You know how all your friends bring out different idiosyncrasies of your personality? And they all provide you with different lessons/roles/mirrors back to yourself? I have been lucky enough in my adult life to connect and bond with so many amazing indivi
To know https://www.instagram.com/allnattypatty/?hl=en (@allnattypatty) is to love her. It is truly rare to come across many people in a lifetime who have a self-knowing to the competency level that Patty does. She has been someone who enjoys her moments of reflection and has wisely used them as a forever student of learning herself, to then help teach and inspire all that cross her path in life. Unapologetically and unintentionally entertaining us all through her window into her life through social media, Patty is always making an effort to share with us, educate us, make us laugh, make us feel, but most importantly, just being herself. Being her authentic self is all she knows how to be at this point; and in this episode we hope to inspire everyone who listens to be more of their authentic self. Regardless of how deeply buried that may be for some, or how daunting that journey can be, any form of self-improvement and self-learning towards who you truly are, and not what others expect of you, is worthwhile progress.
Whether you're 10 years into your journey of self-discovery, or 10 days, the time you take to dedicate to knowing yourself and building confidence in what you know is true uniquely about you, is always an enriched investment. In this episode, my great ever evolving friend, Kaitlyn, and I discuss how we are two conscious girls in an ever distracted world. There are endless ways for us all to escape our own minds in today's world; but the value of pausing, practicing presence, and the affirmed knowing of what you truly desire from the life you are in full control over, is invaluable. Making your own brain and thoughts a cozy place you can't get enough of, rather than somewhere you avoid with distraction. Have you ever reached a goal that you had strived for, for months or years even, just to get there and feel...a little lackluster? In this episode, my friend, Collyn and I, talk about how we all fall victim to being jaded and consumed by our egos and our perception of others when we are walking through life; and how often times our experience in the journey towards our goals is so much more powerful than the accomplishment of them. Trusting our gut intuition on what feels in alignment, and worrying less about how our messy process looks, ultimately always guides us to where we need to be.
When you are able to show yourself the amount of self-love and compassion towards yourself, and come to a place of, "If I can deserve and experience love and joy, why can't everyone else?" that's when you can start your community care journey. We were and are a species, just like most animals, that stem from a place of community. A communal bond and love is something that we often find fleeing in today's society. In this episode, my compassionate superstar of a friend, Julie and I, discuss how we can do more to show love to one another as a community. Being able to show yourself love and compassion is one thing, but being able to seek and accept help is so courageous; and we all will always need help and can give support to each other in so many beautiful ways. Book mentioned- All About Love by Bell Hooks
When was the last time you had a major life shift? A move, a new job, a breakup, a loss? Maybe you've had multiple coinciding. It's interesting how these times are always overwhelming, yet the birth of something new and undiscovered as well. In this episode my good friend, Kayle and I, discuss what it's like to go through his real time experience of mourning a breakup and simultaneously moving across the country and losing his identity as a New Yorker. So much change can show you ways you've grown in this past version, as well as breed so much curiosity of what your new version of yourself holds. There's so much excitement since you haven't been there before to learn all the new lessons this next level of you holds.
There are few people in life that meet you exactly where you are without explanation, and at the very same time, expand your mind in ways you never imagined. For me, Jake is one of those people. Jake is someone whose words carry so much weight and impact, and just truly makes everyone he interacts with feel heard and so special. I truly am so delighted to have him join on this episode as we dive into what it means to be an intentional human, treating each other with kindness, and what it means to be our best self for right now.
I had some guests reschedule and, in conjunction, planted the seed and felt called to share a solo episode. I can't explain why this just felt right for this one. It's not in the plans for now to have this become frequent, but it's a fun check-in with just me, your host, 10 episodes in already! *cue the confetti cannon* So enjoy a relaxing episode with me, as I touch on thoughts I've been conscious of lately and am currently working on, as well as giving yourself 30ish minutes to unwind and have a little self-reflection.
