I will be the first to admit that I did not read the Watchmen graphic novel that graced the shelves of stores in 1986 with its presence. As someone who does indulge in the causal graphic novel, the style was a bit much for me. But that was the point. Alan Moore’s messy alternate universe where Richard Nixon’s Watergate was never exposed and the clock was always a few mins before midnight was the first graphic novel to demand the attention of serious literary critics. The novel also gained the attention of every Hollywood writer who hoped to turn a master story into a visual masterpiece.

You never thought you would be seeing this guy again. Breaking Bad may have ended in 2013, but Jesse Pickman’s story is not over. It’s time for him ride into the sunset one more time. The film picks up right where the show left off, Jesse has escaped in the infamous El Camino and is fleeing New Mexico for parts unknown. Aaron Paul gives a command performance. He has grown so much as an actor since putting on the yellow jumpsuit. The best part of the El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, is that even a casual watcher can enjoy it. Although it lives in the Breaking Bad universe and we get to see a lot of characters from the show, even Walt makes an appearance and there are a lot of callbacks, it is a great movie. Vince Gillian does an amazing job once again crafting a riveting story both told in words and cinematically. One of the best aspects about El Camino is the juxtaposition between what Jesse went through and what he’s experiencing the present. Small example: Jesse slinks over to Skinny Pete’s and Badger’s to hideout. As he taking a shower to clean off the cage, he flashes back get drenched by the white supremacists. This scene sets the tone for the rest of the movie. The flashbacks happen frequently, but always with purpose. The movie is just as dark and intense as the show ever was. It does hangs a little long in some scenes and could’ve shaved 30 minutes off, but Aaron Paul is amazing so it doesn’t matter.

Warning: This weeks episode discusses sexual violence and subject matter that might be disturbing for some listeners. If you or someone else you know is a victim of sexual assault or abuse call 1-800-656-4673 or speak to a trusted friend, law enforcement or trusted adult. For more information click here. What Netflix has done with Unbelievable is… incredible.Unbelievable follows the story of a woman named Marie (not her real name… more on this later) who was raped in her apartment. Marie, transitioning out of foster care went to the police with her story but (shocker) was not believed. The first episode of this eight part mini-series is frustrating to watch. We all know how this works, a woman reports an assault to a police officer, the police start to investigate, doubt sets in, police intimidate woman, woman recants, her life is ruined. Kaitlyn Dever plays this dance extremely well. And while we know how this works and we understand how this is going to go, we can’t help but hope she won’t crack under pressure. But she does because Unbelievable is based on a true story.ProPublica published a story with the Marshall Project in 2009 about this entire ordeal. The woman in this story is called Marie, so they can protect her name. Netflix didn’t take many liberties in episode one, sticking almost line by line to the subject matter at hand. Sure parts of it is compressed, but that makes sense for a show that needs to be finished in an hour. The cadence makes sense for the subject matter. The show is raw and once the first episode ends, you want to know more, even if you’re not expecting the complete jump in time that the trailer calls for.For most people, the show will be difficult to watch, even for an audience that is well aware of the Me Too moment. We know, for example, that the officers questioning Marie as a young woman are not handling the subject matter appropriately; they did after all coerce her into recanting her confession (true story BTW), but we also know a show like this is not going to give us all the answers we need to get a satisfactory ending either. Sure, it’s easy to think the producers are trying to tell us to believe women at all costs, but you have to remember, the sexual assault is only the foundation for the storytelling, not the entire house. Unbelievable is a story of two detectives who have to let down their guard to work together to solve a crime. There was very little that I disliked about this series, the one glaring moment comes in episode three when Toni Collette spews out this “This is my case” bullshit that permeates every detective show ever. But not every show is perfect. But don’t let this one thing stop you from watching this show. My recommendation: watch episode one and two and then put the series down. Come back a week later and watch some more. Don’t binge this if you can avoid it, but make sure you watch.Meet Alma, a woman whose life is going nowhere until she sees her dead dad and gets in a car accident. She wakes up from a coma and realizes she has the ability to travel through time and embarks on a mission to save her father from the accident the killed him, or maybe she just has schizophrenia. One of these two things is happening in Amazon’s Undone. This show is freaking amazeballs! The art style is incredible, although it isn’t unique. For everyone who doesn’t have a film degree, they used a technique called rotoscoping where you cut an actor out of the film. Normally this is a part of compositing e.g. the actor is placed in a new scene or something is being added behind them. In this case, they filmed the actors in the studio, cut them out and shaded them. This way the subtle nuances each actor brings to the character is saved, something that would have been lost if they just made a cartoon to begin with. This process gave the show so much freedom, from watching Alma’s mother turn into an older woman, crumble into bones, grow up and start over again, to launching Alma into outer space during a fight with her sister or her world literally breakdown and rebuild around her. What could have been just a gimmick is a vital piece of storytelling, that becomes a physical manifestation of what’s going on in her head. Some parts of Alma’s character is reminiscent of the worst of Juno, but regardless Rosa Salazar gives a powerhouse performance. Bob Odenkirk plays her number two, her dead dad just trying to do right by her. The two are great together and have fantastic chemistry that translates through the cartoon shading of the series. The writing is powerful and thought-provoking. Creators Raphael Bob-Waksberg and Kate Purdy, both from Bojack Horseman, give us another character to root for as they suffer through a horrific and mind-bending time in their life.If you like movies like Scanner Darkly, A Beautiful Mind and Eternal Sunshine on Spotless Mind then Undone is right up your alley. The show did have a somewhat predictable ending, so here’s hoping for another season!

