This session, everyone was still reeling from the two weeks of SCOTUS mayhem. There's a lot of speculation about what the rulings mean about the future of the country, but a lot of agreement that this was an overplay. The RS'ers shared some personal stories and their mission to cause a stir to make sure the country doesn't go backwards.
This session was recording right after the Supreme Court overturned its' own precedence, Roe v Wade (6/24/22). The discussion was passionately heated and led to spectulation of Clarence & Ginni's future, other decisions that are on the chopping block, civil rights and slavery. Jasmine and Rikkilynn joined the RS'ers for a lively conversation that started with examples of kindness and evolved to a robust discussion. Lots of laughs and stories shared intergenerationally.
This week, the RS'ers were joined by Rikkilynn and Will, two members of Curry Senior Center's staff. The episode starts with a lively discussion of affordable housing versus low-income housing and that led to stories about the politics of the neighborhood between vigiliante and police officers and the absence of community. We ended on a high note with MJ sharing some wisdom: Remember, you are worthy. We are all worthy and we all have skills to contribute to humanity.
