How can we break barriers for women in God's service? In this episode, host Tina Yeager sits down with husband-and-wife co-authors Amy and Rob Dixon to explore the important topic of breaking gender barriers in church leadership and service. Drawing from their experiences, latest picture book Penny Preaches, and years of ministry, Amy and Rob share compelling stories and practical insights about empowering both women and men to use their God-given gifts fully within the church. Together, they discuss the power of seeing role models, the impact of tradition and history on church culture, and how to have healthy, grace-filled conversations around challenging topics. Whether you're a church leader, parent, or someone wanting to better understand the value of egalitarianism in faith, this episode will encourage you to rethink how we can all flourish by embracing the diverse callings God places on each of our lives. Key Takeaways from the Conversation: The Power of Models: Amy and Rob remind us how critical it is for children—especially girls—to see women in leadership roles within their faith communities. “It's hard to be what you can't see,” Rob shares, highlighting how exposure and representation fuel confidence and ambition. Gifts Without Gender Limits: The church thrives when everyone is able to use their God-given gifts freely, regardless of gender. Amy notes, “God has gifted us each individually with good gifts, and they're not sectioned off by gender.” Imagine the impact if the whole team was on the field, not just half! Moving Beyond Fear: The resistance to women in leadership often stems from fear—fear of change, of lost power, or simply the unknown. Rob reflects on how churches can move forward together and men can serve as allies, supporting rather than fearing women stepping into their callings. Healing from Past Wounds: Amy's openness about her own wounds from the church is a powerful reminder that you're not alone—and that healing comes, in part, from supportive communities and looking at the “fruits” of service. Creating Space for Dialogue: These conversations aren't always easy, but the key is humility and honest, scripture-centered discussion. The church has a unique opportunity to model healthy disagreement and mutual respect to the wider world. For Parents and Leaders:Penny Preaches isn't just for girls—it's for every child (and parent) eager to see what happens when everyone is empowered to serve God. Boys, too, benefit from seeing strong, Spirit-led women in their midst. Ready to Get Involved? Grab a copy of Penny Preaches at IVPress.com, AmyDixonBooks.com, or wherever books are sold. Stay connected with our guests: Amy Dixon: amydixonbooks.com Rob Dixon: doctorrobdixon.com Final Thought Let's keep the conversation going—with courage and humility—as we build faith communities where every person's gifts can truly flourish. Whether you're stepping into leadership or cheering others on, remember: the church is at its best when all its members are included. We're thrilled to accompany you on this journey of faith, growth, and transformation. As always, we appreciate your support! Please subscribe and share this episode. Given Corinth's pagan context, Paul is determined to teach these new Christians that the purpose of their God-given gifts is to benefit and build up one another rather than competitively trying to outdo one another.

Can something as simple as kindness really change someone's view of God? Simple acts of love and kindness are how Jesus shows up in people's lives. When someone feels seen, heard, and cared for—especially in their mess or suffering—it softens hearts. It opens a door. That's when people start to wonder, “Why are you doing this?” And we get to say, “Because Jesus loves you.” When we meet people in their suffering with compassion—feeding them, clothing them, praying with them—we're not just meeting physical needs, we're revealing the heart of Jesus. And when people experience that kind of love, they start to