"Retreat is a knockout! With keenly observed depictions of elite society, Krysten Ritter takes us on a journey with con artist Liz Dawson when a new opportunity lands her in a world of trouble. A razor sharp and utterly shocking twist propels the roller-coaster ending. Fans of First Lie Wins will devour this clever, masterfully plotted novel. Not to be missed! This book has bestseller written all over it!" - Wendy Walker, bestselling author of What Remains "Multitalented Krysten Ritter is back with a sexy, breakneck thriller that immerses readers in the sometimes-glamorous and sometimes-deadly life of a con artist. Full of surprises and edge-of-your-seat scenes, RETREAT is a wild ride." - Mary Kubica, New York Times bestselling author of She's Not Sorry Beloved star of Marvel's Jessica Jones, Krysten Ritter is also an internationally bestselling writer whose first suspense novel, Bonfire, drew comparisons to Patricia Highsmith and Gillian Flynn-Flynn herself praised it as "a phenomenal, haunting debut." Ritter's much-awaited second thriller, RETREAT is the addictive, twisty, and atmospheric story of a beautiful con artist who insinuates herself into a wealthy socialite's world. It could be the con of her life-or it could be the thing that ends it. Blending the juicy vibe of White Lotus with the dark deceit of The Undoing and Ripley, RETREAT is, "Smart, sexy and wickedly fun," says Ellery Lloyd, bestselling author of The Club, " . everything you want in a sun-drenched thriller." Liz Dawson is very good at the game. She's clever, cool, and confident, moving effortlessly among the elite. In short: a brilliant serial con artist. When the beautiful, wealthy Isabelle Beresford, who owns a fabulous villa on the Mexican coast, offers Liz a job handling the installation of some art at the vacant Casa Esmeralda, it is an offer she cannot refuse. Time alone at an exclusive beach retreat could be the perfect opportunity for Liz to reset, and maybe finally shed the grip of her addiction to the perfect con. Liz does not anticipate being mistaken for Isabelle, though, and the temptation to slip into the socialite's identity proves irresistible. Yet, once she has "become" Isabelle, Liz discovers some truths about the absent woman and the dangers that surround her. Dangers that now surround Liz as well.As an actor, writer, producer and director, Krysten Ritter is known throughout the entertainment industry. She brings her wealth of knowledge to RETREAT with an eye to produce and star in a future dramatic adaptation.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesBrad Winderbaum, head of streaming, television, and animation for Marvel Studios, caught the attention of Defenders fans when he shared that Marvel is exploring bringing back the rest of the Netflix Defenders actors and characters; Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Iron Fist. Winderbaum indicated that the studio is excited about this possibility, but there are a lot of variables that will determine the success of pulling it all together. While this is fun to hear as fans, other Marvel TV is taking a pause. Though sources say these projects were never officially greenlit, Deadline reports that Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror, Inc. are not currently being developed. This is mostly being attributed to Marvel's shift to traditionally-run television shows. But in confirmed news, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Jon Bernthal will star in a Marvel Studios Special Presentation featuring The Punisher that will air in 2026 alongside the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. On Monday we were treated to the surprise drop of the full Andor season 2 trailer from Lucasfilm. In a very un-Star Wars-like fashion, the high octane footage is set to The Revolution Starts Now by Steve Earle and reminds viewers of how acclaimed the first season was. The drop shared more interesting news; the 12-episode season will be dropped in increments of three episodes at a time for four weeks. Phew!DC's duo of James Gunn and Peter Safran took time to have a press event last Friday where they updated us, the people, on where things are going with DC Studios. It's been just over two years since the big film and television overhaul with DC was announced, with Gunn and Safran taking control of the franchise. Gunn reiterated their desire to bring new stories to life with these characters. The updates included the following: Supergirl is halfway through production, Lanterns began production last week, Clayface will be directed by James Watkins and is eyeing a fall 2026 release, Sgt. Rock, still being directed by Luca Guadagnino, no longer has Daniel Craig attached and is looking for its new star, and the animated Robin movie, Dynamic Duo, is in pre-production. Lastly and perhaps most importantly, Gunn had some comments on The Brave and The Bold that some are taking as confirmation that Robert Pattinson will not be the DCU's Batman, with the filmmaker saying,“It's certainly not the plan.” And Safran added, “And we love him, but we've got to introduce a Batman into the DCU. That's imperative. And so that's the plan with The Brave and the Bold.”The James Bond movie franchise is going through a shake up, with Amazon MGM Studios and Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli forming a new joint venture to house the movie property's intellectual property rights. Under the terms of the agreement, Amazon MGM Studios will gain creative control of the James Bond franchise, while Wilson and Broccoli will remain co-owners of the 60-year-old property. In 2022, Amazon acquired MGM. Since the MGM acquisition, Amazon has held rights to distribute all of the James Bond films, and following completion of the joint venture transaction will control the creative on future productions.Season two of The Last of Us finally has a premiere date. The seven-episode season of the drama will debut April 13 on HBO. That means the season will complete its run in late May, just under the wire for Emmy eligibility this year.Jack O'Connell and Delroy Lindo, who will both star in Ryan Coolger's upcoming film Sinners, have joined the cast of Legendary's upcoming Monsterverse sequel to Godzilla x Kong.Kitao Sakurai, perhaps best known for writing, directing and exec producing The Eric Andre Show, has been tapped to direct Street Fighter, Legendary Entertainment's feature adaptation of the classic video game from Capcom.

