Dell's innovation was to bring tested, reliable, proven methods of cost-cutting to the manufacturing and distribution of computers. When all his competitors were selling through retailers, Dell sold direct to consumer. This made his costs lower and his profits higher.Michael Dell's strengths are discipline, professionalism, and Structural thinking.Likewise, Shaq says, “I didn't invent basketball, but I am really good at executing the plays.” Discipline, professionalism, and Structural thinking made Shaq an extraordinary basketball player. These same characteristics also made him an amazing operator of fast-food franchises.“The most Shaq ever made playing in the NBA was $29.5 million per year. Now, it's estimated that the big man is bringing in roughly $60 million per year, much of which is coming from his portfolio of fast-food businesses around the U.S.”– 24/7wallst.comShaq didn't invent car washes or Five Guys Burgers and Fries, but he owns more than 150 of each.Michael Dell and Shaquille O'Neal are masters of Structural planning and thinking.Structural thinking relies on proven elements and best practices. “Gather the best pieces and processes and connect them together like LEGO blocks. What could possibly go wrong?”Structural planning and thinking:Invent, Improvise, Innovate?“NO, because those things are untested. We want to avoid mistakes.”Reliable, Tested, Proven?“YES!”Steve Jobs and Michael Jordon are masters of Gestalt planning and thinking.Gestalt planning and thinking:Invent, Improvise, Innovate?“YES!“Reliable, Tested, Proven?“NO, because those things are predictable. We want to be different.“The fundamental idea of Gestalt thinking is that the behavior of the whole is not determined by its individual elements; but rather that the behavior of the individual elements are determined by the intrinsic nature of the whole. It is the goal of Gestalt thinking to determine the nature of the whole, the finished product.Gestalt thinkers who can fund their experiments and survive their mistakes often become paradigm shifters and world-changers.Steve Jobs got off to a slow start because he refused to use MS-DOS, the operating system that everyone else was using. But he was sensitive to the needs and hungers of the marketplace. When Steve Jobs had a crystal-clear vision of the things that people would purchase if those things existed, he brought those things into existence.Structural thinkers rely on planning and execution. Gestalt thinkers rely on poise and flexibility, often deciding on small details at the last split-second. Ask a Gestalt thinker why they do this and most of them will tell you, “I decide at the last minute because that is when I have the most information.”The reason you never knew what Michael Jordan was going to do is because Michael Jordan had not yet decided. Michael's internal vision was simple and clear: “Put the basketball through the hoop.” With the clarity of that crystal vision shining brightly in his mind, Michael could figure out everything else along the way.Gestalt thinkers like Steve Jobs and Michael

On this week's show we ask, how satisfied are you with your streaming service providers? We also read your emails and take a look at the week's news. News: Prime Video has 88% of customers on ad-supported plans Amazon gearing up to roll out new Fire TV OS on streaming player Roku announces 2 new streaming sticks starting at just $30 Max begins password-sharing crackdown Other: Aiwa: Then and Now State of Streaming: Satisfaction with streaming providers (The Streamable) How are Americans really feeling about their streaming services? Recently, we surveyed nearly 1,500 cord-cutters to get a clearer picture of how people are watching, what they're paying, and which services they are most satisfied with. The results reveal shifting habits in a saturated streaming market and point to what matters most as we speed right through 2025. Full article here… Streaming services people use: YouTube TV: 30% Hulu + Live TV: 10% Sling TV: 7% DIRECTV STREAM – 6% Fubo: 3% Philo: 3% DIRECTV via internet: 2% Dish: 2% None of the above: 38% Are subscribers satisfied? Despite rising subscription costs and service fragmentation, 58% of users are satisfied with their streaming experience, 33% are neutral, and only 9% are dissatisfied. This high satisfaction rate, despite 2024's price hikes and content reshuffles, is likely due to improved app performance, better device compatibility, and more tailored subscription options. How many services do people use? In 2025, streaming is typically a multi-platform experience: 49% of households subscribe to 2-4 services, 38% use 5 or more, and only 12% stick to a single service. Content fragmentation drives users to stack subscriptions for their favorite shows and sports, a shift from the cable era, making multiple subscriptions the norm for convenience. Monthly spending on streaming The typical streaming bill has surged, with 35% of users spending $50-$100 monthly, often on live TV and multiple on-demand subscriptions. Additionally, 26% spend over $100, likely on premium plans or add-ons, while only 19% keep costs at $25 or less by limiting subscriptions or using free trials. Streaming costs and complexity now rival traditional cable bills. Bundled benefits Bundling is a popular cost-saving strategy, with 31% of respondents accessing streaming through Amazon Prime and 14% via phone bills, often getting discounted or free access to platforms like Netflix or Disney+. However, 36% prefer direct subscriptions or find their preferred platforms aren't bundled, showing bundling is common but not universal. Churn vs. loyalty In 2025, 70% of users showed strong loyalty to their existing services, indicating platform stickiness despite subscription fatigue. However, 50% canceled at least one streaming service in 2024, driven by cyclical pauses, price hikes, or lack of content. Unlike cable, streaming subscriptions are easily canceled, leading to dynamic, seasonal churn, with some users returning for new content. What matters most? Here are the features that matter most to users: Affordable pricing Access to local channels Live sports availability Device compatibility (smart TVs, streaming sticks, etc.) Channel variety Reliable streaming quality DVR functionality Support for 4K resolution and surround sound (less critical) Preferred streaming devices Smart TVs are the top choice for streaming, used by 56% of viewers, followed by Roku devices at 44%, then Fire TV, Apple TV, and web/mobile viewing. This highlights a trend toward living room, lean-back streaming experiences over desktop viewing, driven by widespread smart TV adoption and improved built-in apps.

