PREVIEW: Colleague Rick Fisher presents the PRC's phased asteroid missions and also reports on the PRC ambition to dominate the solar system with men and machines. More on. august 1953. CLAUSE 4.0: Let me search for more information about China's broader solar system exploration strategy and Rick Fisher's analysis. China's Phased Asteroid Mission Strategy Bottom Line Up Front: China has developed an ambitious multi-phase approach to asteroid exploration and planetary defense, positioning itself as a major space power with systematic missions targeting asteroids, Mars, Jupiter, and potentially the outer solar system through 2050. Current Asteroid Missions (2025-2030) Tianwen-2 (2025): China will launch the Tianwen-2 mission to sample a near-Earth asteroid next year. The mission will first focus on sampling near-Earth asteroid Kamoʻoalewa (2016 HO3). After delivering samples to Earth, the spacecraft will use our planet for a gravitational slingshot maneuver and set it on a course for main-belt comet 311P/PANSTARRS. SpaceNewsSpace Planetary Defense Test (2025-2030): China is planning its first mission to impact an asteroid in the name of planetary defense. The mission will serve a dual purpose: One craft will impact the asteroid while its partner observes the space rock to learn more about the solar system and its formation. SpaceSpace China wants to test changing the orbit of a potentially hazardous asteroid with an impactor spacecraft and also accurately measure how much its orbit is altered. China will launch 2-in-1 asteroid deflection mission in 2025 | Space Expanding Solar System Dominance Strategy Deep Space Exploration Roadmap: China's plans for exploring the outer Solar System are taking shape, with Jupiter's moon Callisto and one of the ice giants the main targets. PlanetarySpaceNews China has unveiled a long-term planetary exploration roadmap for planetary habitability and the search for extraterrestrial life. China to seek out life in the solar system as NASA faces cuts, commercial players expand ambitions - SpaceNews Tianwen-4 Jupiter Mission (2029): Zhu's outline of the mission sees a Tianwen-4 launch in September 2029. The spacecraft will use a flyby of Venus in 2030 plus further gravity assists from Earth in 2031 and 2033, to arrive at Jupiter in December 2035. China's plans for outer Solar System exploration Ice Giant Missions (2035-2050): Zhu provides a potential launch date of 2035 for a Uranus mission, arriving in orbit in 2050. If a Neptune mission is chosen instead, it would launch in 2040 and arrive in 2058. China's plans for outer Solar System exploration Infrastructure and Capabilities Development Planetary Defense Force: China is recruiting for a planetary defense force to combat the threat of asteroids colliding with Earth. The successful candidates will be required to research tasks related to near-Earth asteroid monitoring and early warning systems. Wanted: 3 asteroid watchers for China's 'planetary defense force' Advanced Detection Systems: The "compound eye," a 25-antennae network of radars, is under construction to bounce signals off deep space objects to determine their potential threat to Earth. The project is set to be completed in 2025. China targets its first planetary defense test mission Strategic Implications Rick Fisher, a senior fellow at the International Assessment and Strategy Center, has been analyzing China's space ambitions extensively. Rick Fisher talks about China's growing space ambitions—from the Moon, to Mars, to asteroids. Throughout the program, Rick talked about Chinese space policy, goals, objectives, hardware, all of it, as tools of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and as an implement of the PLA (People's Liberation Army). NTDThespaceshow China's systematic approach includes not just exploration but potential dual-use capabilities, advanced manufacturing in space (including plans for a lunar base by the 2030s Space-Based Solar Power and 21st-Century Geopolitical Competition | RealClearDefense and space-based solar power), and the development of comprehensive planetary defense systems that could have both protective and offensive applications. This represents a coordinated strategy to establish Chinese leadership across the solar system through the combination of scientific exploration, resource utilization, and strategic positioning—what some analysts view as China's bid to become the dominant space power of the 21st century.