How far would you go for your country? How do you keep two identities a secret and keep them straight? Welcome to the life of Eli Cohen a spy for Israel. He's a man plucked from a department store to be an uncover agent for Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency. His mission is to get deep inside the highest ranks of Syrian society and steal their secrets.Sasha Baron Cohen finally has a chance to spread his wings. It's his prime opportunity to shed his Ali G and Borat personas. In many scenes, you can see the struggle Eli must go through especially as women are throwing themselves at him and he thinks of home and his family. The most dramatic being after transitioning out of his Kamel identity and being confronted at a department store. (No spoilers)The series uses color in interesting ways. Often the only scenes that become vibrant are when Eli is deep undercover as Kamel. When the story cuts back Israel the scenes are dim and desaturated. This is to reflect Cohen's mental state at the moment. The life of Kamel is exciting and bright and Israel dull and uninspiring.Text quickly becomes important to the series: Syrian letters transform to english, words are written around the room as the character scratches them out and the messages Cohen sends back are translated from Morse code to English. The only real downside is the season is too short. Some of it feels a little rushed, a little overdramatic and maybe if there were 8 episodes Cohen could have more time to flesh out the character. In the end, it's a great drama, an amazing true story, and a pretty good spy series. Not James Bond, but still plenty of good sleuthing.Subscribe to the weekly email: https://www.watchagainpodcast.com/sign-up

Netflix's "Dear White People V3" and "Disenchantment"

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 5, 2019 15:13

When Netflix first announced they would be making Dear White People way back in early 2017, I was pretty excited. After all, the film was pretty good even if the trailers gave away the best moments of the film. Season 3 continues the strong tradition people have learned to expect from past seasons: A strong cast, a completely socially aware series and enough laughs to keep pushing you into the next episode. That’s not to say “Dear White People” is without its flaws. As the entirely self aware cast explains, a third season of a Netflix show struggles to stay relevant, even with the best of minds. Just ask “House of Cards” or “Stranger Things.” But it can be done. In tis case our series lead Sam White (played by the incredibly talented Logan Browning) is off on an adventure of self-discovery while there is no real director for the season. While I am unsure if the whole “what is my purpose” thing is good for any series, Browning manages to make things work, even if it means she runs the risk of fading into the role of a secondary character. In fact the directionless plot forces each episode to tackle new problems in the traditional format of what we’ve come to expect from a cable show. For those who liked Sam’s activist quest and the resident’s of Parker-Armstrong’s fight for… integrated… or segregated… housing… you’ll be disappointed. Our heroes are suffering from the same fatigue the nation is suffering from. People are tired of protesting. In a nutshell, people are getting significantly older and reshuffling their priorities. This is done on purpose. Remember, we are shuffling things up. Our characters are even watching some new television shows including a very woke version of Hulu’s “Handmaid’s Tale” (Nursemaid Diaries) and a very disturbing (yet culturally accurate) take on anything Tyler Perry has ever made called “Mista Griggins.”This shuffling of the narrative (and urge to kill the narrator) keeps things fresh, but the deeper storytelling that made Season 2 the original powerhouse that dove into the diversity of Black America is missing. Can we please learn more about the motivations behind Colandria’s lifestyle and perhaps dive more into the origins of Troy’s need to sleep with his professor. I said, it’s missing, but the storytelling is not forgotten. You need to watch Season 3, because it’s good. I just cant help thinking we could have done better.Moar Matt Groening! We went to the future with Futurama, the present with the Simpsons, and now let’s go back in time with Disenchantment. Let’s get this out there right off the bat. This first season is rough. There is a lot of fan service. This show gave me the giggles and warm feels with call backs to Futurama and the Simpsons. This helped make up for the weak story. The reason I wanted to recommend this is because there is a lot of promise for the next season coming out September 30th on Netflix. We follow the story of the Princess Tiabeanie “Bean,” her demon friend, Luci, and a runaway elf, Elfo. Bean just wants to get drunk, fight, and screw. She’s a Bart Simpson, but you know a woman. Unfortunately, this is the majority of the first season. This season’s arch is all about finding the elixir of life, but it’s her father’s, King Zog, story and Bean and the gang are just kinda in it. This is where the show took a left turn, but it turned it right around with the last two-three episodes. Bean’s character is forced to make hard choices for the lives of her friends and the setup for season 2 left me wanting more. The voice acting is one of my favorite parts. You’ll find lots of favorites from Eric Andre, John DiMaggio, Billy West, Nat Faxon, and Abbi Jaconson. Matt Groening and crew did an amazing job finding voice acting royalty. If you like Futurama and the Simpsons you will like this show. Keep your expectations low, this is not Matt Groening finest hour, but it’s not his worst either. Watch a few episodes you’ll end up liking it in the end.

If you’ve ever sat through a church service, then HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones is going to feel pretty familiar to you. If you haven’t, then Danny McBride’s interpretation of the holy rollers from the mega church is going to fill you with a little more than the spirit. The Righteous Gemstones is Danny McBride’s latest and significantly funny project. The show follows a family of ministers, led by Eli (the patriarch) Jesse, the first born who is writhing in his father’s shadow, Judy, the very confused but charming middle sister, and Kevin who is your stereotypical youth minister. These “men of God” is extremely rich, we’re taking Joel Osteen, 16,000 people mega church rich. The show moves quickly from plot point to plot point. Jesse is blackmailed after he he caught snorting coke off a table while on a mission trip to China and engages his younger family members to help save his reputation. In typical McBride fashion. the situation gets worse, every passing moment (Jesse and Judy argue that they should go back to the church and give the money back… they then pivot into a 60/40 split instead). The Gemstones is another fantastic HBO show that deserves your attention right now, even if it is for just another week. Because Gideon shows up and all hell breaks loose. Excuse the reference. I’ll pray later tonight. When you are sitting on a plane you can be really starved for entertainment. Luckily, The Princess Bride was available and boy does this movie still hold up! It is full of fantastic catch phrases and an amazing cast. The heart of the movie is a grandfather trying to share a tradition of story telling with his sick grandson. Surrounding that is the story of Princess Buttercup and her swashbuckling handsome masked hero, Westley, trying to save her evil Prince Humperdinck. Aren’t these names the best?Joining Westley on his quest are a hilarious cast of characters:Ingio Montoya - a man hell bent on finding the 6 fingered man that killed his fatherFezzik - a more well spoken Hodor of the 80sVizzini - He’s more of a villain but Wallace Shawn’s performances is inconceivableMiracle Max - He lives in a tree and performs miracles but he would fit better in a Manhattan Deli. One of the most memorable Billy Crystal momentsThis movie is great for the whole family - there’s love, fighting, wits, Billy Crystal, Andre the Giant, great story. Grab your kids, grab your wife and sit down and watch this movie.AVOID:VenomThis movie is poison. I somehow made it through this, but the one reason was there was nothing else to watch 35,000 ft. Nothing about this movie makes sense: Why is Tom hardy in it? Why is Venom is a good guy? Where is Spiderman? Why is it in San Francisco? Why isn’t Venom just eating all the people? Why am I watching this? It’s a never ending train wreck of extraterrestrial proportions- don’t waste your time.

