    This is Alfred Hitchcock's fiftieth film. As Hitchcock preferred, this film was shot entirely on a sound stage and is set wholly within Jefferies', the protagonist's apartment. The story plays with voyeurism. The more intently Jefferies spies on his neighbors, the closer the cameras come to the action going on inside his neighbors' apartments. The audience is brought in on the spying. Hitchcock used this as a metaphor for the whole movie-going experience. In essence, that's what we do every time we go to the theatre. We are eavesdropping on the people on screen.

    Today we discuss the film Invasion of the Body Snatchers. On the surface, this film is a 50's sci-fi flick about invading aliens. As with many science fiction films, especially at the time, it can also be interpreted as a metaphor for something else. Although most of the creators of the film claim no political intentions, many saw it as having an anti-Communist or anti-mccarthyist message. In any case, the film serves as an allegory for the loss of individual thought and identity in any system.

    In this episode, we discuss what many critics have deemed one of the best action movies of the last decade, Mad Max: Fury Road. Mad Max creator George Miller, successfully revived the old action franchise of the '80s. Shot in sequence in Australia and Africa, Miller did over 80% of the film's stunts and effects practically. CGI was mainly used to enhance landscapes and remove stunt rigging.
