I can imagine the elevator pitch for this one now, and it reads similar to the start of the bible… or something like that: “In the beginning, there was a devil and angel who realized their actions cancel each other out and they become best friends.”Good Omens is six part adventure about how the demon Crowley, played by David Tennant and the angel Aziraphale, played by Michael Sheen kinda save the world from Armageddon. This show is packed with talent: Frances McDormand, (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Fargo) and John Hamm (Mad Men, Baby Driver). Whoever the casting director was here deserves a bonus. Every character was played perfectly. Sheen’s and Tennant’s subtle nuances and their heavenly bromance make their performances shine.Good Omens doesn’t make you think, doesn’t try to be more than it should, and ended before it got boring. Every episode is filled with twists, turns and jokes; especially the flashback episode. It was sad that it was so short, but oh it was it satisfying. The last episode did set up a possible second season so, we’ll see what happens.A holy (unholy?) recommendation from me.Jessica, Jessica, Jessica. When you look at the Marvel Cinematic universe, you have three types of films and shows. You have the films like the Avengers, designed for a mass audience, you have the television shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that hint about powers and the reaping, but never go as far. Lastly, you have what Netflix has managed to do with Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones (I like to pretend Iron Fist isn’t a thing… The Hand?? give me a break). Marvel’s Netflix partnership managed to connect the real world consequences of “powered humans” with the slight fantasy of super heroes. No easy feat. And out of all the series that have been floating around over the past decade, Jessica Jones has shined tremendously. Why? Because if someone actually had super strength, Jessica Jones would be your “hero.”The final(?) season of Jessica Jones is a marvel (ha, get it) to observe. Jessica (played spectacularly Krysten Ritter) has grown tremendously over the past three years, even at the point of caring about the people around her. Marvel and Netflix’s Jones has always tried to mix horror and super human abilities over the course of the series and manages to do this well. Heck, we don’t even get bored as we did in episode 1 of Iron Fist or Season 3 of Luke Cage (let’s be honest tho Alfre Woodard is brilliant as Mariah Stokes… err… Dillard).Season 3 of Jessica Jones has them fighting against a crazy smart sociopath. He’s killed a lot of people and unlike past villains actually manages to give Jessica a run for her money. #StillWaitingforKillgraveToShowUp