In episode 124 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield investigate the shock-inducing relationship between multi-Super Bowl-winning football coach, Bill Belichick and his girlfriend, Miss Maine runner-up, Jordon Hudson. With a 48-year age gap, the media has fueled all kinds of speculation about this unlikely couple. We're here to see what's really going on!   First, we look into Bill's chart and find an extremely fiery, competitive, and self-assertive Sun/Jupiter conjunction in Aries, telling us winning is the only option. Additionally, with Venus and Mercury also in Aries, this puts an intensity and fight in the areas of love and communication for him. But with a square to Venus from Uranus, there is a dose of unconventionality and a great need for space in relationships.    Next, we look into Jordon's chart and also find a strong and independent Aries Sun and Venus...she definitely knows how to shine in literal beauty contests! Additionally, an extroverted Leo Moon brings high-spirits but not before a square from Saturn makes her question how much praise she really deserves.   Together, their synastry is truly fascinating and squashed our expectations. A Sun/Moon trine immediately brings good-will and supportive feelings towards each other, but it's the aspects to the nodes that shine the brightest. With mutual Uranus' conjunct the North Nodes, these two are absolutely destined to be disruptors in each other's lives. This energy brings unexpected shifts towards a more awakened consciousness and with trine Pluto's, the subconscious trust in each other is their power source. Their romantic life has much to be desired, but perhaps this relationship goes much further beyond that! Listen in to hear this shocking Venus score!    Book a Reading with us! Is it eight… or nine? For a long time, children around the world were taught that our solar system had nine planets, including a small, distant one named Pluto. But in 2006, Pluto was reclassified. It was no longer considered a “real” planet, and the official number of planets dropped to just eight. Why did this happen? Why was Pluto removed from the list of planets? And what exactly is a planet anyway? In today's episode of Thinking in English, we'll look at what a planet actually is, why Pluto used to be a planet but isn't anymore, and how science changes over time. We'll also talk about the history of planet discoveries, like Neptune and Uranus, and how our understanding of the solar system has developed. This episode is also a great chance to learn scientific vocabulary and practice thinking critically in English. We'll explain important terms like orbit, gravity, dwarf planet, and clearing its orbit. And we'll discuss some fascinating facts about space, science, and the nature of definitions themselves. So… is Pluto really a planet? Or not? Let's find out. Comment la glace "superionique" peut-elle être à la fois solide et liquide ?

    Choses à Savoir SCIENCES

Play Episode Listen Later May 25, 2025 2:40

JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ FOR THIS WEEK'S ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING PODCAST WHICH DROPS MAY 23 @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking This week's podcast begins with a look at the chart of former president Joe Biden since his shocking prostate cancer diagnosis was announced May 18, just after the exact Sun/Uranus conjunction in Taurus on May 17. We take a deep dive into his horoscope, starting with his Progressed Lunar New Moon @ 1'30 Aquarius on May 5, 2019, through to the previous & current opposition to his 12th House Scorpio Sun by Uranus in Taurus as it transits his 6th House of health.  We posit that Biden's journey from winning the presidency in 2020 & helping restore America to full health during the Covid-19 pandemic, to his current announcement of metastasized cancer, symbolizes the current “ill health” of the U.S. In other words, that Biden's sudden shocking announcement of previously unknown cancer is awakening Americans to the same "weakening" as part of the trajectory occurring within their nation. How do we know this? Because we're under the auspices now of the current Pluto return triggered essentially since the January 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol, which occurred a year before its exact return in February 2022. An insurrection incited & caused by sore loser Donald Trump in the November 3, 2020, presidential election based on false claims of election fraud—just as we approached the new Jupiter/Saturn synodic cycle on December 31, 2020, at 0'30” AQ which foretold a change in leadership. We look at how the Pluto return is annihilating the former legal rights of individuals here in conjunction with the current transiting Jupiter square to the transiting nodal axis, particularly to the Virgo South Node. And how the Mercury-ruled Virgo archetype affects our health as related to the recently passed reconciliation bill in the U.S. House of Representative which seeks “perfection” through numbers to balance the budget, yet attempts to do so by denying average citizens their previous right to government-funded health care. