The Magician's Elephant teaches us that even the impossible can be possible when we open our eyes and hearts to those around us. Baltese is a town where nothing extraordinary ever happens. Recovering from a recent war, it's a lonely place, where young Peter lives a harsh life. Then one day, a magician conjures an elephant from the sky. The creature's appearance sets off a chain of events so remarkable, so impossible, that it changes Baltese forever. As Peter is catapulted into the quest of his life, he discovers a magical bond with the majestic creature and risks everything not only to find his sister, but to set the elephant free.Nancy Harris (Book and lyrics) is an award-winning playwright from Dublin whose work has been produced in Dublin, London, and New York. Her plays include: Somewhere Out There You, Two Ladies, The Beacon, Our New Girl, and No Romance. She has written stage adaptations of The Kreutzer Sonata by Leo Tolstoy, The Red Shoes by Hans Christian Anderson, and a version of Sophocles'        Philoctetes for children: The Man with the Disturbingly Smelly Foot. She wrote the book and co-wrote the lyrics with composer Marc Teitler for the new musicals,  Baddies The Musical. She is a past recipient of The Rooney Prize for Irish Literature, the Stewart Parker Award, and has been a finalist for The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. For television she is the creator and writer of the comedy/drama series “The Dry,” for which she received a BAFTA nomination. @nancyfallonharris Marc Teitler (Music and lyrics) is a composer known for his dark, playful, and otherworldly scores spanning stage musicals, theater, film, and animation. A recipient of the Guardian Innovation Award, his cross-disciplinary work has honed his ability to craft immersive, emotionally resonant storytelling that often draws on the surreal, magical, and uncanny. He is the co-creator of The Grinning Man, the cult hit musical hailed as “crowned by an extraordinary score” (WhatsOnStage), directed by Tom Morris. The show premiered at Bristol Old Vic, transferred to the West End, and inspired international productions, a motion-capture film adaptation directed by Andy Serkis, and a chart-topping cast album. His earlier musical Baddies, co-written with Nancy Harris, was praised by The Guardian as “delightfully witty and endlessly imaginative.” Marc is currently developing an AI-themed musical adaptation of Pinocchio, with Tommy Antonio and Natalie Abrahami. Marc's music has featured in “American Horror Story,” “The Patient,” “Portlandia,” “Bones,” “The Loud House,” and “The Seventh Dimension,” and he has scored numerous animations including Hearts, nominated for the VW Score Award at the Berlin International Film Festival and Stuck On a Sunday by Marc Craste. This week on Whiskey@Work, the guys pour a few glasses and wander through the story behind one of the most recognizable names in Scotch. The conversation starts with the surprisingly scrappy origins of Johnnie Walker, a grocery store kid who blended tea before blending whisky, and the clever ideas that turned his family brand into a global icon. Then things get interesting on the tasting table. Matt D'Hont from Johnson Brothers and Diageo stops by with a lineup that sparks plenty of reactions. The crew explores the brand-new Johnnie Walker Black Cask, a bourbon-barrel take on a classic blend designed to welcome bourbon drinkers into the Scotch world. From there, the night drifts into smoky territory with Lagavulin 11, a sweet-peat Islay that surprises even the skeptics. A Caribbean rum-finished Crown Royal sneaks into the lineup, and the episode wraps with an unexpected palate cleanser that nobody saw coming.Stories, history, a few strong opinions, and several pours later, one thing becomes clear. The best part of whiskey often happens around the conversation that comes with it. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Send us a textA new talk show format! Join our conversation as we discuss various Camino topics to help in planning your first walk or to reminisce about your own pilgrim experiences. We open with on‑the‑ground news from Santiago: fierce winter storms, a rare snowfall, and a temporary closure at Santiago's airport that will reroute some spring arrivals. We separate fact from rumor around a potential papal visit, and even share a peek at a Netflix production setting up a medieval market near the cathedral. Context matters—understanding timing, transport, and crowds helps you walk with more ease and fewer surprises. From there, we dive into the questions every pilgrim wrestles with. Should you book ahead or keep your plans loose? Our panel compares stress levels, seasonal crowds, budget realities, and friendship dynamics, then offers a hybrid approach that preserves spontaneity while safeguarding rest. We also unpack the solo question with honest care: why walking alone can be empowering, how to set