When it rains it pours and in the case of Walnut Grove...it's been raining for TWO months.  Mr. Edwards returns to town after losing work in Mankato and mentions how the entire state is underwater.  However, he does have a plan.  His plan involves the Ingallas and the Edwards/Snider/Sanderson troupe to leave Walnut Grove and head East into the Dakota territory to pan for Gold.  The 400-mile trip leads them to Deadwood at which point they promptly leave and travel 50 more miles to arrive in Newton and then 5 miles beyond that to arrive at Shadow Creek.  Along the way we meet the Griffin and Delano families who are more than happy to assist and join the caravan on their way to Newton.  Once claims are...clamied it's a little lite hearted time as things are getting situated.  In this time Laura and Carl meet an old Hermit, Zachariah, who lives along the banks of Shadow creek.  However, when he hears that people are coming into the area to start looking for gold, Zachariah has some wisdom to share on the affects gold can have on people.  He is speaking from experience.  Will we ever see a map on LHOTP that shows the real location of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota?  Does a covered wagon have really good sound insulation that it can drown out the sound of rainfall?  Do you think that Seth Bullock and Al Swearengen were in Deadwood the same times the Ingallas and Edwards/Snider/Sanderson passed through?

A few weeks ago we talked to Louis Nicolls about the importance of having a good newsletter that helps people — some targeted, educational resource. Brennan Dunn knows a thing or two about that and has built an empire around segmentation and personalization. The last time he was on the show, we talked about Right Message. Today, we talk to him about email templates and newsletter strategies that we can implement with his new tool, Palladio. Top Takeaways Brennan equates emails to sales pages multiple times. Yes, they are a great way to establish trust and be a resource for subscribers...but we also want them to stand out and make them memorable for when we need to sell.Instead of doing educational emails, pausing them and doing a sales sequence, Brennan recommends mixing in targeted sales messages through your emails. This allows you to show helpful resources at a time the subscriber is ready to buy...making it a win/win for both of you.Evergreen, or “Shadow” newsletters as Brennan calls them, are a great way to build a resource, be consistent with your newsletter, and focus on other tasks around marketing or building your list. This episode is brought to you by Athletic Greens and ButcherBox. For so long, we've been told that memory loss and dementia are just normal parts of aging. We now know it doesn't have to be that way, and that there are many measures we can proactively take to avoid cognitive decline as we age. Emerging research is helping us look at new ways to treat and even prevent devastating neurological diseases like Alzheimer's and dementia, giving people a newfound sense of hope. In today's episode, I talk with Dr. Marwan Sabbagh, Dr. Richard Isaacson, and Dr. Jay Lombard about the role of genetics in brain disorders, lifestyle habits you can start right now to reduce your risk or reverse symptoms, and why we need to look at bacteria as a cause of neurodegenerative disease. Dr. Marwan Sabbagh is a board-certified neurologist and considered one of the leading experts in Alzheimer's and dementia. He is on the editorial board for the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease and BMC Neurology and is now Editor-in-Chief of Neurology and Therapy. Dr. Sabbagh is the author of The Alzheimer's Answer: Reduce Your Risk and Keep Your Brain Healthy and The Alzheimer's Prevention Cookbook: 100 Recipes to Boost Brain Health. His latest book, Fighting for My Life: How to Thrive in the Shadow of Alzheimer's, is now available.Dr. Richard Isaacson serves as Director of the Center for Brain Health and Director of the Alzheimer's Prevention Clinic (APC) at Florida Atlantic University's Schmidt College of Medicine. He previously served as Director of the APC at the Weill Cornell Memory Disorders Program, Assistant Dean of Faculty Development, and Associate Professor of Neurology at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian. He remains as Adjunct Associate Professor of Neurology in the Department of Neurology at Weill Cornell. Dr. Jay Lombard is an internationally acclaimed neurologist, author, and keynote speaker specializing in neuroimmunological conditions and medical mysteries. Dr. Lombard integrates biological, psychological, and existential components in his holistic treatment approach. Dr. Lombard's clinical experience revealed an interesting pattern: one patient with ALS also had small-intestine bacterial overgrowth, another had ulcerative colitis, yet another had Crohn's, and so on. He started seeing the connections between these bacterial imbalances and Clostridium difficile, or C. diff, and the link to neurological symptoms. In this episode Kate speaks with New Zealand Visual Artist Phoebe Gander. Phoebe shares how difficult it was to live most of her life with undiagnosed ADHD, how for years she believed there was something deeply faulty about her and how that was the root cause of self-hatred and years of depression. When her own young son was diagnosed with ADHD, it led her to her own diagnoses which set her on a path of a deep healing and self acceptance which ultimately allowed her to step into the superpowers that ADHD had in store for her.  