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, as the House bill now goes to the Senate as we approach Saturn's entrance into Mars-ruled Aries on May 24 & the Gemini New Moon & Chiron/Eris conjunction in Aries on May 26. Whether the Senate discusses reducing the health burden the House placed on individuals to pay more to take care of their health needs or not remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: The Saturn ingress into Mars--as Saturn begins his slow journey toward an exact conjunction to Neptune in Aries on February 26, 2026--we have the opportunity to awaken to the amount of wounding & chaos already caused under the guise of “fiscal responsibility.” This hypocritical claim by the U.S. Congress persists despite the fact that the current legislation wants to extend tax cuts for corporations and the rich at the expense of those in the lower income brackets to the tune of increasing our national debt by $3.8 Trillion over the next decade. That this has weakened our previous alliances & global partnerships—part and parcel of the waxing Saturn/Pluto 36-year cycle in Capricorn begun on January 12, 2020--becomes obvious as we're also still under the auspices of the currently waxing Jupiter/Saturn cycle in Aquarius begun December 31, 2020.We look at the prescient words of renowned astrologer Stephen Arroyo written in 1984 about the meaning of the change from 200 years of Jupiter/Saturn cycles in earth to air, the latter of which began in 1980 in Libra. Join us to learn more about what this “grand mutation” has meant between then & now, despite the 2000 conjunction in earth again & its return to the air element for the long term in 2020. (Hint: It concerns the “reestablishment of old-style capitalism,” & the redistribution of wealth from the poorest to the richest.) Now, as we approach Saturn's entrance into Aries, we might look at the bright side of this otherwise potentially frustrating & depressing combination of archetypal energies. On the one hand, we have the potential for an increasingly slow reduction of our rights to free speech (& more), & the resulting depression that can set in when we think we have no recourse but to bury the frustration of being told to shut up and take it.However, on the other hand, we can use this transit to devise carefully thought out long-term plans to regain our rights. Saturn in Mars-ruled Aries can slow the warrior's roll just enough to avoid impatient or impetuous moves & to direct our energies toward succeeding through hard work. The 6'06” Gemini New Moon, at 8:02 p.m. PT & 11:02 p.m. ET on May 26, can help us plant seeds to gain new perspectives by listening to the facts. Since Gemini likes to collect & pass information, but not to analyze it for conclusions, we can use our mental adaptability to consider alternative viewpoints now about what's causing our current state of chaos and how it's wounded us. The Gemini archetype is related to tactics. However, it's Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius, its archetypal opposite energy, that plans overall strategy. So, in the short term now, we can begin to discuss how to plan to regain our rights in the future, courtesy of Saturn's entrance into Mars. The upcoming Sun/Mercury conjunction in Gemini, occurring late on May 29/early May 30, depending on your time zone, may reveal more information from on high in the form of a major announcement of some kind. And this, in turn, may further awaken us to how much the recent discord & chaos has wounded us--via wounded healer Chiron's conjunction to dwarf planet Eris in Aries-- & how we've seemingly been stymied over the past few months by chaos-induced inertia. Tune in for a deep discussion on all of this--& more Astro News You Can Use--starting today, May 23!@ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking See you then! Future Trends in Leadership: The End of Alpha Leadership & Pathways for Visionary RebelsIn this installment of our Future Trends series, we dive deep into how leadership is experiencing a seismic shift. The outdated, "alpha," command-and-control model is rapidly collapsing—making way for a new paradigm fueled by intuition, collaboration, energetic presence, and soul-led authority.Tune in as we unlock actionable insights on leading powerfully within today's rapidly changing business and spiritual landscapes.Key Episode HighlightsThe Collapse of Alpha LeadershipThe era of "top-down" control, ever-hustling workloads, and performative visibility is ending.Alpha leadership thrived on dominance, hierarchy, and charismatic but exclusive leadership—but these systems are no