Aurora Straus is a 22-year-old professional racecar driver in the USA, a student, and a musician. She currently competes in the IMSA Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge, and previously raced in the Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup. She is currently attending Harvard University while competing as a professional.  At 19 years of age, was the only professional teenage female sportscar racer in North America. On today's episode we chat with Aurora Straus. Aurora is a full time student at Harvard University and also one of the youngest professional race car drivers. When she's not winning races or taking exams, she's running Girls with Drive which helps young women break into male dominated industries. We talk with Aurora about her experience learning to drive at the age of 13, the intense training that goes into preparing for a competition, and the best way for people to get started in racing.

19-year-old race car driver Aurora Straus joins Spike to talk about starting at 13, her family's support and working alongside her dad, the importance of continuing her education, and overcoming fear by treating the car like an instrument. Plus, Spike and Z go over some Porsches up for auction.

Aurora Straus is a race car driver who competes in the #36 Richard Mille BMW M4 in the Pirelli World Challenge and today, she’s leading in the Championship points with 6 races left in the season. She is currently the only female, teenage racecar driver competing professionally in North America.  Her racing started at 15 years old when she competed in the International Trophy Cup and Skip Barber Series, racing Porsche Caymans and Mazda MX-5s.  Along with a passion for racing, Aurora enjoys studying, singing, and playing the piano and guitar. Aurora has been accepted to Harvard University’s class of 2022 and plans to pursue degrees in both mechanical engineering and English literature.