    Netflix's "In The Dark" & Amazon's "Forever"

The first thing you need to know is that In the Dark is not perfect by any means. It’s questionable portrayal of people living with blindness is fumbly to say the least. The plot can become insufferable (are all the cops questionable?). And Murphy (our main and favorite anit-hero played by Perry Mattfeld) has a very unusual attitude towards everyone who gives her advice in real life.In the Dark follows Murphy and her amazingly cute guide dog Pretzel as they go for a walk in Chicago. When Murphy arrives to meet a friend of hers named Tyson, she discovered he’s been murdered. From then on, she’s on the hunt for his killer. Murph doesn’t make the best detective, so naturally she teams up with a real detective - Dean who is also on the case to try and solve things. In the Dark isn’t a week by week crime drama, but instead, each piece of the puzzle is solved week by week in a slow agonizing basis. When not solving crime, Murphy is hanging out with her roommate Jess Damon (Brooke Markham) and her coworker/ brand-new-boss Felix Bell (Morgan Krantz). They have the kind of friendship/ relationship you can expect from a CW film, filled with love and then during the rising action is strained until the climax when they make it all work again. Oh and there’s a love interest that goes on and off the grid depending on what episode we’re on.Look, I couldn’t stop watching the show. It was pretty good and held my attention. I say give it a watch on a Friday night if you’re not looking for anything too serious, but don’t want to dive into the silly side of things. Watch. This show is a roller coaster and there is so much to unpack! Every episode is a turn in another direction that had me guessing what was going to become of June and Oscar till the end. What happens after you die? Forever is a show in a long line trying to answer it. Oscar (Fred Armisen, back again!) and June (Maya Rudolph) are a couple who aimed to keep everything calm. This show captures beautifully the monotony of life: the same meals over and over and over, the same trips, the same routine. Then one day you die. Forever very quickly propels you through their lives and more importantly to their deaths (it’s kinda a spoiler, but not really) to ask a much bigger question: Just because you’re dead, does that mean your life is over? For June, after Oscar’s sudden death she was ready to jumpstart her career and her new post-Oscar life before she choked to death on a macadamia nut. She awakes with Oscar, elated and standing over her. The greet after a year apart and start their afterlife in post mortem pleasantville. So who will they become now? Do they fall back in step with the old ways? The trailer does not prepare you for what this first season holds and neither will I.This show is beautiful in so many ways: the cinematography, the editing, the character development, the story. I fell in love and hated the characters all at the same time. I was rooting for them to stay together and figure it out or just cut bait and run.Fred Armisen gives a stellar performance but Maya Rudolph really owns this show. She has come so far since Saturday Night Live and I love every moment of it. I have never seen her in a drama, but damn can this woman act.I loved this show, it reminded a lot of Pushing Up Days, Portlandia, and Better off Dead. Grab your significant other, call your parents tell them you’re sorry and WATCH THIS SHOW.

This explains his where did this guy from-ness. In his own right Jack Quaid is great actor he crushed it in the boys.Where am he going with this, The Boys was already reviewed. Well, this week we like Jack Quaid in something else, Plus One. To live life on the each means playing whatever is on the top of the queue and let the bouquet fall where it may. The wife wanted to watch some light hearted and this rom-com was smacking us in the face- so we clicked. This movie is so funny! The plot is so in your face it’s like a toddler wrote in crayon on the way, but that doesn’t matter. What could be as something as horrible as the The Valentines Day movie was more like 500 Days of Summer, but happier and Always be my maybe. Jack Quaid and his costar Maya Erskine have fantastic chemistry. She reminded of the emo version of Ali Wong, but I found Maya funnier. Jack and Maya have this fantastic repertoire of back and forth slights that just had us on the floor.Ed Begley comes out of nowhere as Jack’s father and hilarious and heartfelt, especially the scene when he picks him up from his bachelor party.I was expecting an eye roller, but instead I got a side splitter. Remember the last Super Bowl? On top of it being incredibly boring, they constantly played a trailer for Hanna. “Watch episode 1 now for free!” it kept repeating.Episode 1 was pretty interesting, so was episode 2, and 3, and 4. Things are sometimes more enjoyable if you go into them blind. I vaguely remembered the trailer and the one thought of “I might like this.” Boy was I right. This show is basically Jason Borne, but if he was a 16 year old girl, with no technology but can kill you with a bobby pin (hint hint). What is different though it is not just a super secret spy show. This show is about Hanna and her discovering a world outside her cave. Backstory: Hanna’s father kidnaps her from a hospital and after a long and harrowing journey through random Romania, they hid out in the woods for 15 years. We’ve seen this set up so many times. Half the time the actor just plays everything off like a dumb dim wit. But, when Hanna asks, “What’s a text message?” She sounds sincere, you feel her innocence and naivety come through in her performance. Then in the next scene she jumps around a room killing three guys, it’s utterly fantastic.Action shows sometimes suffer from a pacing problem. The producers try to balance the violence to drama ratio and this show isn’t without fault. What is great about it, is the story is pieced together so nicely. Take Mission Impossible for instance, 3 minutes into the movie you know who’s gunna die and how to save the world. Hanna is more subtle, it is by no means is groundbreaking, but it lures you along without giving away too many clues to keep you interested. On top of all this, Amazon once again just makes a really pretty show. The cinematography is captivating, you feel her isolation, wether around people, the forest, or especially her father. If you liked season 1, get excited a second is on the way!

