The idea of being vulnerable is something I run away from every chance I get. This is becoming an issue as I find myself constantly confronted by situations that trigger me to confront this fear of vulnerability as well as many other things. On this week's episode, by sharing some lessons I have picked up in the past few weeks, I take a scary step towards embracing my vulnerable self. I introduced two new segments this week. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording. Tell a friend to tell a friend! Don't forget to like and follow on whatever platform you are listening to it on. What does it look like to have a relaxed and flexible relationship with food? One that is not weighed down by the pressures of society or the unreachable expectations of beauty that we place on ourselves as a result of as said society. On this week's episode, as I reflect on my evolving relationship with food, I discuss 5 takeaways from a recent training. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording. ✨What is your own relationship with food? I would love to hear from you. Tell a friend to tell a friend! Happy New Year beautiful people, It has been a while! 6 months, I honestly don't know where the time went. But A LOT has happened. We are living in “unprecedented” times as they say. It has been crazy, to say the least, but we made it, so cheers to you. This week's episode is a somewhat 2nd chapter to my open letter to my dad. In it, I share with him the 5 of the current themes in my life. Today would have been my dad's 54th birthday so Happy Birthday Zakilo, I miss you more than words could ever explain. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording.I honestly forgot how much I love recording, so thank you for giving me the opportunity to come back. Every time I thought of just letting this go, I would randomly stumble on my sound cloud page and saw that you were still listening. So thank you for the gift that is our little corner of the inter-webs. Don't forget to like and follow. For all the people who have been listening, thank you for riding with me, and for those who are new, welcome to the fam. I appreciate you more than you know.Remember! this podcast is also available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Tell a friend to tell a friend!

On this weeks episode, with the help of my guest Lara, we tackle Emotional Intelligence and its manifestations in a variety of contexts. In the spirit of being completely transparent, I was very hesitant about this topic. I think deep down I knew why ,but I did not want to admit it to myself. I was almost 100% sure that I was lacking in the department of emotional intelligence and we all aspire to be “intelligent,” whatever that may mean, so this revelation was a blow. But shoutout to Lara for prompting me to discuss this. It was definitely an experience. I have a couple questions for you this week. I want to hear from you, please don't leave me hangin *wink* PS. Black "Friends"

As a society, there is this aversion from “making things about race.” You have people who say it doesn’t always have to be about race. As one of my profs and mentors told me recently “when is it NOT about race.” On this week’s episode I discuss a topic a bit different from the ones I have done in the past. The episode is titled Black “Friends.” You are going to have to listen to find out why. The episode is important to me because it speaks a lot to my evolving identity and critical lens. Let me know what you think. I have a couple questions for you this week, related to the topic and a couple that are inspired by a bible plan I recently read. I want to hear from you, please don't leave me hangin *wink* PS. Whenever I am asked if I have any hobbies, I always say, "....I have a podcast actually..." and this always leads to the question "about what?" To which I reply "..anything I am thinking of that week..." What is interesting is, thinking back to the "why," why I started the podcast I don't actually remember. But in December 2017, while home for Christmas after 2 years and moving to a new country, I felt compelled to start something. At the time, I thought that "thing" would be a blog but fast forward to a conversation with a friend of mine, who stated that she believed a podcast would be better as I like to talk (haha) and "this is ours" was born. I was scared! I was so scared that nobody would listen. I mean who wants to hear my voice? I would have and in some ways still don't see myself as a "creative," it just wasn't my thing. I am better now in embracing this new part of my identity. But by his grace, here we are! On this week's episode I discuss my theme for 2020 which is "Follow your spirit." And in it, I discuss 5 thoughts for this year: gratitude, intentionality, faith, peace and self. The reason why I tell you the sparknotes version of the inception story of this podcast is because I believe that compelling feeling I felt that December was the Holy Spirit guiding me to this podcast. Through this podcast I have discovered a side of myself that I never could have imagined. So here is to a new year, of an intentional pursuit of my faith, remaining grateful for all blessings and resting in the peace of my ever evolving self. I have a couple questions for you this week. Let me know what you think. I want to hear from you, please don't leave me hangin *wink* PS. Don't forget to like, comment, subscribe and all the other good stuff.

“You do the best you can with what you have and end up where you were supposed to be.” This weeks episode was just an excuse for me to rant on where I am at. I have been going through a lot of transitions in the past 10 months or like my friend Timi called it “growing pains.” I am forever grateful for the opportunity to do this, and have people actually listen and care about what I have to say so thank you!. My only question/thought for you this week is: Is there anyone listening to this that can relate to these feelings? If so, please hit me up and let me know!
