What happens when Dungeons & Dragons decides to give psionics another shot? The RPGBOT.Podcast dives headfirst into the Unearthed Arcana Psion Update—an experiment in psychic power, spell mechanics, and a whole lot of questionable design choices. From the disappointing Life Inversion Field to the glorious chaos of Psychic Scream, the crew breaks down what works, what doesn't, and what might just melt your brain. Join the RPGBOT Patreon and get behind-the-scenes access to discussions, early content drops, and the chance to ask questions during live tapings. Patreon supporters help shape the future of RPGBOT's deep dives into D&D, Pathfinder, and other TTRPG systems. Show Notes In this second half of the RPGBOT.Podcast review of Wizards of the Coast's Unearthed Arcana Psion Update, the hosts dissect the expanded spell list and the mechanics that define the psionic experience. The conversation begins with casual banter—complete with birthday wishes for Randall's mom—before diving deep into D&D's psychic frontier. Each spell gets the RPGBOT treatment, with careful attention to balance, design, and playability. The hosts critique heavy hitters like Abidalzim's Horrid Wilting, explore new mechanics in Bleeding Darkness and Ectoplasmic Trail, and question whether Ego Whip deserves a spot in anyone's spellbook. They also highlight bright spots like Enemies Abound and Intellect Fortress, praising their clarity and efficiency. The discussion doesn't shy away from tough critiques—Life Inversion Field and Life Siphon both fall flat, while the nerf to Mental Prison earns collective groans. Yet, redemption arrives in the form of Psionic Blast and Psychic Scream, which the hosts hail as excellent examples of balanced, high-impact design. Along the way, they examine how intelligence saving throws affect game balance, the evolution of psionics in D&D 5e, and the potential for homebrew fixes. Whether you're a dungeon master looking to integrate psionics or a player hunting for the next big spell combo, this episode offers insight, humor, and deep-cut analysis that only RPGBOT can deliver. Key Takeaways Abidalzim's Horrid Wilting remains underwhelming, suffering from outdated mechanics. Bleeding Darkness and Ectoplasmic Trail raise confusion about their effects and visuals. Ego Whip is compared to Silvery Barbs but feels weaker in execution. Enemies Abound and Intellect Fortress stand out as clear, effective designs. Life Inversion Field and Life Siphon fail to live up to their thematic potential. Mental Prison has been toned down, losing much of its utility. Psionic Blast and Psychic Scream emerge as the strongest new spells. Rolotham's Psychic Lance remains a problematic favorite for DMs. Healing spells in combat continue to suffer from low efficiency. Intelligence saving throws risk skewing spell balance toward niche builds. Telekinetic Crush introduces a new dynamic for psychic damage dealers. The hosts explore spell synergy and suggest tweaks to improve design consistency across psionic abilities. Buy Keith Amman's New Book! Tired of choosing between concentration risk and a painful tax bill? Michael sits down with Med Faber from Cambria Investment Management. We break down a smarter option: using a 351 ETF exchange to convert appreciated, concentrated stock positions into a diversified ETF without triggering taxes. Think of it like a 1031 for public equities—contribute eligible positions at launch, receive ETF shares in return, and let the portfolio rebalance inside the tax-efficient ETF wrapper. We walk through:The exact rules that matterWhy your largest position must be under 25% and your top five under 50%Which assets qualify, and why contributions must happen at the seed stage. You'll hear real examples of prior 351 launches, learn about the upcoming U.S. equal weight fund aimed at breaking the market-cap link, and get a clear timeline: indicate interest, submit holdings, pause trading, transfer positions, and receive ETF shares on day one. We also explain the powerful benefit of multiple cost-basis lots embedded in the ETF, which can make future tax management far more flexible.Along the way, we widen the lens to the current market: elevated U.S. valuations, heavy index concentration in the same handful of megacaps, and a stealth rotation in gold and non-U.S. value strategies. If you've been meaning to diversify but taxes keep you stuck, this is the actionable path. Advisors will find a field guide for client conversations—simple analogies that land, common custodian workflows, and prospecting angles for executives, VC distributions, and direct indexing portfolios.#LeadLagLive  #Cambria #USEW  #IncomeInvesting #Markets #InvestingStart your adventure with TableTalk Friday: A D&D Podcast at the link below or wherever you get your podcasts!Youtube: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgB6B-mAeWlPM9KzGJ2O4cU0-m5lO0lkr&si=W_-jLsiREjyAIgEsSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/75YJ921WGQqUtwxRT71UQB?si=4R6kaAYOTtO2V Sign up to The Lead-Lag Report on Substack and get 30% off the annual subscription today by visiting http://theleadlag.report/leadlaglive. Why Gold's Quiet All‑Time High Matters (and How BAR Lowers the Cost of Owning It)