Matthew 9:26   “And this saying, it went out into all that land” (CG).   In the previous verse, Jesus had seized the hand of the damsel, at which time she arose. The tragedy for the parents had ended in joy. With that complete, Matthew next begins his final words of this short account with the words, “And this saying.”   This is a new word in Scripture that will only be seen again in Luke 4:14, phémé, a report, fame, a saying, a rumor, etc. It is derived from the verb phémi, to say. This event became a spoken word that was retold time and again as “it went out into all that land.”   The child was reported as having died. Reliable witnesses, not a few in number, who had seen the dead before confirmed it. The parent was a ruler of the synagogue and would be considered trustworthy in his testimony. And his once-dead daughter being alive was evidence to the fact concerning what occurred.   Because of the circumstances, the event became a spoken word and a testimony to the matter.   Life application: Though Matthew and Mark omit the age of the girl, Luke gives her age as about twelve. The woman with the issue of blood who had just been healed was likewise afflicted for twelve years.   Without trying to read too much into this, it appears that a progression of thought is being presented concerning the dispensations of time. It was noted in the comments on verse 9:22 that the woman with the issue of blood was typical of the church.   She was brought directly from a state of uncleanness to a state of salvation and being deemed clean. There are no works involved, and the one who is far away is brought near by the blood of Christ.   In this account, which encompasses the account of the woman, having begun in verse 18 (before the account of the woman) and which is completed now (after the healing of the woman), can be equated to the restoration of Israel.   The ruler has a child who is sick, an accurate description of Jerusalem (the seat of power of the Jewish people) throughout her history, and who is also equated to a daughter (such as in Lamentations 2 and elsewhere) –   “How shall I console you? To what shall I liken you, O daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I compare with you, that I may comfort you, O virgin daughter of Zion? For your ruin is spread wide as the sea; Who can heal you? 14 Your prophets have seen for you False and deceptive visions; They have not uncovered your iniquity, To bring back your captives, But have envisioned for you false prophecies and delusions. 15 All who pass by clap their hands at you; They hiss and shake their heads At the daughter of Jerusalem: ‘Is this the city that is called “The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?”'” Lamentations 2:13-15    While Jesus is tending to the woman who believed by faith and was saved (being equated to the church of those who believe by faith), the daughter dies. Likewise, the spiritual connection of Israel to God was severed. However, Jesus says that the girl is not dead but only sleeping. Israel, likewise, was separated from God but not cut off entirely. She will be raised after the church age –   “And you, O tower of the flock, The stronghold of the daughter of Zion, To you shall it come, Even the former dominion shall come, The kingdom of the daughter of Jerusalem.” Micah 4:8   The girl, being about twelve years old, has the same symbolism as that of the woman. Twelve is the number of perfection of government or governmental perfection. It thus represents the state of Israel after Jerusalem, the seat of power, is again raised to life –   “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! 38 See! Your house is left to you desolate; 39 for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!'” Matthew 23:37-39   Jesus' life and actions as He interacts with Israel, and as He moves around to various areas within the land, are like a walking parable. His very movements and actions form their own typology for us to consider. If the picture presented here for Israel is valid, it demonstrates that there is still a plan for Israel in the future.   As the people of Israel have been returned to the land of Israel, it appears that it will not be long before the church age comes to its end. And may that day be soon.   Heavenly Father, how wonderful it is to read Your words, seeking out hints of what You are telling us concerning the times, events, and interactions between You and Your people that are ongoing in the stream of time. Help us to not jump ahead and form illogical conclusions, but to consider Your word from what is clearly presented so that we can make sound conclusions about what is veiled. May it be so. Amen.