believe again that God is real, that He sees them, and that He hasn't forgotten them. In today's episode, I sit down with Mandy Busch and Amanda Pfeiffer to share the incredible story of how their parish community responded after an EF4 tornado struck. Instead of just reacting, they mobilized hundreds—each person using their unique spiritual gifts—to serve with compassion, leadership, and faith. We talk about how discovering and using our charisms—the gifts given by the Holy Spirit—can be a game changer for unity and fruitfulness in mission. When we stop comparing and start collaborating, the Church comes alive. Like a puzzle, every piece matters. And when we come together in love, the result is powerful. Scripture: John 6:1-15, 35; Mark 8:5-7Sermon Title Suggestion: Broken for Blessing: The Dynamics of MultiplicationIntro: Deep gratitude for Radiant church – our "you're not crazy cousin"! You embody shared family values: unwavering commitment to Scripture's authority and the Gospel's centrality, a deep hunger for the Holy Spirit, and a wild hope for revival. You believe God isn't done with California, value elder-led teams, local roots with a global heart, and dream of multiplying churches. This message, drawing from "Broken for Blessing," is to fortify you for your next 20 years of fruitfulness. May this be a fresh, specific word from the Lord for Radiant.Key Points: 5 Dynamics of Christ's Multiplication (John 6)Life is in the Message, Not the Model (John 6:35): The Gospel of Jesus Christ, the true Bread of Life, is the multiplying power. Church planting models ("baskets") are secondary and will change; the message of Jesus' brokenness for our wholeness is eternal and what truly nourishes. Don't merely become experts in models; remain passionately in love with Jesus and His message. Remember: "My bad... You're good" – this is the Gospel! No Multiplication Without Subtraction (John 6:11): Just as the boy offered his entire lunch, true multiplication demands sacrifice. Jesus will ask us to put our best resources—our time, finances, and even our best leaders—into His hands, sometimes leaving us feeling hungry or stretched for a season so others might be filled. This is vital for a faith legacy that inspires future generations, fighting conservatism and embracing holy risk.Anointed Administration is a Jesus Thing (John 6:10; Mark 6:40): Jesus didn't just perform a miracle; He organized it, having people sit in groups. Effective administration is a spiritual gift, partnering with the prophetic, not opposing it. Radiant, as you grow, don't resist God-given systems and structures that facilitate further healthy multiplication.God's Abundant Provision AND Disruption (John 6:12-13): God always gives back more than we offer (12 baskets full!), but it often returns as "fragments"—raw potential, not always the finished product. This means a life of continual formation, raising new leaders, and embracing the disruption this brings. This keeps the church healthy and reliant on God, not just a few gifted individuals.Disciples Catch a Culture of Multiplication (Mark 8:5-7): After witnessing the feeding of the 5,000, the disciples offered their own loaves for the 4,000. A culture of multiplication is caught. When we see God move and willingly offer our unique "loaves and fish," we participate in His incredible multiplying mission. Conclusion: Ultimately, multiplying disciples and churches isn't just about growth; it's about Jesus receiving the reward of His suffering. He, the Lamb that was slain, is worthy because He was wounded for our healing and wholeness.Call to Action: Today, consider: what are your "loaves and fish"? Is it your time, talent, home, business, or finances? Jesus invites you to freshly place them in His hands. Respond with, "Count me in, Lord. You can count on me." Let's desire that the Lamb receives the full reward of His suffering through us. Support the show*Summaries and transcripts are generated using AI. Please notify us if you find any errors.

