After discussing the Whiskey, we switch to a Fire Service/Department topic for the remainder of the show. We have A LOT of fun every week. We poke fu…
Florida Georgia Line is behind the Old Camp Whiskey brand. We try the American Blended Whiskey in this episode. It is a mild bodied and smooth at 80 proof and a great price. Is there things you cannot talk about around the fire house with all the crew around? Yep! And we discuss what some of those taboo topics are. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whiskey-fire-deparment/support
We did Makers Mark in an earlier episode, but this is MM46! It is smooth and delicious, very similar to the original. It is aged a bit longer in French Oak staves. Emma also goes over some retirement insights. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whiskey-fire-deparment/support
Jean is solo today. She revisits Redneck Rivera Whiskey and taste test Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Jean goes over her favorite products that not only helped getting out the cancer causing particulates but also keeps you looking good, not aged . Because we all know smoke, heat and dehydration makes you look older than you are. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whiskey-fire-deparment/support
Old Forester is the only bourbon produced by the founding family before, during and after prohibition. George Garvin Brown founded it in 1870. This is a good strong bourbon at 100 proof, that is surprisingly mild. Very good flavor and only slight burn. A great choice to stock your bar with. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and all other social media sites are a way of life today. But never write anything you would not feel comfortable showing your employer. We talk about quite a few cases around the country where firefighters got in trouble for things they posted on social media. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whiskey-fire-deparment/support
A couple guys from New Zealand started the "Stolen" brand in 2010. Stolen Whiskey was created in the US in March 2017. The Whiskey is a single grain Whiskey (mainly corn) that has been aged for 11 years in used barrels. Their secondary process is an additional 28 days aging with charred/smoked staves added, giving it a smokey flavor. We were intrigued by this Whiskey and the whole process. We also talk about our experience being on the Honor Guard. We discussed some of our most memorable events. We both agree, being on the Honor Guard is a position we were most proud of. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whiskey-fire-deparment/support

American Barrels Bourbon has such a neat story. This is a young whiskey with a young founder with a big message, steeped in patriotism. The whiskey however did not taste its age, it was a pleasant surprise. We introduced Salty the Dog (STD for short) to the show. He will be our guest from time to time. Our second segment was Woman are from Venus and Men are from Uranus... It was nice having a male perspective and opinion for a change. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whiskey-fire-deparment/support

Tullamore D.E.W. Irish Whiskey, the original triple distilled, triple blend Whiskey was the star this week. They use the number 3 a lot. There are 3 natural ingredients, 3 varieties of grain distillation and 3 types of maturation casks. All of this effort makes for a very good Irish Whiskey. With Irish as our theme, we discussed some of the differences between the "Wild West" aka: United States, and European Fire Departments. Building construction won out as the obvious reason for fire attack differences. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whiskey-fire-deparment/support
"She want more, more, more"... Rebel Yell, Small Batch Rye. That was the flavor of the week. And of course who doesn't think of Billy Idol? The Rebel Yell recipe was invented in 1849 and branded in 1936. We also get into some of the Scandals that have plagued Fire Departments across the country. We could really do about 10 episodes on this topic. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/whiskey-fire-deparment/support
