Many books have been written that have cast doubt on the reliability of the Gospels. Textual critics, like Bart Ehrman, have written books claiming that the Gospels were written by non-eyewitnesses and are the result of legendary stories which circulated around the ancient world for hundreds of years after the death of Jesus and His disciples. Outside the academic world are other authors, like Dan Brown who wrote the Da Vinci Code, which also make claims that attack the reliability of the Gospels and the rest of the New Testament. Are their claims valid? Were the Gospels written by people who never witnessed the events that they record? This episode looks at these and other issues and asks the question, "Are the Gospels reliable?
It is fashionable these days to make fun of the Civil Defense initiatives of the Cold War. You have probably seen the old films about duck and cover that were shown in schools to teach the kids what to do in case of nuclear attack. You may occasionally see an old civil defense sign that indicates a fallout shelter. In the little town of Pocahontas Arkansas, the local Savings and Loan basement was a fallout shelter. There was enough food and water stored to maintain a given number of people through the early days after a nuclear attack, until the worst of the fallout radiation had decayed. They even had a Geiger counter down there. Here is the next hard truth: We had better stop making fun of duck and cover and reconsider teaching it to our kids. The reason we stopped is probably because it was giving the kids nightmares and it wouldn't make much difference anyway in an all out war between the US and Russia. Nuclear winter would ensue and the dead might be the lucky ones. But we have entered a new era and a new threat. Reliable sources tell us that China stealing our nuclear secrets is not the worst of it. China will become a commercial conduit for them into the rest of the world, and the danger of nuclear terrorism, nuclear blackmail by a rogue state, becomes a very real worry. Our government is still unwilling it seems to provide a missile defense at any level, so duck and cover and fallout shelters may be all we have left. It won't make any difference at ground zero, but at the margins, it could save tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands of lives. And one more thing for you to think about...Referenced: Duck and Cover (1952) from the Library of Congress.
Who exactly are you "thanking for their service" (?) ... and is the 1911 really reliable? We'll discuss that... and, Trump totally 'tarded our on "vaccines"... (yes, it's a shame)... and... we are owned by Lagavulin scotch... (this is just so wrong)... :o We also discuss the flaming miscreant Karl Frisch and the satanic actions of the Fairfax County (Virginia) so called "school board"... we hope you'll tune in. :)

How do you identify a 'good' supplier? Many organizations focus on the 'supplies.' This means value for money, apparent capacity and capabilities and so on. But what happens when you need an issue to be resolved ... and your supplier needs to be part of the solution. If you have just selected suppliers based on the supplies ... then good luck! It is usually much more useful to focus on the human beings in the supplier organization and not the things that appear in the glossy brochures. Keen to learn more? Listen to this podcast! Brad Staggs sits in for Rick Roberts. Inflation has driven the cost of electricity up by 17.3%! And it will go higher, because the Public Utility Commission has mandated changes to the electric grid that puts reliability over price. How much are you willing to pay for reliable electricity? Due to inflation, prices for electricity are up all over the nation. But it's particularly bad in Texas -- 17.3% in one year! And experts predict prices to go up even more in 2022. But maybe that's a good thing. After the Great Freeze back in February, the Legislature demanded changes to the electric grid, and the Public Utility Commission has responded by emphasizing reliability over cheap prices. The question for you: how much are you willing to pay for reliable electricity? Brad Staggs sits in for Rick Roberts on NewsTalk 820 WBAP ... On this episode of the Life in the Carolinas podcast, Carl sits down with automotive service business owner John Nobles. Born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, John spent much of his adult life in Tampa, Florida where he raised his daughter and two sons. He tells us that he and his wife Kim were eventually compelled to make the move to Wilkesboro, NC in their search for a community of folks who were more in line with their faith and values. Now seven years settled in Wilkesboro, John and his family are not only enjoying living in a town awash with Southern hospitality but are quick to show that same hospitality themselves to every newcomer to their church. Our host met John a few years back when Carl walked into his shop to have his car fixed. The two quickly hit it off and have remained friends since. Today, John's business is bigger than it's ever been thanks to being built on, in Carl's words, “a big trust factor with [his] customers”. “Trust in the automotive business is something that's very hard to get,” John contends. A lot of that has to do with too many shops garnering a reputation for trying to squeeze every dollar out of their customers. John, on the other hand, prides himself on speaking to every single one of his customers as if they were members of his own family. Understanding that a car is often a person's second-most valuable asset (after their home), John says that he wants every customer to leave believing that he took care of their vehicle, and that money was never his top priority. Instead, John says, “their emergency is my priority.” Finally, John discusses the future of his business and outlines his vision of having a one-stop shop in in the North Wilkesboro area for all your automotive needs.