A thought provoking statement from a surprisingly thought provoking documentary from Netflix. So much of this movie makes you cringe, makes you question, makes you wonder who is following you on the internet.Has anyone been able to forget 2016? Lots of us are sitting idly waiting for 2020, while others are curious if Britain really wants to leave the EU. Wouldn’t it be amazing if there was a villain. Just one bad guy, sitting high in their villa on a mountain top petting a cat, just waiting for James Bond to burst through the door so they can slowly turn around.Apparently, there is! Introducing Cambridge Analytica. These master marketers are the group behind the Donald Trump and the Brexit campaign. According to the doc this group has mined not only your Facebook, but as well as everyone your friends with. They claimed to have 5000 data points on every voter in the United States. Their philosophy was not about moving the needle in large numbers, but moving the needle the right way, with the right people. When reflecting back on the 2016 election you heard whole states were flipped by only a few counties. So maybe it’s true? The documentary claims they have been putting their thumb on scale for decades.Since 2016, many have wondered how things turned out the way they did. A few people have been standing up and answering. Here’s where we meet Brittany Kaiser, former Director of Business Development for Cambridge Analytica and David Carroll, Associate Professor at Parsons School of Design. Much of the movie bounces between their two lives as they run the media circuit, speak to reporters and sometimes Congress.Brittany is the prime whistleblower and emboldened after the fall of Cambridge has been spilling all the behind the scenes secrets. David is suing Cambridge for his data, because if it’s his. If he wins it’ll become a landmark case.Reading some comments a few have said, this is liberal left-wing trash. The doc definitely has a viewpoint. Cambridge Analytica is evil, they put Donald Trump in power and put Britain on a path out of the EU. What is more important are the questions it asks.Who controls my data?Should data privacy be a basic human right? What’s in those privacy policies? How much of my life should be on the internet?I still think my phone is listening to me, I don’t want believe I’m a creature of habit, but everyone should watch this doc. At least, that’s what the random guy on the internet told me to tell you.HOLY FOOD PORN, BATMAN! You guys are going to LOVE The Chef Show. Chef Roy Choi + super famous actor Jon Favreau star in this series. These two cool dudes met while filming “Chef,” in 2014. Roy helped Jon accurately portray how chefs work, move around in the kitchen, etc…and they’ve been best buds ever since.I enjoy this show because it’s so obvious how much they really love food and GOOD cooking. There’s a nice mix of funny banter, yummy recipes and insightful tips, tricks and advice. PLUS, you get to watch some of Hollywood’s famous actors/stars (Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bill Burr) and some other super awesome chefs like Momofuku creator David Chang (who also happens to be the BEST person to follow on the gram) and Binging with Babish creator Andrew Rea. Going to film school you are forced to watch movies beyond number. You sit through lecture after lecture about the French New Wave (which I still don’t understand), German Expressionism (I’m looking at you Eisenstein) and Italian Neo-Realism (please someone find my bicicletta). All this knowledge sort of sits in the back of your mind until you see something and exclaim...Watching the first season of Documentary Now! gave me all the film giggles. Each episode begins with ever classic Helen Mirren luring you in with this sense of prestige and sophistication. Oh, what you actually get is something of different sort. Documentary Now! isn’t just for film nerds who get all the little jokes, it’s full of silly and down right side splitting moments. Fred Armisen and Bill Hader star in every episode, sometimes playing multiple parts. These guys jump all over time and place: mother and daughter who are shut-ins in dilapidated plantation home (Grey Gardens spoof), 1920s doc on the Eskimo (Nanook of the North spoof), searching for El Chingon (Vice/Vox spoof), and a small Icelandic town that celebrates Al Capone every year. The show is backed up by great writers as well, Seth Meyer, Fred, Bill and Duffy Boudreau (Barry, Big Mouth). They not only pay homage to great cinema, but the show is so damn smart. The clues to what they reference are hidden gems laced through out every episode. So you don’t have to be a film snob to actually enjoy it. The humor is easy. It bounces between high brow and slap-stick.If you like Bill Hader and Fred Armisen and good (I mean good) Saturday Night Live you’re going to love this show. If you’re a cinephile you’re going to love this show. If you liked This is Spinal Tap you’re going to love this show. Alas, as with most things not every episode is perfect (much like Saturday Night Live). Episodes 1, 2, 3 are probably my favorites. This show is an easy watch, grab some popcorn, a bingo card, and start laughing. For a show about the future, Years & Years feels awfully familiar. This dystopian series starts exactly where we are about to go, with President Trump’s reelection right on the horizon. The Lyon family is living in the United Kingdom, going about their lives in the most banal of fashion. And in most respects, this is a fantastic way to start the series, because we are doing exact same thing in real life. Years, created by Russell T. Davies, is a join collab between HBO and BBC. And it has to be, in order to explain the brilliance of what Years is.Like a Steinbeck novel, we meet the Lyon family. We have Muriel a boomer who is quite comfortable in the countryside. We also have Stephen who is a banker and his wife, Celeste who is the accountant. We also get Rosie, Daniel, Viktor and Edith. We are going to follow this family over the course of the next 30+ years. At the end of the first episode the president drops a nuclear bomb on an island outside of China. The bomb is dropped over politics as usual, a land dispute that’s typical of the Chinese island strategy we’ve seen over the past decade. The world seems to be coming to an end, but as we find out later, China backs down, the United States wins… and there are consequences. Years makes a time leap in the future and we see the consequences have profound effects. One of those consequences is the rise of Vivienne Rook (played by the exceptionally incredible Emma Thompson), a Trumpian like figure who will literally say anything to stir the pot. iThe Lyons try and adjust to a changing world, for have a rough time doing so.A central theme in the show is “what’s going to happen next.” During each episode, one of our protagonists will look towards the screen, break the fourth wall and ask the question. Then the series will jolt us forward in time. And as an audience member, we look forward to that time jump. It’s brilliant. This entire series is brilliant. Watch.