longer sustainable or rewarding.New leadership models prioritize resonance, alignment, and presence over volume, force, or status.Rising Trends: Intuitive & Collaborative LeadershipLeadership is moving towards intuitive, energetically embodied authority. The most powerful leaders now anchor their vision in both soul and strategy, focusing on community, recognizing individual energy, and creating environments of belonging.Integration of both masculine and feminine energies is critical for shaping dynamic, innovative teams and businesses.Astrological Influences Shaping LeadershipPluto in Aquarius (2024–2044): Decentralizes power, supporting networks and micro-communities over rigid hierarchies.Neptune in Aries (2025–2039): Invites embodied, self-trusting leadership and ends illusions around hustle culture.Uranus in Gemini: Fuels cross-community collaborations and new problem-solving frontiers, stressing the synergy between diversity and innovation.Powerful Quotes“You don't have to become someone new, you have to become fully you. And that's the leadership that the world is begging for.”“Leadership, true leadership is being rewritten... it's a deeper, more intuitive power that already lives inside of you.”Key Questions Answered1. Why is traditional alpha leadership failing?[0:45–3:03 & 8:49-10:25]Traditional alpha leadership, built on hierarchy, dominance, and relentless hustle, is failing because it creates environments of exhaustion, broken teams, and a lack of true collaboration or personal alignment. 2. How do astrological influences like Pluto in Aquarius impact the future of leadership?[15:49–18:15]Astrological trends such as Pluto in Aquarius decentralize power structures, encouraging the rise of niche communities, collaborative pods, and interconnected networks instead of traditional hierarchies. This cosmic influence pushes leaders to value technology, intuition, and diverse relationships as key to effective influence and impact.3. What does it mean to “lead with presence” versus “lead with status”?[9:11–21:02]Leading with presence means guiding through energetic alignment, intuition, and embodied awareness, rather than relying on authority, volume, or outward status. It involves constantly recalibrating with your team or audience, fostering environments of trust, psychological safety, and genuine connection instead of simply commanding or performing.Join the Conversation! If today's episode inspired you or offered new insight into your personal leadership journey, make sure you subscribe, rate, and review on your favorite podcast platform.Share this episode with visionary friends who are ready to lead from truth, resonance, and aligned power!

Hello beloved. Have you ever heard of the Pleiades? Not to be confused for the “Pleadians” Star Family Race, but that of the 7 sisters dancing in they sky, protecting and holding space for women of all kind. The veils are lifting and our connection to all that is.ALL THAT IS - is available for ALL by setting the intention and integrating their gifts into helping society transition into our next spiritual - golden age. That said, if you sense your here for this grand integration of heaven on earth, I want to share this incredible astrological transit.Pause and root in your essence as you invite the Pleiades Stargate and the essence of their beautiful protection. THE STORY. In Greek mythology, the Pleiades were the seven daughters of the sea-nymph Pleione and Atlas, a Titan condemned by Zeus to bear the sky on his shoulders forever.Their names—Maia, Electra, Taygete, Alcyone, Celaeno, Sterope, and Merope—reflect their celestial legacy. The name Pleiades, derived from the Greek word pleiôn meaning “plenty,” signifies their title as “Ladies of Plenty.”The Myth recounts their pursuit by Orion, the giant hunter enamored with them.To shield them from his advances, Zeus transformed the sisters into stars, placing them in the night sky. Another story portrays the Pleiades as companions of Artemis, goddess of the hunt, who turned them into stars to safeguard them from Orion's relentless pursuit. The Pleiades constellation endures as a powerful symbol of sisterhood, embodying the strength and unity found in collective bonds.Today, the Pleiades resonate deeply with the divine feminine, representing a restoration of feminine energy rooted in nurturing, abundance, and resilience.Their celestial presence inspires modern movements to reclaim the divine feminine, fostering empowerment, fertility, and prosperity and the interconnectedness of women supporting one another. This constellation's enduring light serves as a reminder of the sacred feminine's role in healing and creating balance in a world yearning for unity and hope.Pleiades were the companions of Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, who transformed them into stars to protect them from the advances of orion, a giant hunter.