The saying goes, "you never truly know what is going on inside someone's head." And as humans we all need to strive in giving space to strangers and friends alike in the idea that we all are navigating our own hurdles in life each and every day. Hans is one of the most emotionally intelligent friends I have, and also one of the most infamous people I know in general. He and I speak in this episode about his strengths in being unapologetically himself, holding space for his friends, and the importance of hoochie daddy walks. Enjoy.
Have you ever asked yourself, what does happiness mean to you? Ever thought about what even brings you happiness? In this episode, we get to explore, and by that I mean two girls with ADHD tangent their way through, what happiness is defined as by us, what the root of procrastination is, and how “why” is one of the most beautiful words in the English language. Shelby is one of the warmest humans I know, so enjoy the gift of her humor, company in this episode, and the little things in life that bring us so much joy.
I challenge you to make it through the first 10 minutes of intro for this episode, without the infectious giggles of my dear friend, Sam, and I giving you a laugh. And if you can make it through that, and the meat of the episode, you will be delightfully rewarded with a special 15 minute bonus segment at the end of this episode. My cup is overflowing with joy after this episode, full of light-hearted banter, reflections of growth in gratitude, and a reminder to us all to not take life too seriously.
The beautifully rare soul of a human, Vernon, joins me this episode to hit on so many passion filled topics for us both. Whether it's helping brighten a stranger's day, or being that therapist role in his friends' lives for advice, Vernon is all about spreading the good energy to everyone around him. We discuss how all of us as individuals truly harness the power to make a positive impact on every single person we interact with, and the blessings/wisdom we can all gain when we all cast our social nets wide. Please enjoy this episode that I hope the good energy is pulsing through tangibly within our connection, and leaves a lasting impression on you after listening.
A former podcast host, and someone who loves to dive deep on any topic, Dom joins me on this episode to discuss the costs of remaining a people pleaser, and the mental prisons we build to avoid confrontation. I personally was laughing the entire conversation with Dom when we recorded it, and again when I was playing it back during editing. I know you'll immediately love her, just as I did the first time we met, and relate to how learning to be direct/get what you desire, is a lifelong muscle we are learning to strengthen. Please enjoy and laugh along, as we break down the mental costs of being a people pleaser. This episode, I host the first male guest on the podcast! My friend Chris and I discuss how his upbringing as a soccer player has, and continues to, make imprints on his character on and off the field. We learn how his parent's upbringing, showing examples of reliability, learning and honing in on his skills as a team leader, emotional intelligence, and his tenacity to be ever evolving as a student of life and the game, have all crafted his character as a human. Life is a team sport, and honoring his self-accountability to how he adds to his teammates, is sure to inspire you to reflect on what values you are wanting to carry on, and what you may want to sharpen up on. In this episode, one of my longest best friends, of nearly 20 years, and I dive into her journey of feeling resistance in different chapters of her lifetime. We have all noticed funny feelings as a child, shifted or lost a former identity, left a former partner, and learned from these experiences. But this episode weaves together the constant theme of resisting our authentic selves and how it can translate into multiple aspects/timestamps in our life. Please enjoy and hear Jackie's amazing story of vulnerability, growth, and gratitude within herself, and giggle along as we are so excited to be with one another on this wild chatty conversation.
In this episode, please enjoy this conversation between me and my best friend, Sam. She is a huge inspiration to me starting this podcast, and a huge support helping me learn along this journey as a fellow entrepreneur. Eavesdrop on just one of our chats, and listen as we discuss dualities, dichotomies, and being better as a human collective at creating safe spaces for people to be themselves. Sam is one of the most inspiring people in my life. She is ever evolving, "forever a student," and always wants to be an inspiration to all she encounters in this life to be vulnerable, honest, and challenging narratives. I'm so grateful for her friendship, her perspective, her constant growth, and for you to share this conversation with us. So how the heck did we even get here? What is this podcast going to be about? How did I come up with the idea of sharing conversations on the internet? Why should I be hosting a podcast? All of these questions plus a little background on the podcast name is explained in this brief initial solo episode with me, Becca.