So many of us KNOW from a young age what we love and what makes us happy but in a misguided effort to be like everyone else we so often talk ourselves out of following those dreams. Phoebe's story is a reminder to me of how important it is that we commit to seeing each other's differences as gifts, not things to be scared of. So much suffering and trauma can be avoided if we are encouraged to lean into what makes us different, rather than trying to make it go away. One of my favourite moments in the episode is when Phoebe talks about her painting “No light, no shadow” and how for her it is a very clear example for her of what she feels creativity is trying to do through her; which is to remind herself and others that without darkness there can be no light. When I think about little Phoebe and ALL the little people everywhere who are trying so desperately to achieve all the same things in all the same ways as their peers despite the fact that that is simply not how life works - my heart gets a lump in its throat. I wish we could just wave a magic wand right now and let every single person past present and future know this:  the thing that makes you different IS the thing that makes YOU so special. I am roaring encouragement at you to not waste another moment: LEAN into this thing. Things Phoebe and I talk about-How so many of us KNOW from a young age what we want to do, but in a misguided effort to be like everyone else we talk ourselves out of following our dreams.-What it was like to have undiagnosed ADHD for much of her life (no explanation for why she was so “different” -What the gifts and challenges of ADHD have been - learning how to balance those. -What creativity really is and what it is trying to do through her -Why she calls herself an emerging artist (even though she is very accomplished) -How the two years she studied art and theater in university were the “best two years of her life: -The pressure to come up with a “reasonable” job when we are younger. -How she hit rock bottom and what borough her back -Post-natal depression, post natal anxiety-Whether you can be a “real” artist even if you can't draw (spoiler: the answer is yes) About Phoebe Gander:Phoebe Gander is a mixed media Artist, inspired by the beautiful ocean, skies and landscape where she lives with her family in Wainui Beach on the east coast of New Zealand. She predominantly uses acrylic paint and epoxy resin, as well as other fluid mediums such as acrylic ink and alcohol ink. She is self taught in these mediums however has a BA hons degree in printed surface design, which she gained studying at Falmouth College of Arts in the UK. She began creating art regularly again in 2018 and creates work using many layers, using paint and sometimes resin or other media to create depth and intrigue. Phoebe is fascinated by creating artworks that pull the viewer closer and drawn to creating abstract landscapes, full of textures and marks that tell a story. To her, there is something captivating about nature - it's a never ending source of inspiration, ever changing with the seasons, the weather... in a time where everything is fleeting, where people want to consume things so quickly, she creates artworks for you to stand still and consider a moment caught in time. Living just across the road from the beach and with a backdrop of hills behind her home studio she feels a strong connection to the landscape that surrounds her.Originally from the UK, Phoebe has lived in New Zealand with her husband for the past 15 years where they've since had three children.Kate Shepherd: art | website | instagramMorning Moon Nature Jewelry | website |  instagramCreative Genius Podcast | website | instagramPhoebe Gander: website | facebook | instagramResources discussed in this episode:Alcohol inksResin Additude.mag diagnostic tool for addDr, Richard Barkley adhd researchPower of Now Eckhart TolleIf you or someone you know is suffering with Post-Natal or Depression of any kind, please reach out to your local health-care provider Please share the show with a friend and if you are moved to make a financial contribution to the production of this podcast, THANK YOU here is the link for our Patreon

Queen's Shadow and Queen's Peril took the Star Wars publishing community by storm by retroactively reshaping the prequel films through the lens of Padmé and her allies, and after such riveting success, Queen's Hope had quite the legend to live up to. Ep. 25 (Part 2 of 2) | Thomas Hübl, renowned spiritual teacher, author, expert on collective trauma, and creator and facilitator of The Collective Trauma Integration Process, shares fascinating, life changing information about the dynamics of collective trauma—how it is embodied and perpetuated in the language we use, and how we are bound together in a sort of “mutual collusion” that predisposes us to repeat our past, and to repeat over and over the things we would much rather leave behind. With remarkable insight and wisdom garnered from years of study, exploration, and effectively working with large groups to integrate collective shadow, Thomas also explains how we can create space for a new future by metabolizing the suffering held in both our personal and collective unconscious and making awakening and spiritual clarity the indubitable priority of our lives.