Did you ever wonder what you would get if you tossed It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Trailer Park Boys, and the word play of Seinfeld and Larry David Show in a blender and hit puree? You’d get Letterkenny! Apparently not all is well in this town of 5000 inhabitants. Thank god Wayne and his crew are here to help them solve it.Roster-o-charactersThe Hicks:Wayne (main character)- the toughest guy in Letterkenny with a brain to bootKaty - Smart, snarky, girl next doorDaryl - Dim witted, oddly bright and lovable foolSquarely Dan - I’s don’ts knows hows this mans talks likes this all’s the’s timesThe Skids- hopped up meth dealers who dance in front of convenience store. The Jocks - two dumbass hockey players with their own slang and barely a brain cell between them. Oh and by the way they are both dating Katy. Yes, both of them.Townsfolk- Sex starved bartender who talks like she’s like a porno, a closeted pastor who lusts after Wayne, the auctioneer who only talks like an auctioneer and more! This show is full of constant surprises. It turns on a dime between deadpan humor, silly dick and fart jokes, rib-tickling wordplay and finishes with some good old fashioned fisticuffs. No episode is the same as we stumble and get back up with each of these characters. MY GOD ARE THEY ALL HILARIOUS.Example! At the end of the previous episode Wayne, currently holding the title of toughest guy in Letterkenny was knocked out cold. Get this guy a puppers! So this is going to be a weird one. For once I am going to recommend that you watch something because it looks good, has great cinematography and can provide a very, very light look into what happened in Russia right before their revolutionary days. The Last Czars: Season 1 is specifically about Tsar Nicholas the Second who was the Emperor of Russia after his father’s untimely death, and his family. Nicholas or “Nicky” as his family calls him is a ruler who doesn’t have much luck with ruling. Historically, Nicholas took over Russia at a time where the world was starting to fight each other in the first war and starting to reject the idea of single rule. The Last Czars spends most of its time pretending to be a period piece, dedicated to retelling the story of of the Romanovs without any regard for historical accuracy or regard for acting talent. Sure they get the basics right, Nicholas the Second was Tsar, The Bolshevik revolution did happen and the entire was brutally murdered by the Bolsheviks in the basement in a house in the countryside. Oh and Rasputin. But the series is sloppy, full of mistakes. Unlike other series from our serious friends att HBO and sometimes Netflix, Czars doesn’t try to get anything historically accurate. There are bottles of Vodka in the series labeled Vodka (#Awkard because it Russia so it would not be in English), Lenin’s tomb makes an appearance 20 years before it’s supposed to exist in real life, and even the title of the show is weird. Tsar is more appropriate for a show based on Eastern characters. Duh.It turns out Russians are actually laughing at this show in their spare time, which at least makes a great drinking game. But what you do get is brilliant camera work and absolutely beautiful costume design. Take a look around Nicholas’ Russia and you’ll see something television cannot show you. We are used to seeing the grainy black and white of the Emperor’s Russia, Revolution Russia and eventually Soviet Russia, but rarely have we seen the beauty of the entire country.

Keep the door open three inches! It has been two years since we have seen Mike and the gang. For me, Stranger Things Season 3 still has the same magic that the first season had. Like season 2 we are again subjected to this two-part plot which doesn’t really work all the time, but hell was this season awesome!I love the 80s, everything about it, the neon, the movies, the hair, and the town of Hawkins in the summer of 1985 had it all. The gang is still together some things have changed, mostly Mike and Eleven are just getting frisky constantly to Hopper’s disdain. Everything is going great until someone starts trying to get into the Upside-Down and that’s when hell breaks loose. It doesn’t really break loose, it’s like Duffer Brothers lit a long fuse and we’re waiting for the explosion to happen. This season is jammed to gills with 80’s tropes and stereotypes that sometimes get in the way of the story, but I love 80’s so it’s okay. Other than that, I wanted Mike to stop being a dick so the story could move along. The ending though, was utterly and completely fantastic! This season is about growing up, about getting older, and knowing that the good times you had are still there in memory and change is okay. We’ve got 8 episodes, 7 1 hour and 1 90minutes finale. Now for everything else, i.e. spoilers!Part of the fun I had was trying to count all the 80’s references I could find: Terminator, the Thing, Red Dawn, the new Coke battle, Aliens, Murphy Brown. Anything else I missed?Like I said before, the season was a really slow burn with a big explosion. I honestly would have preferred a season that was way more focused on the Mind Flayer then anything with the Russians. The Russian plot just seemed like a reason to keep Dustin and Steve together to play up more of Season 2. I think the season would have been stronger without it, but I guess we needed a new government agency.Does anyone else feel bad for Will? Each season he’s just shoved in the corner. Season 1, he is in the Upside Down, Season 2, he is possed by the Mind Flayer, Season 3, he is girlfriendless, unimportant and just wants to play D&D. There is zero character development and now he’s shipped off to some other town, so goodbye Will! I guess we’ll never know who you really are.David Harbour, Chief Hopper, was the Bob Newby of Season 3. It could have been his impending doom, but it was either more screen time or better writing, but he was awesome. Just kicking ass at every corner and rocking the Magnum P.I. stash. I am really sad to see him go. Aw and his speech at the end, I was about to ugly cry.Hopper’s letter to Eleven really made me think about nostalgia, about my childhood.“But I know you're getting older, growing, changing. And I guess... if I'm being really honest, that's what scares me. I don't want things to change. So I think maybe that's why I came here, to try to maybe... stop that change. To turn back the clock. To make things go back to how they were. But I know that's naive. It's just... not how life works. It's moving. Always moving whether you like it or not. And yeah, sometimes it's painful. Sometimes it's sad and sometimes it' surprising. Happy.”The Duffer Brothers pulled on all my heartstrings and made want to go back and live in those great days, back when MTV actually played music, crazy colored prints were in fashion and I could rock my bowl cut.Another season is coming, the “gate” wasn’t fully closed, the Russian’s got a demidog and Netflix needs a show because they are running low on good IPs.Sometimes our heroes need a new story, even if it’s slightly familiar to the one we already know. I am not going to lie, I was a little weirded out that Sony was partnering with Marvel to make yet another Spider Man film. After all, sense 2002, we’ve had three different Peter Parkers: Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland, three different Aunt Mays ( who seem to get younger and cooler as the days go on) and two different Mary Janes (the most recent one, Zendaya, being my favorite. Oh, and incase you are wondering, we’ve seen Dr. Octopus (Ock?) change genders and the Green Goblin show up about three different times. Bye James Franco… let’s pretend that didn’t happen.Spider-Verse does something I have not seen in a long time. They’ve taken a series and refreshed it and didn’t take themselves too seriously in the process. They mocked the original storyline where Peter Parker dances and shimmies his way down the street. They let the viewer know that they know they already know how the story works so they don’t waste precious time having at it again. And they’ve created a main character that is as diverse as the currently landscape of New York City.Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore) comes from an extremely supportive Latino / Black Family. Sent to a charter school where he doesn’t quite fit in, Miles is bit by a radioactive (glitchy) spider when he’s tagging a very blank wall in Brooklyn. Miles doesn’t exist in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he actually doesn’t exist in our universe either. In Mile’s word.. Stephen Curry is a professional golfer. Food for thought.Miles grows a lot during this film where he learns how to use his powers and who he can and cannot trust to keep his secret. Like the other Spider Man films, Mile’s keeps his powers a secret. Unlike the other films in this franchise, Spiderverse does not loose site that Miles is just a kid. His parents are actively looking for him when he goes missing for more than eight hours. He can’t just go places without adults looking at him strangely. The writers manage to balance school-hood, super heroism and family quite well.Spider-Verse is a cinematic accomplishment not just because of the leaps animation have made over the past decade, but because the directors are not limited by live characters. The film is beautiful and I watched it twice in one night. This movie deserved this academy award and deserved to be rewatched over and over. I could say more… but at this point, I am digging into your watch time.