The astrology this week has a gravity to it. Saturn moves into Aries to mark a new chapter of life around our experience of time, limits, and responsibilities, as well as our experience of devotion, determination, and confidence. Saturn reminds us to focus on what's important because our time and energy are some of our most precious and limited resources. In addition, there are many aspects this week that invoke a movement toward being open to new ways of thinking. This astrology this week includes:Saturn moves into Aries on Sat 5/24: This marks the ending and beginning of a new 3 year phase. Saturn relates to your devotion, diligence, and responsibilities. With Saturn leaving Pisces and entering Aries, we have opportunities to close out one phase and begin fresh with another. This means taking the gifts and wisdom you've gained over the last 3 years, and letting go of what once served you but no longer does.Last Qtr Moon in Aquarius on Tues 5/20 at 4:59am: Releasing stuck-ness, moving thru resistance, finding your path forward.Sun in Taurus sextile Saturn in Pisces: Finding support thru effort and willful determination.Mercury conjunct Uranus in Taurus: Awakening of new ideas, concepts, or information that may feel revelatory. Synchronistic changes in your perspective. There may be new information that comes to you (especially via dreams, daydreams, or other symbolic ways) that opens new pathways. Be open to explore.Mercury in Taurus opposite Juno + square Pallas: You may feel a tension between being true to your own ideas and values vs. what you “should” do, especially in being responsible to other people and what they expect of you in a particular role. This tension may be softened by first considering what you need in order to show up for this role or in order to be present for others.Sun moves into Gemini on Tues 5/20: Happy Birthday to my Gemini people! This marks our consciousness shifting to a more fluid and multifaceted way of experiencing the world (Gemini). This also may mean an increase in things like sharing ideas with others, more movement, and openness to frequent change.Sun in Gemini sextile Neptune + trine Pluto: Unconscious material (Neptune + Pluto) may move into consciousness (the Sun). These are soft aspects so you may simply notice subtle intuitions calling for your attention. These can be ignored, but if you notice them and pay attention, you may be called toward something that speaks to you deeply.Mercury moves into Gemini on Sunday 5/25: Thought process and communications become more fluid and open. You may be more open to transitions and new ideas. Mercury in Gemini also makes a sextile to Saturn which adds a layer of keeping a practical mindset.Venus in Aries trine Mars in Leo: Passionate, creative, and loving energy. This aspect inspires a sense of craving connection, being drawn toward others, and maybe also a playful sense of competition. You may feel inspired to take action spontaneously.Ceres conjunct Neptune in Aries: Ceres is a symbol of how we deal with separations and reunions. This aspect shows a time where there's a potential for healing around our experience of a separation, grief, or loss – especially in dynamics that involve the maternal line or maternal type figures.Reflection Questions:1. What is ending and how can you honor this process?2. How are you being called to think about something differently?3. What challenges have you endured from March 2023 to now? From thosesituations, what wisdom are you carrying forward?...Wishing you a week of ease, security, and safety

Jupiter and Quaoar, Saturn and Varuna, with Uranus and Makemake. These new energies beyond Neptune in the Kuiper Belt operate according to one's ability of awareness. Regardless, the path strives towards one of recognizing deep and perhaps unseen patterns within. On a spiritual direction, their transits offer deep transformative development integrating our emotions, heart and soul,” said Sue Minahan, founder, and host of weekly show. “And example is that Mercury is the lower octave of Uranus, so is Makemake the higher of Uranus. The mercurial focus of communication and connection bridges into the Uranian focus on elevating humanity to advocating for one's cultural group in Makemake through a winning achievement involving mentors. These are complex, but enlarge another arena which affects us on various levels.”Joining Talk Cosmos founder and eclectic evolutionary astrologer Sue Rose Minahan of Kailua Kona, Hawai'i will be special guest Melissa Elvira Billington of Brisbane, Australia. Astrology forecast for May 17-24Chris and Almie talk about Saturn returning to the sign of Aries for the first time since 1999. They also discuss what we can expect in the days leading up to this big shift as Saturn makes its way through the 29th degree of Pisces.Chris and Almie wish everyone a very happy Gemini Season. The Sun will enter the sign of the twins on Tuesday, May 20th and it will remain in Gemini until June 20th. While the Sun is in Gemini we can expect our minds to become more inquisitive, more curious. We can also expect things to become more flexible and changeable. And they also go over the Sun-Uranus conjunction that's exact Saturday, May 17th in the sign of Taurus. This conjunction could bring some electricity and heightened energy to the weekend, as well as a surprise or two. We could find ourselves feeling restless and rebellious and wanting to break free from our usual routines. In “Ask a Scorpio,” Chris asks Almie what her favorite kind of bagel is, and also challenges her to a trivia game where she needs to guess the names of celebrities who were born when the Sun and Uranus were conjunct.

JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ FOR THIS WEEK'S ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING PODCAST WHICH DROPS MAY 16 @https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking It seems clear now in hindsight that the May 12 Scorpio Full Moon asked us--& asks us still in the waning portion of this month's lunar cycle--to release any attachment to making sudden changes in, or reversals of, long held, deeply felt values. In essence, the May 12 lunation served as a warning that a sudden change in values may not serve the overall evolutionary process--which understands that things cannot remain the same forever but also that change must occur slowly because that is how the evolutionary process works. Ergo, we need to release our tendency to decide to suddenly do an about face vis-a-vis our long held traditional values. This becomes even clearer when we remember two things: That Pluto is now transiting through the Uranus-ruled sign of Aquarius, denoting that evolutionary change over the long term is necessary & that it may be led by the eventual progressive empowerment of groups; & that the U.S. is undergoing still its Pluto return which began in February 2022.The Taurus Sun normally does not like change. It likes its creature comforts & finds security in its resources, including land, money, and its physical body & possessions. In short, Taurus is reluctant to change what it deems pleasurable. And what's pleasurable is what Taurus values. However, when the Taurus Sun exact conjoins sudden change maker Uranus on May 17—particularly in stubborn change resistant Taurus—the Uranian principle that the longer change has been resisted the more sudden & shocking it will seem when it inevitably occurs becomes prevalent. In addition, Uranus, which rules Aquarius, tends to bring us sudden—sometimes shocking & often unexpected—revelations with lightning speed that provide us stark clarity. That's why astrologers often refer to Uranus as the “great awakener.”The Sun also represents the leader in mundane astrology. And, what's changing rapidly now is related to his or her personal values, rather than those of the collective (read: the people.) Given that Neptune's now in Aries, we are seeing an awakening, or new birth if you will, of the need for freedom of choice within the greater collective, especially in America. And this has presented us with a dilemma in terms of this nation's long held values around equality & freedom from tyranny. The current U.S. Pluto return, in effect for several years ahead still, denotes that adaptation will be necessary in order to avoid total extinction of the democratic process here. This podcast takes a deep dive into the sudden, recently attempted changes to both the 236 year-old U.S. Constitution & its long held & accepted legal premise around issues such as habeas corpus & the right to due process, the emoluments clause, birthright citizenship, and more. While it's true that the U.S. Constitution is in need of a modern-day upgrade, sudden change is not the way. That's because we don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater in terms of its basic principles such as that “all men are created equal,” and that the U.S. Government is one “of the people, by the people, for the people.”What will be necessary in the years to come, under the tutelage of Pluto in Aquarius, will be an update to the meaning of these words. “All men,” for example should not mean only White male Christian aristocratic landowners or corporate robber barons. It must extend its humanitarian Aquarian nature into a more collectively Neptunian sense that ALL humans deserve equal rights—including minorities, women, immigrants, LGBTQ+, etc.