Welcome to Botched: A D&D Podcast! Deciding to face off in one on one combat with his greatest fear, a wendigo, Jokkish sustains numerous wounds. However, instead of finishing him off, the wendigo leaves Jokkish alone. Wonder what that means. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew goes up to the bridge in hopes of getting out of this floating rig of death. However, they instead find gooey pods with people in them. Unbeknownst to the rest of the crew, Zoop Zoop is feeling a serious maternal instinct pop in, never having children of his own. His internal clock must be ticking. Why are people in pods? What else is in these pods? Can they be trusted? How do they get off the ship? What's wrong with making people sign a contract in order for you to save their lives? Tune in and find out! Join in on the banter as these dickheads whose understanding of the rules is questionable, and their moral compasses are even more so, stumble through dungeons, traps, monsters, and social intricacies as they attempt to complete a quest for wholly selfish reasons. If you are a veteran dragon slayer from the long long ago of the 1970's or a newbie who is interested in hearing what this devil worshipping game is all about, Botched: A D&D Podcast is the DnD Podcast for you. As mentioned, we are playing 5th edition rules, so if you've never played this version of the game before, listening to us will give you an idea of how it may be different from previous versions of the game. 5th edition is a great rule set to start playing the game with. This will enable me to continue to bring to you an enhanced season 6. The target audience for this episode is EVERYONE, especially those who are looking to discard unwanted habits and adopt healthy habits in life. Our guest for today is Robin Jonk. We all know habits like exercise, healthy eating and meditation are good for us, but how exactly do we benefit? And why is it so hard to make them stick? Robin dug into the latest research, and founded Chumble, a behavioral start up with the mission to create 1 billion happier lives through habit formation. website https://chumble.family Robin has generously offered a 20% savings on his fees for listeners of Sharing Life Lessons. Please schedule an intro call with Robin through https://calendly.com/chumble/freediscoverycall, inserting the special code: SharingLifeLessons20 in the comment section. My key takeaways from the discussion in this episode are as follows: 1. Habits are the shortcuts that our brain creates to save energy on the repeated behaviors over time. 2. To become aware of the habits we possess, Robin asks us to go through a journaling exercise about noting our repetitive actions over a few days so that we can determine which of the habits we possess are supportive, not supportive and neutral related to the person we want to be. Once we determine the habits we want to change then….. 3. Based on the book Atomic habits authored by James Clear – Robin spoke in detail about the habit loop that consists of cue, craving, reaction and reward and discussed with examples how we can use this habit loop to transform unwanted habits to healthy habits and also create a set of new habits that will add value to our lives. 4. Failing successfully. Seeing failure as a necessary building block that you need for success. This is such a powerful idea! Not only in the matter of habits but in all matters of life. I am digressing slightly here but I ask all of us who are parents, can we include this in our parenting routine and allow our children to fail successfully? To fail, learn lessons from the failure and apply those lessons to the next endeavor leading to success, this will give them such a sense of freedom where no failure will bring them down but in fact they will start expecting and accepting failure like they do successes. I will bring you the first episode of season 7 of Sharing Life Lessons in three weeks on Wednesday, June 30th. Until then, 'Be happy, be safe and be well'. Podcast links:.