I must be weird I don’t hate ads. I like that I get ads on Hulu, it shows me what else is out there. Otherwise, I might just end up watching Dragon Ball or the Office for the millionth time. Lately, I’ve been seeing ads for a Hulu original called Ramy. I finally had a chance to sit down and watch it and honestly I couldn’t stop. It’s a show about a culture, about religion, about people I don’t understand. I had friends who are Muslim, but I’m a white guy who grew up Catholic, what the hell do I know? Ramy is a young Muslim America living in New Jersey, where the comedian Ramy Youssef grew up. He’s a dreamer, he’s an underdog, he wants to do something with his life. Although he is very modern in his views, he still tries to stay true to his religion. It’s important to him to not drink or take drugs, and go to the temple and pray. The best bit is this show is from the eyes of someone who grew up after 9/11. They don’t shy away from racism and culture identity and what it means to be an American. Ramy is rich in comedy and the everyday struggle of Muslim Americans. I laughed and learned something. This show is fun, smart and insightful. What’s more important isn’t what’s different, it’s all the things we have in common. Our mothers just want the best for us, everyone is just trying to find their place, find love. This is a great show and I think everyone should watch it.

I can imagine the elevator pitch for this one now, and it reads similar to the start of the bible… or something like that: “In the beginning, there was a devil and angel who realized their actions cancel each other out and they become best friends.”Good Omens is six part adventure about how the demon Crowley, played by David Tennant and the angel Aziraphale, played by Michael Sheen kinda save the world from Armageddon. This show is packed with talent: Frances McDormand, (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Fargo) and John Hamm (Mad Men, Baby Driver). Whoever the casting director was here deserves a bonus. Every character was played perfectly. Sheen’s and Tennant’s subtle nuances and their heavenly bromance make their performances shine.Good Omens doesn’t make you think, doesn’t try to be more than it should, and ended before it got boring. Every episode is filled with twists, turns and jokes; especially the flashback episode. It was sad that it was so short, but oh it was it satisfying. The last episode did set up a possible second season so, we’ll see what happens.A holy (unholy?) recommendation from me.Jessica, Jessica, Jessica. When you look at the Marvel Cinematic universe, you have three types of films and shows. You have the films like the Avengers, designed for a mass audience, you have the television shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that hint about powers and the reaping, but never go as far. Lastly, you have what Netflix has managed to do with Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones (I like to pretend Iron Fist isn’t a thing… The Hand?? give me a break). Marvel’s Netflix partnership managed to connect the real world consequences of “powered humans” with the slight fantasy of super heroes. No easy feat. And out of all the series that have been floating around over the past decade, Jessica Jones has shined tremendously. Why? Because if someone actually had super strength, Jessica Jones would be your “hero.”The final(?) season of Jessica Jones is a marvel (ha, get it) to observe. Jessica (played spectacularly Krysten Ritter) has grown tremendously over the past three years, even at the point of caring about the people around her. Marvel and Netflix’s Jones has always tried to mix horror and super human abilities over the course of the series and manages to do this well. Heck, we don’t even get bored as we did in episode 1 of Iron Fist or Season 3 of Luke Cage (let’s be honest tho Alfre Woodard is brilliant as Mariah Stokes… err… Dillard).Season 3 of Jessica Jones has them fighting against a crazy smart sociopath. He’s killed a lot of people and unlike past villains actually manages to give Jessica a run for her money. #StillWaitingforKillgraveToShowUp

Black Mirror is back and still scaring Julian about the roll technology plays in his life. Jeremy is fine, and mumbling: I told you so.Let’s get the worst part over with: there are only three episodes. I know it’s crazy, but remember the first two seasons only had three or four episodes and we didn’t seem to mind. In an interview with creator Charlie Brooker, he mentioned Bandersnatch had another five hours of content, which he considered part of this season. Unfortunately, Bandersnatch was so dull, dry and boring I couldn’t make it through fifteen minutes of it while waiting two hours for a delayed flight. If you’re thinking of watching Bandersnatch, don’t. Avoid. While we only have three episodes, there are some heavy hitters this season. Anthony Mackie (Falcon from the Marvel Universe), Andrew Scott (Moriarty from BBC’s Sherlock) Topher Grace, and Miley Cyrus all star in their own episodes. And surprisingly, Cyrus delivers. The first episode explores men’s sexuality and alternative relationships through the internet. The second episode destroys the idea of privacy, with an unsettling display of a social media company having more power and information than law enforcement. The last episode is centered around the cult of celebrity and how technology can even steal someones humanity and create work without them. The pixels make an appearance again, one of the most mysterious parts of the Black Mirror universe. Episode three also seems to have a trend of delivering a happier ending with a heavy theme.Critics have not bee kind to Miley Cyrus, but she was pretty good in Episode three: “Rachel, Jack, and Ashley Too.” She pretty much played a depressed person of herself, searching for her musical voice. My only real concern is that the episode started to run dry.. And this isn’t Miley’s fault, but we’ve touched in all of these themes already. We’ve been warned about big brother in Arkangel Season 4. The USS Callister explored consciousness and the ethics behind the pixels. We’ve dealt with sex and relationships before in Season 4.Finally, there was no awesome WTF moment. You know what I’m talking about. I’m talking the pig, I’m talking about the woman in jail, and the black museum. Yes, you could say the Anthony Mackie episode had it but eh, not really. This has been a solid (hopefully last) Black Mirror season. Watch.A lot of TV shows have a hard time moving into Season three because they’ve usually squandered their time in Season two and stretched themselves too far. And sure the handmaid’s stitch is getting a little old, but what’s not getting old is the war of handmaids against the Men (and sometimes women - Aunt Lydia anyone?) of Gilled. But Season 3 feels different because we get stuck on the enigma of one of our newest characters: Commander Lawrence, played by Bradley Whitford (West Wing, Get Out) is the man who helped create the system. Forget the Waterfords, people go to Commander Lawrence’s house to meet him, not the other way around. But what’s so unusual is that he doesn’t do the ceremony, he allows June to read arguing that “she is smart and can do more good for the world outside of Gilled than in.” But on the flip side, he humiliates her, he is actively fighting the rebellion in Chicago and calling women “commodities.” You should watch just to figure out what he’s actually all about.Season 3 seems to want to point out to all of us that there is a real slippery slope out here. We see how fast June falls into the handmaid’s lifestyle, we even see how some of the women have cracked under pressure (Janinie, oh Janinie) and we see how subtle misogyny helped create this system. Handmaid is trying to tell us that we are capable of such evil, disguised as a God Complex. Season 3 is worth watching because we are past the shock value of how much more cruel can we be to women and now fully into how much do we value women. Sure, we are a long way off from stitching someone’s mouth shut, but we silence women everyday by not taking sexual assault seriously, denying them proper care in the emergency room, and every time we pay them less than men.Watch.