A record high without the roar—gold has climbed to new territory while the crowd looks elsewhere. We sit down with GraniteShares founder and CEO Will Rind to unpack why this is the most interesting precious metals cycle in years: a quiet surge powered by falling real yields, relentless debt growth, and a decade‑long shift by central banks toward gold as the de facto alternative to the dollar. Will brings rare perspective from building gold ETFs in the UK, stewarding GLD, and launching BAR, a physically backed gold ETF designed to cut costs and increase transparency. We dig into the mechanics that matter to serious allocators: why BAR's 0.17% expense ratio compounds an edge over time, how allocated bars and third‑party audits reduce custody risk, and where gold fits on the efficient frontier as a true diversifier with near‑zero equity correlation. Along the way, we pressure‑test common narratives. Bitcoin gets the headlines, yet gold and BTC have moved in step from key points while official reserves tell a different story. We explore how to read the gold price as a mirror of fiat dilution, not just momentum, and why this rally can coexist with rising policy rates when the bigger forces—deficits and credibility—dominate. The conversation widens to the rest of the complex. Platinum's breakout, a persistent supply deficit, and a growing role in hydrogen technologies add torque to a metals allocation that often plays catch‑up as gold leads. For investors hunting income without abandoning diversification, we walk through GraniteShares' options‑based Yield Boost ETFs—weekly distributions generated by defined‑risk put spreads rather than uncovered calls—to complement core holdings like BAR or a platinum sleeve. If your portfolio still leans entirely on stocks and bonds, this is your cue to reconsider what real ballast looks like when passive flows and public debt keep climbing.Enjoy the episode, share it with a colleague who still thinks gold is only for crises, and subscribe for more candid, research‑driven market conversations. If it helped you think differently about allocation, leave a quick review—it makes a big difference.#LeadLagLive #Gold #Bitcoin #Investing #fiat #StockMarketStart your adventure with TableTalk Friday: A D&D Podcast at the link below or wherever you get your podcasts!Youtube: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgB6B-mAeWlPM9KzGJ2O4cU0-m5lO0lkr&si=W_-jLsiREjyAIgEsSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/75YJ921WGQqUtwxRT71UQB?si=4R6kaAYOTtO2V Sign up to The Lead-Lag Report on Substack and get 30% off the annual subscription today by visiting http://theleadlag.report/leadlaglive. Building All-Weather Income with Pass-Throughs and HIPS

Rate cuts change the math on income, but your cash flow doesn't have to shrink. We invited Will Rind of GraniteShares to unpack a practical way to keep payouts steady as short-term yields slide: a diversified basket of pass-through securities inside the HIPS ETF that aims for an all-weather stream of monthly income. We dig into how REITs, MLPs, BDCs, and fixed income–oriented closed-end funds each respond to different growth and inflation regimes, and why blending them can smooth the ride when markets lurch. We walk through the index rules that power HIPS—screening for the highest yields and the lowest volatility within each sector, then equal-weighting the results—and why the pass-through structure matters. Because these entities distribute most of their income and avoid corporate tax, more of the cash makes it to investors, and a return of capital component can improve after-tax outcomes. We also get candid about trade-offs: NAV will move with markets, but the fund has paid the same fixed monthly amount for more than a decade, including through the 2020 shock when many dividend strategies cut or suspended payouts. From portfolio fit to policy risk, we tackle the real questions advisors and investors ask. Should HIPS be core or a satellite? How does it complement the Agg or government bonds without doubling down on duration or credit? What do expense ratios mean when BDCs are involved, and how should you interpret acquired fund fees? We compare liquid, transparent alternative income to private credit's lockups and opaque marks, then explore pairing HIPS with GraniteShares' options-based Yield Boost strategies for those seeking weekly distributions and higher-octane cash flow—recognizing the higher volatility that comes with it.If you're planning for consistent cash in a falling-rate world, this conversation offers a clear framework, a battle-tested track record, and practical ways to assemble an income sleeve that pays. Welcome to Botched: A D&D Podcast! The time has come! It is our final episode of Season 9! We will be saying goodbye to SCP for now, but who knows, maybe it'll reappear in the future! In the meantime, we got a season finale to attend to! In this final episode there is no SCP to contain. Instead, it is time for the dreaded…employee evaluations! The 05 Council has sent a team of insightful and intelligent individuals to assess these 3 researchers based on their deeds throughout the year. They have been given information on each of the cases that the trio worked on, including all the people they hired, and the outcomes of every case. They will ask the researchers questions about these cases, then break to deliberate the fate of each researcher. The researchers will then have an opportunity for closing statements before their evaluation is delivered. It is possible for these individuals to be promoted, demoted, or kept in the same place. If their performance is deemed bad enough, they could even be terminated on the spot…permanently.Who are these mysterious reviewers? Where did they come from? What are their credentials? Which cases peaked their interest? What will their verdicts be? Would being sent to Site 69 to work for the monkes be a good or bad thing? Tune in and find out!Thank you so much to our special guests, Tvs Travis, Stephen Adams, and Charles The Rock God of Podcasting Mcfall. You can check out more of Tvs Travis here! You can check out more of Stephen Adams here! You can check out more of Charles here!We now have a PO Box! Welcome to Botched: A D&D Podcast! The fallout from the elderly care facility continues! As it turns out, this problem is a lot bigger than just one nursing home. It appears that this anomaly is spreading across the world. The researchers try to figure out what is causing this strange disease and how it spreads, but there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. Finally they decide to release one of their captives to see where it leads them.In the end, all the people seem to be coalescing in specific places…turning into some sort of meat based obelisks. How does this spread? Why does it spread? How can it be stopped? How far will one old man go to get revenge? How long will Tristan have the fiery shits? Tune in and find out!We now have a PO Box! Wanna send us something?
