A former prime minister goes after a whistleblower and what that means for those who dare to speak out. Why a natural ingredient that could cover up to 40 percent of France's fertiliser needs is currently being flushed down the loo. And France's halting steps towards adopting daylight savings time. Former prime minister Édouard Philippe, currently one of the leading contenders in next year's presidential race, is facing allegations of embezzling funds from Le Havre, the city he governs as mayor. A civil servant first raised the alarm over the alleged misconduct, and now the city has attacked her whistleblower status. Cléo Bour, legal manager of the Maison des Lanceurs d'Alerte, which provides support to whistleblowers, talks about France's fraught relationship with those who speak out, the patchwork of protections available to them, and what it means when a powerful political figure uses public resources to go after them. (Listen @1'50'') France, Europe's largest agricultural producer, relies heavily on imported fertilisers to keep its fields producing. But the Middle East crisis has driven up the price of nitrogen-based fertilisers, while the cadmium-rich phosphates France imports from Morocco have serious health impacts. Microbiologist Marc-André Selosse argues there are sound financial, environmental and health reasons to look for homegrown alternatives – such as human waste, which he suggests could provide up to 40 percent of France's fertiliser needs. We also visit a pioneering urine collection point near Paris, run by the Ocapi research programme, which benefits a local farmer. (Listen @18') France has been shifting its clocks forward in spring and back in autumn every year since 1976, but it first adopted daylight savings time in June 1916. (Listen @12'05'') Episode mixed by Cecile Pompeani. Spotlight on France is a podcast from Radio France International. Find us on rfienglish.com, Apple podcasts, Spotify or your favourite podcast app.

Daylight savings time wrecked Opie and Ron the Waiter this week—waking up at 5 AM, feeling like zombies, and ranting about permanent time changes, heart attack risks, and traffic fatalities from the clock switch. The duo dives into Trump's Iran war fallout: oil hitting $120 a barrel, gas prices soaring 60 cents in a week, diesel up 24% crushing farmers and truckers, and AI data centers targeted in the Gulf. Mixed with wild stories—kibbutz hookups, Ron's first "enveloping" experience, Epstein-Putin-Trump theories, and Opie's injured dog drama—this episode delivers unfiltered comedy, current events breakdowns, and real talk.Raw, edgy, no-BS vibes from the Opie Radio podcast. If you woke up today feeling like a raccoon that got hit by a clock, congratulations — you survived Daylight Saving Time. The Rizzuto Show crew rolls into the studio extra groggy and immediately starts questioning why society still does this whole “change the clocks and ruin everyone's Monday” thing. Apparently only a tiny percentage of people actually like the time change, and based on the energy in the room today… those people are clearly not listeners of this daily comedy show.Moon also drops a realization that hits way too close to home: he thinks he was legitimately sick all last week and didn't even realize it. Which explains the random dark thoughts, exhaustion, and that strange moment where everything in life felt terrible for no reason. Turns out sometimes your brain just needs a reminder that you're not miserable — you're just sick.Meanwhile, the gang dives into one of the weirdest studies ever released: New Music Friday might be causing car accidents. Apparently super fans are so excited about new album drops that they're scrolling through track lists, reading lyrics, and switching songs while driving 65 mph. In other words: people are literally dying to hear the new record. Maybe just hit shuffle and keep both hands on the wheel. The show also checks in on Rafe's ongoing mission to get into Canada so he can complete a ceremonial trip with the Blackfoot Nation — which now apparently involves mountains, lava rocks, sweat lodges, and a stand-up comedy performance for the entire community. The only problem? Canada isn't exactly thrilled about letting him across the border.Plus:AI transparency coming to streaming musicThe terrifying incident involving Rihanna's homeMachine Gun Kelly fans falling through the stageDave Mustaine considering an acting career (yes, really)A debate over whether KISS are technically clownsThe weirdest celebrity solo music flops everIt's chaos, questionable science, celebrity nonsense, and the usual Monday brain fog — exactly what you expect from your favorite daily comedy show.If you're looking for weird news, pop culture commentary, and a group of radio hosts trying to function on one less hour of sleep, this episode of The Rizzuto Show daily comedy show delivers all of it.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

This week on Group Chat, the guys kick things off fresh off Daylight Savings — and nobody's mad about it. The LA Marathon took over the city, and with it came one of the most unbelievable finishes in recent sports memory: Nathan Smith, a 36-year-old middle school teacher, came from behind in the final seconds to steal the win in a photo finish for the ages. Nike, call this man. The crew also digs into the controversy around LA handing out medals at mile 18, the logistics of playing Frogger through 10,000 runners on Sunset, and why Boston will always have more credibility. From there: Is Whole Foods actually one of the cheapest grocery stores in America? The guys make the case — and call out the "whole paycheck" narrative as outdated marketing. Plus, the best days of the week to shop on Amazon, Walmart, and Revolve thanks to dynamic pricing, and what surge pricing has taught us about how we spend. The five wealthiest counties in the US are all in the DC area. What does that tell us about who's really winning? The crew breaks it down. And finally: matcha is everywhere, vegetarianism might be the new woke, and Drama's Fantasy Factory is going viral on TikTok all over again.

Twice a year, we adjust our clocks—but it often feels like our bodies and routines take much longer to adjust. Daylight Saving Time can disrupt sleep, slow our mornings, and leave us feeling out of sync. While it may seem like a small inconvenience, even minor shifts can reveal how tightly we cling to our schedules and sense of control. Joshua 10:13 reminds us that God alone holds authority over time. When the sun stood still, it was not human effort that altered the day, but divine power. We cannot stop or stretch time, but we can trust the One who governs it. Ecclesiastes tells us there is a season for everything. God establishes times and purposes beyond our understanding. Even when change feels inconvenient, His timing remains perfect. Adjustments—whether seasonal or personal—invite us to surrender our rhythms to Him. It’s easy to grumble when sleep is lost or routines are disrupted. Yet even in something as ordinary as a clock change, we are given an opportunity: will we respond with frustration, or with trust? God uses seasons and shifts to refine our patience, remind us of our dependence, and redirect our focus. His timing is not random. He makes everything beautiful in its time—even the transitions we resist. As you “spring ahead,” remember that your schedule is not sovereign. God is. And He is faithful to guide your steps at exactly the right pace. Main Takeaways God alone has authority over time. Seasonal changes can reveal our reliance on routine and control. Ecclesiastes reminds us that God appoints every season with purpose. Even small disruptions offer opportunities to practice gratitude and trust. God’s timing is steady, purposeful, and good. Today’s Bible Verse “So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.” - Joshua 10:13 Your Daily Prayer Prayer excerpt for listeners: “Help me trust Your timing and adjust my heart as You adjust my schedule.” Listen to the full prayer here.