He's back! Sonic the Hedgehog 3 raced into U.S. theaters last week... but it's having a bit of a, ironically, slow global rollout. I finally had the chance to see the film and when it comes to the Sonic movies, I've mildly enjoyed them. I definitely preferred 2 to 1 but the CGI cast is fun and more Jim Carrey action is always welcome. Sonic 3 had A LOT of hype and buzz around it and seemingly, the film delivered for most fans. Did I feel the same way? Find out in this review! Sonic the Hedgehog 3: Directed by: Jeff Fowler Screenplay by: Pat Casey & Josh Miller & John Whittington Story by: Pat Casey & Josh Miller Produced by: Toby Ascher, Neal H. Moritz, Toru Nakahara, Hitoshi Okuno Executive Producers: Jeff Fowler, Tommy Gormley, Tim Miller, Haruko Satomi, Shuji Utsumi Music by: Tom Holkeborg Cinematography by: Brandon Trost Editing by: Al LeVine Casting by: Sophie Holland, Jenelle Scuderi, Tricia Wood Production Design by: Luke Freeborn Costume Design by: Eleanor Baker Cast: Ben Schwartz, Jim Carrey, Keanu Reeves, Idris Elba, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Krysten Ritter, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Alyla Browne Synopsis: Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite against a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they have faced before. With their abilities outmatched in every way, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance in hopes of stopping Shadow and protecting the planet.

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes. Marvel Studios surprised fans with our first official glimpse of the upcoming Thunderbolts* film, by quietly dropping the teaser trailer Monday morning. The footage, set to the tune of Where is My Mind? by The Pixies, features Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, most heavily, and is in keeping with descriptions that came out of both D23 and San Diego Comic Con earlier this year, along with a few surprises. The search for the DCU's Hal Jordan has finally come to an end, according to sources from The Hollywood Reporter, with Emmy winner Kyle Chandler set to star in the HBO Lanterns series. Chandler's name was not among the top contenders being bandied about the last few weeks, which included the likes of Timothy Olyphant and Chris Pine, as well as Josh Brolin, as we previously reported. The Lanterns series, developed by Ozark's Chris Mundy, Lost's Damon Lindelof and Eisner Award winner Tom King, has often been likened to HBO's True Detective in terms of tone and story. Seems like we've been celebrating more box office wins than losses as of late, but Transformers: One was decidedly less than meets the eye, at least with audiences, as the animated prequel debuted to a soft $25 million, a near franchise low. The muted response may come as a bit of a surprise coming of the heels of strong critic reviews and an A Cinemascore, but neither were enough to dethrone reigning box office champ BeetleJuice BeetleJuice, which just held the top spot, making $26 million in its third week. Last week, Warner Brothers released the first trailer for Mickey 17, Bong Joon Ho's highly anticipated sci-fi film starring Robert Pattinson, Mark Ruffalo, Steven Yeun, Naomie Ackie, and Toni Collette. The film arrives in theaters on January 31, 2025. AMC has canceled Orphan Black: Echoes, after one season. Set in the near future, the sequel series starring Krysten Ritter shared the same world as the BBC cult hit starring Tatiana Maslany. Netflix's One Piece has cast Joe Manganiello as "Mr. 0" and Lera Abova as "Miss All Sunday" for Season 2. Director-writer Jared Bush is replacing Jennifer Lee as chief creative officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Lee will return to a filmmaking role at the company and will focus on writing and directing Frozen 3 and executive producing Frozen 4. Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for Squid Game season 2 which begins streaming on December 26th. Netflix announced The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep, an animated film debuting on February 11, 2025, with Doug Cockle reprising his voice role as Geralt of Rivia from the CD Projekt Red video games. An exclusive clip is now available online. Netflix has dropped the first teaser for Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, an animated series adaptation of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell video game created by Ubisoft. Liev Schreiber will voice Sam Fisher, the protagonist of the series. Warner Bros has confirmed that Baz Luhrmann's next feature film at the studio will be Jehanne d'Arc, an epic story about the French teenage military commander Joan of Arc. Tamara Smart is joining Percy Jackson and the Olympians as Thalia Grace, the demigod daughter of Zeus. She'll recur in season two, which is in production and slated for a 2025 premiere. Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are set to star in Emerald Fennell‘s feature adaptation of Wuthering Heights. MRC has tapped LuckyChap Entertainment to produce the film that is based on author Emily Brontë's classic novel of the same name. Warner Brothers has released the first trailer and poster for Sinners, the Prohibition era horror film from Ryan Coolger starring Michael B. Jordan that has been under wraps for the past year. The film hits theaters on March 7th, 2025. Daveed Diggs has been cast as a series regular for the fifth and final season of Amazon's The Boys.
