Sources tell me Prince Harry has been gently but firmly urging Meghan to reach out to her father, Thomas Markle, who remains in intensive care in the Philippines after emergency surgery. Meanwhile, insiders say Miley Cyrus had quietly been planning her own proposal—collecting ring inspo and looping in trusted friends—only for Maxx Morando to beat her to the punch with a surprise engagement. And in another corner of Hollywood, sources close to the Schwarzenegger family reveal that Christopher Schwarzenegger was privately frustrated after being mistaken online for his half-brother Joseph Baena in recent holiday photos, a mix-up he’s increasingly fed up with. Vivian sat down with Cole Walliser to explore the surprisingly complex finances of creating those iconic slow-motion red carpet moments. Cole breaks down what directors actually earn from viral GlamBot videos, how he built a business around a single innovative camera technique, and why going viral doesn't automatically translate to getting paid. He answers the big questions about balancing creative vision with commercial viability, managing the feast-or-famine nature of freelance directing, what building wealth looks like and how being a filmmaker outside of Hollywood has shaped his approach to money and success. Cole also shares what it's really like working with the biggest names in entertainment, from Ariana Grande to Miley Cyrus, and why protecting his creative independence has been just as important as chasing the biggest paychecks. "Well, I always tell actors to always bring your A game to every audition. Because you never know. Like exactly what Matt just said. I have extensive notes on actor's that I've read. And I go, 'This guy is really good we can bring him in for another part.' Sometimes for the same project. Sometimes I go, 'Oh yeah we are going to bring him in for this project down the road.' So you know what I mean, you always bring your A game to every audition. And you don't get it, you don't get it. There's a million factors that go into the casting process."Today's episode is a sit down with Casting Director Lisa London. This year, there were a few records that delivered less-than-optimal returns on either the Hot 100 or the Billboard 200 – and they all came from former Disney pop stars. Demi Lovato's latest album peaked at number nine on the Billboard 200, where it spent one week and then fell off; Selena Gomez's record with Benny Blanco peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, but no songs cracked the top 40; and Miley Cyrus's album is her shortest charting project to date. On this episode of Switched On Pop, Nate and Reanna try to get to the bottom of the so-called “Disney curse,” and why these artists are unable to recapture their past commercial success. Songs discussed: Demi Lovato – Here All Night Selena Gomez, benny blanco – Sunset Blvd Miley Cyrus – End of the World Demi Lovato – Sorry Not Sorry Demi Lovato – Heart Attack Demi Lovato – Skin of my Teeth Demi Lovato – Fast Kesha – JOYRIDE. Demi Lovato – Frequency Demi Lovato – Kiss Todd Terry, Martha Wash – Keep On Jumpin' Demi Lovato – Sorry To Myself Selena Gomez, A$AP Rocky – Good For You Kygo, Selena Gomez – It Ain't Me Selena Gomez, Marshmallo – Wolves Selena Gomez, benny blanco, Gracie Abrams – Call Me When You Break Up benny blanco, Selena Gomez, J Balvin, Tainy – I Can't Get Enough J Balvin, Willy William – Mi Gente Selena Gomez, benny blanco – Bluest Flame Selena Gomez, benny blanco, The Marías – Ojos Tristes Miley Cyrus, Big Sean – Love Money Party Miley Cyrus – Flowers Miley Cyrus – Easy Lover Miley Cyrus, Naomi Campbell – Every Girl You've Ever Loved Learn more about your ad choices. Welcome back to Lez Hang Out, the podcast that is hardlaunching Ellie's engagement! This week, Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) hang out with very special guest, Ellie's fiancée, Bailey Katsumata-Smith (@baileykatsu), to talk about why iconic Disney Channel Original Series Hannah Montana, Should've Been Gay. If you were around in 2006, whether you were an elementary school kid or a high school teen, you were probably watching Hannah Montana. This series was such a massive deal that Bailey was bullied in the 4th grade for not being allowed to watch it. Hannah Montana follows the chaotic double life of Miley Stewart (played by real life queer icon Miley Cyrus) as she navigates being a “regular high schooler” while hiding her secret drag identity as pop star Hannah Montana from everyone except her very best girlfriend, Lilly. This girl spends 4 whole seasons literally going in and out of the largest closet we've ever seen, a closet she and Lilly go in specifically to transform into their flamboyant alter egos, Hannah Montana and Lola Luftnagle. Miley's wig collection likely rivals Chappell Roan's and we all had a pair of those baggy cargo shorts that Lilly was always rocking while skateboarding into view. Yet, Disney still forced us to watch 4 seasons of Miley and Lilly's chemistry being tossed aside for lame, forgettable boys. We know one thing for sure, Hannah Montana Should've Been Gay. Don't forget to stream Bailey's debut single, Bittersweet Bitch, for Olivia Rodrigo vibes and a sick Hannah Montana inspired guitar solo. Co-written and produced with Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, and Grammy-winning composer Simon Franglen (the man behind Céline Dion's “My Heart Will Go On”), the track releases as a single November 14, 2025, ahead of the full soundtrack on December 12.Miley calls the collaboration “musical medicine,” saying the song's themes of unity, healing, and rising from ashes mirror her own life after fire destroyed her home. The official Avatar teaser already teases the lyric “Even through the ashes in the sky / Baby, when we dream we dream as one.”Analytic Dreamz dives into the full context: returning cast (Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet), new addition Oona Chaplin, the Sully family's next chapter, and why this Mark Ronson-powered anthem is being positioned as the next generational cinematic moment. First up, Christopher and Tom talk about artists who have come back when many people had bet against them – from Tina Turner to The Rolling Stones to Miley Cyrus to The Chicks. In light of the recent Oasis reunion, we have some incredible clips of both Liam and Noel Gallagher from almost 25 years ago, years before their split and decades before their reunion. It’s a great, and often very funny, collection of comments and insight from the brothers. Plus, we talk to our good friend Bill Welychka, whose interviews with Liam and Noel are what we’re highlighting this week. And Bill has some great insights into the brothers. Speaking of brothers, The Kinks were fueled by the Davies brothers, Ray and Dave – and they, like the Gallaghers, created incredible music while also feuding bitterly with each other. This chat is from 1979, as the Kinks were promoting the Low Budget, which was somewhat of comeback for them. And Christopher is going to love what he has to say about songwriting. Then we feature a brief couple of clips with a woman who had two very different hits in the ‘70s. Yvonne Elliman was featured on the Jesus Christ Superstar album in the early ‘70s and then on the Saturday Night Fever album a few years later. The story of Yvonne’s big break is a great one… and she tells it well. We’ll also hear how she walked away from a deal that could have meant millions of dollars in the long run – and how she dealt with that. And we wrap up the show with Cool Song Facts… in which we find out what huge Stones song got the thumbs down by Mick and Keith… thank god they were outvoted. Famous Lost Words, hosted by Christopher Ward and Tom Jokic, is heard in more than 100 countries worldwide and on radio stations across Canada, including Newstalk 1010 Toronto, CJAD 800 Montreal, 580 CFRA Ottawa, AM 800 CKLW Windsor, 610 CKTB St Catharines, CFAX Victoria and 91x in Belleville. It is in the Top 20% of worldwide podcasts based on the number of listeners in the first week.