clear boundaries when a friend asks to join, and practical safety moves like checking in at cafes, choosing more populated routes, and carrying simple tools that boost confidence. We also say the quiet part out loud: bio breaks and trail etiquette. Hydrate smart, use cafe bathrooms respectfully, carry out your toilet paper, and skip foot care at the table. You'll learn the kit that prevents blisters—toe socks, midday sock changes, and walking your own pace—and the micro‑habits that keep you injury‑free when the crowd moves faster than your body wants. And because a Camino isn't just kilometers, we celebrate small delights: a cold stream that resets swollen feet, a shady tree nap that restores patience, or a dawn birdwatch with Merlin that opens a new window into Spain's landscape. We close with ways to give back, from hospitalero training and albergue service to local food pantries and trail cleanups. Whether you're mapping your first steps or returning for your sixth route, this conversation offers grounded advice, real‑world examples, and the gentle nudge to make choices that match your season of life. If this resonated, follow the show, share it with a pilgrim friend, and leave a quick review—what's your top Camino tip for new walkers?Support the showBecome a supporter of The Camino Cafe Podcast:

Most companies don't have a lead problem, they have a follow-up problem. In this episode of Sharkpreneur, Seth Greene interviews Jason Kramer, Founder & CEO at Cultivize, who breaks down how smart CRM strategy can transform “maybe someday” prospects into real revenue. Jason shares how his team helps manufacturing, roofing, finance, and home service businesses design, implement, and actually use CRM systems like HubSpot and Pipedrive so salespeople stop dropping the ball. With real-world case studies, including a roofing company that turned old quotes into seven-figure sales, Jason shows what's possible when technology, strategy, and authentic follow-up finally line up. Key Takeaways: → Why most growing businesses don't really know which marketing efforts are working, and how a properly set up CRM changes that. → The three simple criteria that define an ideal client for a CRM overhaul and why company size and sales team count matter. → The common problem shared by manufacturing, roofing, finance, and home service companies is that they send hundreds of proposals a year. → A behind-the-scenes case study of a roofing company that revived ignored quotes with a thoughtful, automated follow-up sequence. → How to design automated emails that feel genuine and personal, not robotic or canned, while still running on autopilot. Jason Kramer is the founder of Cultivize, a consulting firm that builds smart CRM strategies for business consultants and growth advisors. With over 20 years in marketing and business development, he helps experts transform their lead management systems into scalable growth engines. His process integrates CRM automation with email nurturing to create trackable, ROI-focused results for B2B and consulting clients. Jason's background includes work with global giants like Virgin Atlantic and Johnnie Walker, but today his focus is on supporting strategic advisors and fractional leaders who need visibility into what's working—and what's not—in their sales process. Ever wondered why your CRM system isn't delivering the results you expected? In this conversation with Jason Kramer, founder and CEO of Cultivize, Cam and Otis explore the often-overlooked human element of customer relationship management."Software does not solve any problem at all," Jason explains, cutting through the tech hype. "It's the people that are understanding how to use the software." This refreshing perspective sets the tone for a conversation that dives deep into the real challenges businesses face when trying to connect marketing efforts with sales results. From unpacking the difference between "first touch" and "last touch" attribution (a critical distinction when measuring marketing effectiveness) to explaining why most businesses struggle with lead nurturing, Jason offers practical insights drawn from his 20+ years of experience working with brands like Virgin Atlantic Airways and Johnnie Walker. What makes this episode particularly valuable is Jason's approach to CRM implementation. Rather than forcing businesses to change their processes to fit a system, he emphasizes understanding their current workflow first: "We're not trying to change the way you do things and make you do something different. We're just trying to improve what you're doing." Whether you're struggling with marketing attribution, sales-marketing alignment, or simply want to get more value from your CRM investment, this conversation offers a refreshingly human-centered approach to technology.More About Jason:Jason Kramer is the founder and CEO of Cultivize, a consulting firm specializing in lead nurturing strategies and “Done for you” custom CRM implementation. Pour yourself a glass of Eagle Rare and join us for a fascinating dive into the invisible technology that's changing the whiskey world forever. Counterfeit whiskey has plagued collectors and enthusiasts for years – empty bottles refilled with cheap spirits, fake seals carefully applied, and unsuspecting buyers paying thousands for fraudulent products. Now, Buffalo Trace, Johnnie Walker, and other premium distillers are fighting back with tiny but powerful NFC chips embedded in their most valuable bottles. We explore exactly how these authentication systems work, from the wires that run through bottle seals to detect opening, to the specialized apps that instantly verify legitimacy. Nathan demonstrates how his Buffalo Trace Antique Collection bottle connects to their proprietary app, confirming both authenticity and sealed status with a simple smartphone tap. While this technology adds just pennies to production costs, it provides invaluable peace of mind to collectors investing in bottles worth hundreds or thousands of dollars. But the implications stretch far beyond your whiskey cabinet. From NFC-embedded fingernails to high-end sneaker authentication, this technology is transforming how we verify everything valuable in our lives. Our discussion ventures into thought-provoking territory as we debate whether implantable NFC chips might someday replace keys, IDs, and credit cards – and whether convenience will ultimately trump privacy concerns. Nathan even reveals how he's used specialized equipment to clone NFC signals, raising important security questions about our increasingly digital identities.Whether you're a whiskey enthusiast concerned about authenticity or simply curious about how technology is reshaping our physical world, this episode offers a perfect blend of practical knowledge and forward-thinking conversation. My guest this week is someone whose career path may not be linear, but it's been anything but boring.  Jason Chebib started out in some of London's top ad agencies, including Ogilvy, Publicis, J. Walter Thompson, and BBDO, where he worked alongside CMOs and future CMOs at brands like Shell, Unilever, Dyson, Mars, and Ford. Then came a pivot—from creating campaigns to teaching the science behind them. Jason traveled the world, training the next generation of marketers in what actually works when it comes to growing brands. Eventually, he jumped back into the deep end—this time client-side at Diageo. First in Amsterdam, working on global strategy for Johnnie Walker, and then in New York as Head of Planning for Diageo North America, where he shaped the future of brands like Smirnoff, Baileys, Guinness, and Captain Morgan. Now fully rooted in the U.S., Jason has worn many hats—from advising agencies to serving as Committee Chair of Agency Relations at the ANA and Co-Chair of the Marketing Society in New York. He brings the kind of perspective that only comes from being deep in the trenches: agency, client, strategy, research, and education. And while he's not one to chase titles, let's just say his next chapter is wide open—and any brand would be lucky to have him. I am proud to call him my friend, my confidant, my mentor: Jason Chebib.

The rain beats down on Santiago de Compostela's ancient stones as Johnny Walker connects from the Parador's Royal Dining Room, overlooking sodden pilgrims braving hailstones and downpours during the spiritually significant Holy Week. Despite the weather, pilgrimage numbers continue to swell as travelers arrive hoping to experience Easter in this sacred city.Fresh from a whirlwind North American tour promoting "The Way, My Way," Johnny shares heartwarming stories of packed theaters and pilgrim connections across major cities. What began as film screenings transformed into impromptu pilgrim gatherings, complete with blessing ceremonies using scallop shells from Santiago's cathedral. Most moving was a 16-year-old viewer who, inspired by the film, publicly committed to walking the Camino—receiving her own blessed shell amidst thunderous cries of "Buen Camino" from fellow audience members.Santiago's Holy Week traditions take center stage in our conversation, from Palm Sunday's blessed branches to Easter Sunday celebrations, with thirteen traditional processions threading through the city's narrow streets. Johnny provides fascinating historical context about the distinctive medieval penitent costumes worn during these processions, clearing up common misconceptions about their origins. We also discuss the Pilgrim Office's revised Compostela requirements, which now recognize journeys of at least 70 kilometers within Spain, and hear from veteran pilgrim Rocco Rossi, who perfectly articulates why so many of us return to the Camino time and again: "If you find something in your life that brings you joy, clarity, and energy, the real question is why aren't you doing it more than once?"