I started this podcast for many reasons in October 2019. I love creating and expressing ideas to others. I'm a natural teacher and the podcast platform has allowed me to get my ideas out of my head and do an audio journal for myself and for anyone that wants to follow. When I started, I was struggling to get my second solo cleaning business off the ground. The struggle wasn't tactical. I knew how to build a company. I just didn't want to. I was challenged by close friends and a new friend I met at a podcasting conference to start. I used this show as a public accountability to the world that I could and would build a second business. I did. For 175 episodes, I built my company and shared my weekly progress with anyone that would listen. Over time, I've added new features like the "Funny Papers" to entertain you with silly stories. I shared clips of membership and expert calls that I facilitate in the Smart Cleaning Tribe. At the end of 2020, I changed the name of the podcast from the Solo Cleaning School to the Smart Cleaning School, which brought the new tag line of "helping visionaries make the impact they were meant to make." This branding change opened the door to add a monthly long-form, hour-long interview with visionaries from the cleaning industry. I literally did nothing by the book. Normal interviews are organized and questions are sent out ahead of time. I didn't want that at all! I wanted to have a conversation with great people and ask them deeper questions than others in their spheres ask. And I wanted these amazing guests to feel comfortable enough with me to answer them. Therefore, I have no structure to my interviews. In fact, the average 60-minute interview that you hear edited is actually a 90 to 120-minute recorded conversation. I also didn't want to leave my solo cleaning friends high and dry. I added a 10th monthly episode called "Solo Saturday" just for this incredible tribe of cleaning owners that work by themself with no employees. I have simply kept this in front of me. I am creating shows for cleaning business owners all over the world to entertain them and to educate them on leadership, business owner's mindset, efficiency and optimization, and how to live a balanced, healthy life. Why am I sharing this with you, my faithful listeners of the Smart Cleaning School? Simple. I'm adding the next piece to this podcast and quite honestly, it's something I thought I'd never do. I'm hand-selecting excellent brands and companies that I personally endorse to sponsor the Smart Cleaning School. It blows my mind that this podcast would be downloaded over 50,000 times in all 50 states, 79 countries, and 6 continents. It blows my mind that companies would be willing to pay me to advertise their products to offset the costs of creating this show. The difficult part would be the WHO and the HOW. Who would I endorse and how would I do it? Most podcasts have a corporate feel when they bring in sponsors. The host takes a moment to thank their sponsors and then does a 30 to 60-second read or commercial. Sponsors pay podcasters based on the number of reads and how many people would hear those reads. I hope it doesn't surprise you that I wanted to do it differently. I have no structure to my interviews, except I want to extract the heart and vision out of each guest. I wanted my selected sponsors to be no different.Read the rest of this article at the Smart Cleaning School website

Jason Isaac of the Life:Powered initiative talks about the misdirection of Texas media on where the problem lies with the Texas power grid and how to avoid shortages of electricity. The news of Texas covered today includes:Our Lone Star story of the day: The Biden Administration has all the time in the world to find new ways to clamp down on the freedom of Americans over a virus but is uninterested in stopping the flood of millions across our border. We remain at record highs when it comes to illegal aliens crossing the border so where is the concern about the virus entering the country there? There is none and it's a disconnect most Americans can plainly see.Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.Jason Isaac of the Life:Powered talks about the misdirection of Texas media on where the problem lies with the Texas power grid and how to avoid shortages of electricity.Judge blocks Texas free speech on social media law saying it infringes on the free speech of the social media companies. But, it does no such thing. Those companies are free to say, or not say, anything they wish under the law. What the law does is force some form of accountability on those firms for their restrictions on the free speech of their users. It's just fine to say they have every right to moderate content on their platforms but only if they step outside of the special liability protections given them under federal law for being “neutral” platforms. Deciding what gets to stay online, gets promoted, or get outright banned seems a violation of being a neutral platform.Texas sales tax collections continue to grow (watch out though because some of these growth numbers are due to inflation and not real growth.)And, other news of Texas.Listen on the radio, or station stream, at 5pm Central. Te Urewera has been closed to visitors since the move to Covid-19 alert level 4 in August, but unlike Auckland, it won't be opening back up to the public until late January. The region is home to Tūhoe and includes some of Aotearoa's most remote, and most vulnerable communities. Reliable vaccine uptake data is scarce, but tribal leaders estimate that just 40 percent of the eligible Te Urewera population have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. With the nearest hospital a two-hour drive away, the Tūhoe iwi authority has invested in a system of quarantine that runs like MIQ. Te Urewera Board and Tūhoe Tribal Authority chair Tāmati Kruger spoke to Susie Ferguson.

Market projections are robust for small cells that will be needed in coming years as mobile network operators densify their networks, particularly in populated metro markets. Small cells typically are deployed on street furniture such as utility poles, streetlights, and custom-built poles installed along city streets. The challenge for network operators is to figure out where to place these small cells, how to power them, and how to connect them back into the network, all in a cost-effective and efficient manner. More importantly, how to keep these small cells functioning during a power outage. Tom Craft, Engineering Director for Metrocell, Integrated Solutions and Microwave at CommScope, discusses centralized power solutions for small cells with John Celentano, Inside Towers Business Editor.Support the show (https://insidetowers.com/subscription/)

There is so much pressure these days to do it all. This is why Dianne decided to conduct the Mary experiment. She decided to focus on being, instead of doing. This book was so helpful to me! I am so excited to share our conversation with all of you. Hard-working. Dependable. Consistent. Reliable. These words appropriately describe Dianne Deaton Vielhuber. Raised on a small Wisconsin dairy farm, her parents instilled these and other traditional Midwest values. Dianne earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Agricultural Journalism. After working in communications and marketing within agriculture for many years, she felt called to serve overseas as a missionary. After a life-changing year teaching English at a university in Almaty, Kazakstan, Dianne expected to return to the business world. Rather, God called her into pastoral ministry. Dianne earned a Master of Divinity from the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary while serving as a student pastor. Ordained an elder within The United Methodist Church, Dianne served five churches over a 20-year span. These days, Dianne yearns for new words to describe her: Grounded in God. Relatable. Practical faith journey. Assisting others to journeying with God. She writes regularly for her blog, Simple Words of Faith, where she explores finding God in our ordinary lives. Dianne journeys through her life with Hubby Rick. They have six grandchildren and Rick's adult children. A self-proclaimed recovering over-doing Martha, Dianne incorporates Mary-like attitudes in her life through gardening, reading and exercising. They have remodeled a 110-year-old Victorian farmhouse in south-central Wisconsin. Find Dianne at her Website and you can purchase her book Here.