This is not an easy one to write about. In 1989 case of Korey Wise, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, Antron McCray and Kevin Richardson has taken new life in the form of of a Netflix TV series. Whenever I talk about the film, I can’t help but mistakenly call it a documentary. Rather that’s a slip of the tongue or just pure negligence on my part, I wont ever know. But what I do know is one thing: This story should be required viewing for everyone, anywhere. In case you haven’t heard the story of the Central Park Five or what is also known as the Central Park Jogger Case, a young woman, Trisha Meili went jogging one night and was brutally attacked. At the same time, several kids were out at night hanging out in the park or wilding as the investigators would later refer to it as they mock the kids in the investigation room. The prosecutor and police decided to convince the boys that they committed the crime and then hang these boys out to dry.A few things happen here: Ava shows us in stark detail how these boys were treated. Ava shows us how their families reacted. Ava shows us how much time as past when the boys (yes they were kids) are locked away and the world passes them by. You are forced to stare as Ava shows you the reality of solitary confinement. And then finally, in one scene that will crumble the soul, we are forced to reckon with the question: What if I had just not gone to the park…Watch this documentary. Watch it all. Don’t forget it. You don’t have a choice. Watch. The HBO miniseries Chernobyl is full of creeping dread as strong the radiation that’s being pumped out. We follow Valery Legasov and Boris Shcherbina, played Jared Harris and Stellan Skarsgard, as they try to clean up the worst man-made disaster ever. What many don’t realize is how close the world could have come to an end. A quick fact check shows the show is pretty accurate. How’s that for a history lesson?Chernobyl highlights two things, the sacrifices the Russian people made to save the world from their own mistake and the ludicrous, backstabbing, paranoid people who run their government. With every triumph Legasov makes another unforeseen problem arises. The water supply is infected, another even larger explosion happens, killing the world with radioactive fallout. I was on the edge of my seat watching him try to calmly think the problem through as the geiger counter clicks louder and louderOne aspect that I love about this show is the almost still life shots of the abandoned areas. Seeing the empty streets, classrooms, and homes with food on the table creates this haunting eerie motif that carries you through from scene to scene. In the back of your mind you keep telling yourself that they’ll be alright knowing full well that these men were being bombarded with massive doses of radiation shortening their lives.Chernobyl has a supernatural quality to it. This is not just another team drama. West Ham is a city full of teenagers who are trying to keep it all together, after they're mysteriously transported to a replica of their wealthy town with no trace of their parents or anyone else for that matter. Yep, candy will be eaten. When you think about this plot device, it’s been done before. Jimmy Neutron tried it, Disney tried it, both failed. However, as the series gets going the storyline gets stronger and stronger. The character development takes time, and it should take time. By episode three the show begins to tackle some really deep subjects moving from the typical high school drama into the heavier emotions and complications around the death penalty, sexuality and larger acceptance. All of this is swirled under the umbrella of impending doom. If these characters do not get their shit together, they will die. Finally, there is a murder forcing the story to really take off.Now for the meh.The show, at least in the beginning relies on pretty stereotypical high school tropes. You know, jocks vs brains. And to make matters worse, some of the performances rely on overacting reminding you of Riverdale at times. But don’t get distracted, this show is worth watching. However, it’s enduring to watch these kids struggle, figure out how to survive what’s being thrown at them. The Society has a lot of heavy vibes which will remind you of The Leftovers or the Walking Dead. It even has a moments that remind you of the WTFness of LOST. The interpersonal relationships successfully remind you of Gossip Girl. 7/10. I’d recommend it. Watch.Catch 22 is the movie based on the book that you might or might not have read in high school. With a dizzying array of characters (who are mostly white men, because… well… Heller’s novel), Catch 22 tells the story of protagonist John Yossarian who has to figure out a way to stay alive through the entirety of World War II. If you’ve opened a history book in the last decade, you’ll know this isn’t an easy task.A quick examination of the first episode shows you this is going to be a fun ride. The tale of the parade obsessed officer Scheisskopf (George Clooney) and Yoss who just wants to go home is addictive. If you don’t care about war you’re going to enjoy the dialogue. The witty banter and humor means that if you don’t like war, you’ll still laugh a bit. However, if you enjoyed the book, the Hulu series might not be for you. Sadly, much of the humor is lost in the series. But if you never read the book, you won’t know what you’re missing.Watch

Okay, to be clear, I am saying if you have been been watching Game of Thrones, then you need to watch the ending. If you have not watched Game of Thrones, watch the ending. If you are a fan, you’ll scratch your head wondering why the ending was so… rushed. You’re not going to like how it ends. The ending is not subpar. No, everything about this series is polished, beautiful and… real. But the ending… no, Home Box Office totally rushed this one. In short, the fans were betrayed… and rewarded at the same time.At its heart, Game of Thrones is a political drama, designed to play off of the political realities of Westeros - which is the fictional land where all of these fictional people live. One of the reason Thrones is so appealing is because the show manages to establish a character and then let that characters ambition and motives play out and clash against everyone else. Good feelings be dammed. Ned Stark doesn’t just die because he’s too honest, he dies against your wishes. The victims along the way aren’t strategic character wipeouts because fans don’t like them, they’re victims of circumstance, greed and chance. But Season 8 abandons this in favor of sloppy writing and ignores the character development the writers spent almost a decade perfecting. Sorry HBO, I love you, but this didn’t work. Guess when you don’t have source materials, even the biggest plot twists come across as opportunistic. So what I am saying is watch this final season of Thrones. Grit your teeth and let your brain relax. Don’t think politics, just think fantasy dragons. You just aren’t going to enjoy the shallowness of the decision making by any means, and that’s okay. Game of Thrones is fun, there are dragons and we finally get to see who is left standing in the end. Watch. But Carefully. As someone who loves animation and cartooning this was epic!Love and Death and Robots is a collection of animated short stories that span various genres including science fiction, fantasy, horror and comedy. What I really loved about it was every episode was a different animation style, so many different flavors. Some of the show featured 3D animation, others had cell animation where the characters felt hand drawn. The stories were also all over the place. You had underground beast fights, Dracula, life or death struggles in space, even one about yogurt taking over the world. Yeah yogurt… but not Greek Yogurt. My favorite episode was “Ice Age” which is a mix of live action and animation. It starred Topher Grace and Mary Elizabeth Winstead who move into this old apartment with an antique fridge. They defrost it and find an entire civilization inside. Every time they open the fridge the people have jumped in time. You get prehistoric, industrial age, the future and a city on the brink of destruction. That’s clever. Each episode will either make you laugh, give you something to ponder over or just keep you entertained. You’re not going to like every episode, but that’s life right?Note this is not for children. This is definitely some adult themes and animation. Watch.