I am so excited for you to listen to my conversation with Ainslie MacLeod, a renowned past-life psychic, author, and spiritual teacher. Ainslie shares his profound insights into the concept of past lives and how they shape our current existence.   According to Ainslie, humans reincarnate multiple times to gain growth, experience, and learn all aspects of being human. Each lifetime builds upon the lessons and experiences of previous lives, shaping our present selves.   He introduced the concept of soul types, which are characteristics and traits we carry from past lives. He believes that understanding our soul type is crucial to realizing our purpose in this life.   Ainslie also provided a mini-reading for me, revealing my soul types and how they influence my life, including my work as a podcaster. He identified my soul age and the past life issues I am currently working through. It was absolutely fascinating!   If you are interested in learning about your own past lives or seeking guidance on your spiritual journey, I highly recommend checking out Ainslie's website and his books for a deeper dive into the world of past life exploration.   Visit www.ainsliemacleod.com or www.soulworld.com  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ainslie_macleod/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ainsliemmacleod/    If you enjoyed this episode, please check out my book, "Alive & Well: Awakening to Your Angels," available on Amazon.   Don't forget to like, follow, and leave a comment! Did Miracles & Spiritual Gifts End? Part 1

I was raised as a cessationist. That means I was raised to believe that all miracles and revelations and spiritual gifts ENDED when Jesus ASCENDED and the New Testament was finished. Only the APOSTLES were able to access them. This means that when the last apostle died, those special abilities ceased. They were only necessary to validate Jesus and the church to help it get established, and would not be needed after that. Is that true? This study investigates that view, and you might just be surprised what Scripture actually teaches in this area. (By the way, if I was a paid preacher at most any kind of church today, WHATEVER position I took would most probably get me fired. The good news for me is that since you don't pay me you can't fire me. Therefore I am free to just teach what the BIBLE says on this.) I just want to “speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent,” but the Bible conclusions here might shock you… Part 1 introduces this study with a listing of spiritual gifts and a thought question. Two brothers and two sisters found a secret door in the back of a closet that led them to a magical world called Narnia. It's a world with fantastic creatures and mythical beasts! Talking animals, giants, dwarves, dragons, & unicorns abound. In the land of Narnia, the children join a magical lion named Aslan in the fight against the evil white witch. In the story, the Lion Aslan is a representation of symbol for Jesus Christ. The Lion Aslan sacrifices himself to save a young naughty boy. Everyone is so sad. But then Aslan comes back to life. Does that sound like or remind you of Jesus? In the story, Aslan the Lion gives each of the siblings gifts so they can win the fight against evil. The oldest brother Peter receives a sword and a shield, The oldest sister Susan receives a bow and arrows and a horn, And the littlest sister Lucy is given a bottle of healing tonic. A magical medicine. Eventually, as the children use their special gifts from Aslan the Lion, they defeat the evil white witch and the land of Narnia is saved! It's a really neat story! You should read it with your parents and see if you can recognize ways the lion is the same as Jesus! Well one way the Lion Aslan is like Jesus is that Aslan gave each of the children special gifts. This week, we're excited to share a special live episode recorded at the Compass Gallery in Provo, as part of our Big Questions series with Terryl Givens. Each month, Terryl is joined by a guest for a conversation about some of our biggest theological and historical questions. In this episode, he's joined by scholar and teacher Jared Halverson. Together, Terryl and Jared explore the question: can doubt be a spiritual gift? They consider how doubt might play a meaningful role in our spiritual development, and ask whether we can reclaim faith as something relational, built on loyalty, trust, and love —  rather than a list of things we intellectually agree to.One of the most powerful ideas that emerges is that faith and doubt aren't opposites — in fact, they may need to coexist. It's often in the tension between the two that deeper discipleship takes root. Terryl and Jared also explore how the Restoration, at its core, invites us into a life of ongoing seeking and expanding, not one of perfect certainty. So if you've ever felt some fear, guilt, or shame around your questions — or worried that doubt means you're falling behind, out of reach, or off the path, this conversation is for you. We hope it offers a hopeful reframe: that the wrestle is sacred, that you're in good company, and that sometimes, this is exactly what spiritual growth looks like. And with that, here's Terryl Givens and Jared Halverson.

This bonus episode is a deeply personal journey into grief, healing, and forgiveness with my good friend Alec Zeck. I share raw and unfiltered reflections on my relationship with my father, a man who once embodied chaos and anger, but who, through his own awakening, became a shining example of curiosity, growth, and transcendence. From cold plunges and canoe trips to soul-level conversations about plant medicine and ketamine therapy, we became mirrors for each other—moving from a wounded father-son dynamic to something resembling divine peerhood.Alec and I also explore what it means to truly forgive our perpetrators—which includes navigating the long, nonlinear path of healing from trauma, finding grace even when it's not deserved, and learning how to hold both love and hurt at the same time. This episode is for anyone who's felt the ache of generational pain or the weight of grief for lost time and presence with the people who have shaped our lives.