We would love to hear from you! Text us any feedback. Have you ever found yourself wondering how you spent an entire day feeling completely exhausted yet somehow accomplished "nothing"? The mental load you're carrying might be the answer, and you're not alone in feeling its weight. In this candid exploration of mental load, I dive into Dr. Morgan Cutlip's illuminating book "A Better Share" and unpack the hidden burden that many of us—especially mothers—carry silently every day. This isn't just about completing tasks; it's about the constant cognitive, physical, and emotional labor that goes into managing a household and caring for everyone within it.What exactly makes mental load so exhausting? It's the "triple threat" combination of cognitive tasks (the endless to-do lists), physical responsibilities (housework and errands), and emotional labor (managing everyone's feelings and needs) that creates an overwhelming burden. Research shows women typically shoulder all three simultaneously, while men primarily carry cognitive load concentrated in their work environment. The most revealing insight might be understanding what each partner truly needs. Women generally desire to be Pursued, Appreciated, and have a Reliable partner (PAR), while men typically seek Peace, Affection, and Respect (PAR). When mental load isn't shared effectively, both partners end up with unmet needs, creating cycles of resentment and disconnection. This conversation isn't about assigning blame—it's about recognizing a scientifically documented imbalance affecting countless relationships. By understanding mental load and learning to communicate about it honestly, we can create partnerships where both people feel seen, valued, and properly supported. Join me next week for practical strategies on managing mental load as a team and involving children appropriately in household responsibilities.A Better Share by Dr. Morgan Cutlip:https://amzn.to/4itJm6YJOIN ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Follow Along @ - https://www.instagram.com/nikkicronksmith/

The power industry supply chain is facing unprecedented strain as utilities race to upgrade aging infrastructure against a backdrop of lengthening lead times and increasing project complexity. This supply chain gridlock arrives precisely when utilities face mounting pressure to modernize systems. As the industry confronts this growing crisis, innovations in procurement, manufacturing, and strategic planning are essential. “Utilities can optimize their supply chain for grid modernization projects by taking a collaborative approach between the services themselves and how they can support the projects, as well as having a partner to be able to leverage their sourcing capabilities and have the relationships with the right manufacturers,” Ian Rice, senior director of Programs and Services for Grid Services at Wesco, explained as a guest on The POWER Podcast. “At the end of the day, it's how can the logistical needs be accounted for and taken care of by the partnered firm to minimize the overall delays that are going to naturally come and mitigate the risks,” he said. Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Wesco is a leading global supply chain solutions provider. Rice explained that through Wesco, utilities gain access to a one-stop solution for program services, project site services, and asset management. The company claims its tailored approach “ensures cost reduction, risk mitigation, and operational efficiencies, allowing utilities to deliver better outcomes for their customers.” “We take a really comprehensive approach to this,” said Rice. “In the utility market, we believe pricing should be very transparent.” To promote a high level of transparency, Wesco builds out special recovery models for its clients. “What this looks like is: we take a complete cradle-to-grave approach on the lifecycle of the said project or program, and typically, it could be up to nine figures—very, very large programs,” Rice explained. “It all starts with building that model and understanding the complexity. What are the inputs, what are the outputs, and what constraints are there in the short term as well as the long term? And, really, what's the goal of that overall program?” The answers to those questions are accounted for in the construction of the model. “It all starts with demand management, which closely leads to a sourcing and procurement strategy,” Rice said. “From there, we can incorporate inventory control, and set up SOPs [standard operating procedures] of how we want to deal with the contractors and all the other stakeholders within that program or project. And that really ties into what's going to be the project management approach, as well in setting up all the different processes, or even the returns and reclamation program. We're really covering everything minute to minute, day to day, the entire duration of that project, and tying that into a singular model.” But that's not all. Rice said another thing that sets Wesco apart from others in the market is when it takes this program or project approach, depending on the scale of it, the company remains agnostic when it comes to suppliers. “We're doing procurement on behalf of our customers,” he said. “So, if they have direct relationships, we can facilitate that. If they're working with other distributors, we can also manage that. The whole idea here is: what's in the best interest of the customer to provide the most value.”

Tony Brueski and Defense Attorney Bob Motta aren't holding back in this deep dive into the latest twists in the Karen Read case. With damning new evidence and a defense strategy that's walking a tightrope over a pit of conflicting statements, the big question is: will Karen Read take the stand to tell her side—or will silence speak louder? The episode dissects the fragile timeline, inconsistent witness accounts, and the defense's risky third-party blame game. Motta unpacks why the science—like the injuries to John O'Keefe and the damage (or lack thereof) to Read's SUV—might be the only reliable witness left. Everyone was drunk. No one remembers. And the truth may have been lost in that blizzard of booze and bad decisions. Could the defense's own narrative open the door to more incriminating testimony?