This series doesn’t fuck around. Where many shows waste their time trying to set the scene and get you to like the characters, Dead to Me (Next, 2019) jumps right in and dares you to make assumptions. Our two main characters are Jen and Judy. Jen’s husband dies in a hit and run (something we will witness over and over during gritty moments of the show) and she is obsessed with solving his murder. Judy has also suffered a loss. We meet both of our characters while they are at a grief support group. After meeting for the first time (when Judy asks Jen if she can give her a hug, an offer Jen completely refuses) in a support group, they strike an unlikely friendship. It wouldn’t be a Netflix series if one of the characters didn’t have a secret, and this series delivers. While the two get into all sorts of adventures together, the series stays focus on showing how both of their losses are causing significant and sometimes comedic intrusions into their lives. There are also heavy moments where grief rears its ugly (but not unexpected) head. There is a third character in this series. Grief. There are moments when Christina Applegate (who plays Jen, Married with Children, Bad Moms) and Linda Cardellini (who plays Judy, Bloodline and Avengers, Age of Ultron) totally break down in tears or remove themselves entirely from a situation because it’s too painful. There’s a moment when Steve (another character you will totally meet and have to decide if you love him or hate him) refuses to even look into a room because it reminds him of his dead child. The grief is raw, it’s emotional and does something few Netflix shows have managed to do… it feels real. Grief sneaks up on us, smacks our characters on the head and then vanishes with destruction in its wake.Grief doesn’t overwhelm the television show. Remember, this is a dark comedy. Instead, the plot continues to drip plot twist after plot twist on the audience, with a constant frequency. Every episode, you are forced to rethink if you actually like these characters.Dead to Me isn’t perfect, but it strikes the right chord and reminds us that even in the darkness, there are moments where we grit our teeth and laugh. Watch Now.Okay, we know, the title is so fucking long. But trust me, it makes perfect sense for this series. Extremely Wicked and incredibly Close… wait. Extremely Wicked, Shocking Evil and Vile describes Ted Bundy perfectly.Zac Efron (The Greatest Showman, High School Musical) stars in a biopic of the unapologetic psychopath, Ted Bundy. First, we need to get over that it’s Zac Efron. Yes, Mr. “Get Your Head In The Game” and seemingly light hearted musical actor Zach. But forget all of that. Zach delivers. The film follows Ted Bundy in the events surrounding and leading up to the first television courtroom case. Efron and Lilly Collins, who plays Bundy’s girlfriend Liz Kendall, give us a glimpse into what kind of man Bundy was, and how (and why) women were mysteriously drawn to him. The film uses actual interviews with Bundy and the press to push forward the plot. The effect is downright chilling. Efron’s horrifying portrayal of this serial killer is convincing and when you add the actual footage from the trail and audio recording, there’s no doubt Zac has grown into his own as an actor.I was drawn in. I was sold. A few days later, I couldn’t think of anything else. Must Watch.

Umbrella Academy is what would happen if the main plot of X-Men required that all the superheroes had daddy issues. Oh, and Professor X is a total dick. What I really like about this one is that this has the seriousness of a show like Stranger Things, but still that light-hearted feel of a Marvel Movie - you feel impending doom, but get some laughs along the way. The acting is really really good.Ellen Page and Tom Hopper kill it, but the rest of the cast, while unknown, really move the story forward. The writing and story building will bring you in from the start and give you a sense for the logic of this world. The constant daddy issues get so old, really quickly, but the writers finally figured out that no one cares by Episode 3. Thank goodness. Watch now. Most American audiences haven't seen the British show SKINS, but this show reminds me of a lot of that. Teenage drama, with heaviness. Big disclaimer here, the show is in Spanish. Get over it and give this a try, that's what English subtitles are for. Or, go take a Spanish class. It'll be worth it, I promise.Elite is a teen thriller, drama, comedy, love story; it's in Spanish though. Elite follows a group of kids who all go elite school where the kids are all pretty wealthy, but one day three students transfer into the school. Turns out their old school collapsed in a freak construction accident.Elite tackles some serious issues, including same-sex relationships, how people of color are treated in society and how the adults in our lives react to religious and cultural differences. Don't expect to sit down and lightheartedly watch the show while cooking. The class divide between the rich and poor students drives the plot. The drama of the show is addicting, and it's hard to stop watching. I literally, binged this entire show in one night. It is 8 hours of television that you're watching. Not a brilliant decision if it's a Sunday night, but poor choices must sometimes be made.Oh, did I mention there was a murder? And that's what makes this show brilliant, you don't have to actually care about the brutal murder to love the show (trust me, you will). The relationships alone will drive the story forward. The story would work just fine. But, the murder makes for some pretty foreboding flashbacks and flash-forwards. Watch this now.

So here’s the thing. No one likes turning on Netflix and then scrolling though all the junk that’s in the feed. Sometimes you just want to sit down and watch something amazing. Wouldn’t it be nice if someone did the watching for you? That’s where we come in. Each week, we’ll bring you some new TV shows and movies to watch and we’ll even tell you what to avoid. You know how the queen has that one guy who tastes all the food to make sure it’s not poison? Yep, we’re like that, but we’re not dying. Cause that would be bad.