--& that corporations & billionaires must not tyrannically control the masses. These are the immediate issues to ponder as transiting Jupiter in Gemini forms a square to the transiting Virgo South Node & Pisces North Node, which urges us to move away from trying to control every aspect of our environment & toward relaxing into a more empathic, inclusive one. This is especially true right now in terms of Jupiter-related archetypes: law, immigration, higher education, religion, & a free press (read: freedom of speech.) As we move toward the third quarter monthly “crisis in consciousness” lunar square of the Aquarius Moon to the Taurus Sun on May 20, the tension between groups of people and a stubborn pleasure-loving executive may become even more palpable. Perhaps objections by the people to our president accepting a $400 million “palace in the sky” jet from Qatar IS a violation of the American Constitution & a step too far, eh?When the Sun enters Gemini later that day, perhaps there will be an about face, as Gemini can be fickle. And, since America's current president's natal Sun/Uranus conjunction in Gemini has proven to be part of how American policy is decided at this point, a change of mind is always possible. If nothing else, the Gemini archetype is good at both being mentally adaptable as well as adept at making an about face.Next week's Mercury/Uranus conjunction in Taurus may well lead to an unexpected announcement of some kind by May 23, especially since Mercury enters its own sign of Gemini May 25. Perhaps more deals will be made & announced, who knows? We already have a lot of that going on, including the possibility of some kind of move toward a resolution of the war by Russia against Ukraine based on current discussions between the two now.Meanwhile, there's lots to say about Saturn's upcoming entrance into Mars-ruled Aries on November 24, too, so be sure to tune into  https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking starting today May 16, & catch up on all the latest Astro News You Can Use! I'm running out of time to finish, What began so long ago, The best I can do is speak my truth, As Spirit has it under control. ☉Get ready for some surprises this weekend as the Sun conjuncts Uranus and opposes Black Moon Lilith! In Taurus, this can have to do with money, food, clothing, shelter, sex, and even survival. Why, you might ask? Because Uranus is the great awakener, and whatever we have been asleep to within our unconscious psyche prevents us from fully awakening to our full potential. You may have light bulbs go off in your brain, have some turn on the lights for you, or you may turn on the lights for someone. One way or the other, it's wake-up time!In today's report, I discuss this as a short, quick act within a much larger play that spans from 2020 to 2030, with its midpoint this year. With Jupiter acting as a bridge between the past and future this month and Saturn closing his 28-year cycle, it's time to let go not only of illusions but so much more. How about limitation? How about negative judgements we're holding against ourselves? How about letting go of being a small, powerless victim?I feel that when many people think of the need to let go, it creates images of loss in their minds' eye. This is not necessarily the case, and the sad thing is that it leads many people to fear letting go and moving on. Sometimes we can even hold on tighter! Holding onto old identities, sources of security, or relationships that are not evolving not only prevents us from realizing our full potential but will ultimately lead to pain, ill health, depression, and alienation. So let's all try to be flexible, willing students of life, and go with the flow!Wheel in the Sky by Journey!  https://youtu.be/MxGEVIvSFeY?si=xtNpNCwfOUon5-neSo Much Love,Kaypacha☉

Who would you rather be this season? But first, Doug is joined by Connor O'Gara of Saturday Down South. O'Gara has to admit that Doug is a genius for one of his takes last season, then it's a discussion of whether the South can admit that the North is now on the same level when it comes to college football winning and depth. Then a couple Southern teams to watch are discussed, including Alabama, Georgia and LSU. Finally, Doug and Bill wrap things up with Whatcha, including society's difficulty with Uranus. [7:05] On May 17 (9:27 pm PDT), the Moon in Capricorn sextiles Saturn. It's VOC for 1 hour 2 minutes, then enters Aquarius (10:29 pm PDT). When these two planets are square, expect major developments, dramatic market shifts, communication breakdowns, big travel disruptions, or uncomfortable truths that emerge. Mercury's Sabian symbol is 4 Taurus, The rainbow's pot of gold. Pluto's symbol is 4 Aquarius, A Hindu healer.  [11:09] The Sun conjoins Uranus (May 17, 4:32 pm PDT) at 27º17' Taurus on the Sabian symbol 28 Taurus, A woman pursued by mature romance. The Sun with Uranus challenges us to evolve, often through unexpected shifts. Some will find this transit invigorating and freeing; for others, it's uncomfortable. Embrace what makes you unique and explore that in new ways. [13:05] Mercury squares Mars (May 17, 9:36 pm PDT) at 13º53' Taurus-Leo. Communication might get a little sharp or even cut off entirely. Choose words carefully. Mercury's Sabian symbol is 14 Taurus, Shellfish groping and children playing. Mars' symbol is 14 Leo, The human soul awaiting opportunity for expression. This aspect challenges us to speak with intention, to think clearly, act decisively, and speak truth. [16:25] Jupiter squares the lunar nodes at 25º05' Gemini, Pisces, and Virgo on May 18 (11:46 am PDT). Appreciate messages that say you are moving in the right direction.  Use what you know to move you in new directions. Jupiter's Sabian symbol is 26 Gemini, Winter frost in the woods. The North Node is on the Sabian symbol 26 Pisces, A New Moon that divides its influences. The South Node is on the Sabian symbol 26 Virgo, A boy with a sensor. [19:24] A mini-lesson: A general introduction to what we can expect Saturn to teach us while it's in Aries. In Episode 291, we'll look at Saturn in Aries moving through the houses of the horoscope, and then in Episode 292, a quick look at Saturn in aspect to the planets in your birth chart. [20:30] Saturn takes about 29 years to make a complete circuit of the zodiac, and it spends about two and a half years in each sign. Saturn will be in Aries through Sep. 1, 2025, retrograde back into Pisces until Feb. 13, 2026, then returns to Aries until April 12, 2028. Transits of Saturn describe periods when we're challenged to become more mature, wiser, and more disciplined. [21:45] April's book, Astrological Transits, is an excellent source of information, and she quoted from this book during this episode. [25:57] Saturn was last in Aries between April 7,1996-June 8, 1998 and and Oct. 25, 1998-Feb. 28, 1999. If you were born then, you'll be having your first Saturn return. And if you were born between March 3 1967-April 29 1969, you will be having your second Saturn return. The Saturn return is when transiting Saturn returns to its exact position in your birth chart. You'll review issues related to your maturity, achievement, career, and status.  [26:54] Differences between first and second Saturn returns. [27:45] As Saturn moves into a new sign, we learn to step up our collective societal game and to take responsibility for a new area of society. Saturn in Aries moving through your personal horoscope can show the area or areas of your life where you are personally called to these challenges. Saturn in aspect to your personal planets symbolize the parts of your personality that will be called into service. [28:45] April will return to listener questions in a couple of weeks. This episode takes you on a journey to one of Route 66's most memorable roadside attractions—Uranus, Missouri—a place built entirely on juvenile humor and unexpected charm.Discover the fascinating backstory of how this quirky destination came to be when businessman Louis Keene pivoted from adult entertainment venues to family-friendly (technically) attractions after pushback from the nearby town of St. Roberts. The result? A roadside stop that leans heavily into innuendo while remaining just appropriate enough for all ages. From the moment staff members enthusiastically shout "Welcome to Uranus!" as you enter the Fudge Factory (where "the best fudge comes from Uranus"), to exploring the bizarre Sideshow Museum with its sword-swallowing performer and peculiar taxidermy, every corner of this place is designed to both make you laugh and shake your head in disbelief. We share our experiences playing the Pirate Mini Golf course, visiting the former world's largest belt buckle, and taking photos with the "Mayor of Uranus"—a muffler man statue with its own tornado survival story. As Munzee and geocaching enthusiasts, we also dive into the gaming opportunities available in and around Uranus, including the Saturday Munzee event that brought players from across the country. We explore the differences between these location-based games and how they create unique social experiences for players.Whether you're planning your next Route 66 adventure or just love hearing about America's quirkiest destinations, this episode captures the essence of what makes roadside attractions such a beloved part of American travel culture.
