Tilting at Windmills. In 1605, the first edition of Don Quixote hit the shelves, or whatever humans were using to keep their books off the floor then. In it, the aforementioned knight saddles up and hits the dirt road in an attempt to bring back some measure of civic values and romance to his daily […]
Is This Good? This week we're doing something different and hopefully upsetting. We're going to talk about whether things that everybody seems to like are actually good or just products of a mass hysteria, the sort of feeling that leads to the Salem Witch Trials or the spread of casual fascism. Music pick of the […]
New Year, Old You. 2025 was bullshit. I think we can all agree. It's 2026 now, and it's time to throw the old body over a railing and beat it like musty rug, maybe run it through the washing machine on the heavy-duty cycle in hot water with a half cup of bleach. You don't […]

Separating the Art from the Artist. Occasionally you encounter a piece of art, a book, a song, a painting, maybe even a performance, that moves you to the point that it alters the way you see the world, but then you find out the artist responsible is a terrible human, and it leaves you wondering […]

Transcendental Romanticism. We may come off as a little gruff and prone to fits of melancholy and wild perturbation, but really, we're just sensitive, romantic even. Our nostalgia is a romance for the past, a desperate clinging to things we never fell out of love with, like zines, skateboards, obscure music, artists, etc. Today we […]
In the Shadow of the Valley. Middle-age is a real problem, mainly because it comes with most of the challenges of old age, deteriorating body, addled mind, divorce, asteroids, and existential crisis, but you've still got to have a job and pretend you care about stuff. Sadly, also, you lose friends and mentors, and today […]

The Sunk Time Fallacy. People have a funny way of plowing their energy into bad ideas, and once they've made that initial investment, they keep going just to prove to themselves that the original idea wasn't a bad one. We do this with jobs, relationships, and religions. The fear of change is one factor. Ego […]
Loose Ends is cavorting among the snow-caps of Cumbria at the Kendal Mountain Festival this week. Chef d'Equipe Stuart Maconie reaches for the summit of chat with navigation from the adventurer and broadcaster Ben Fogle - celebrating twenty five years since he was Castaway on a remote Scottish island for the BBC reality TV show that he says is more relevant today than ever. The award-winning writer Sarah Hall provides forecasts as she describes the star of her new novel Helm - a personification of Britain's only named wind, the puckish, mercurial, destructive force of the Eden Valley she grew up on. Horrible Histories author Terry Deary confesses to being an inveterate townie, but keeps our spirits up with gruesome tales from his latest book Revolting, which asks what would make you fight the power and how would you do it? He cites the Suffragists and their daring idea to wrap themselves in brown paper and post themselves to Downing Street. With music from rising Americana band Smith and Liddle who hail from the Northeast and Cumbrian singer-songwriter Holly Brooke. Producer: Olive Clancy Assistant producer: Samuel Nixon Technical producers: Mark Ward and Liam Juniper Production coordinator: Pete Liggins
The Day in Front of Us. Whether you're rich or poor, sick or well, lazy or really, really lazy, you have to figure out what to do with your day. That seems like the fundamental conundrum facing humanity, and sure, the less money or health you have maybe the more of those choices get made […]

Good Dope, Bad Dope. Whether you're a street junky or not, you spend a lot of your day looking for the next little bump of dopamine. Whole oligarchies have grown up around the business of selling you small doses of your own brain chemicals. You hate that, but keep scrolling, because ultimately we're all addicted […]
Putting Baby in the Corner. You're a grown ass person with decades of life experience and refined tastes, and yet, somewhere in your mental closet you've got an array of awkward nostalgic loves for people, places and things that no longer fit your view of yourself as a person, like when you smoked weed and […]
Sue came in all flustered this morning after she waited for over 3 hours to speak at her town meeting last night - and never got the chance. The public comment wasn't until after she had to leave (probably 10 or 11pm!) So now, she is revolting!!
Something. Something. Male Friendships. Discuss. The common consensus is that the male population of Earth is experiencing an epidemic of loneliness, which leads to climbing rates of depression and suicide. We both have lots of friends, including being friends with each other, so today we're going to explain how to be friends with other men, […]
Comedian Ehsan Ahmad joins Bridget for a hilarious discussion about all things cultural including Muslims naming their kids "Jihad", the need to call out the crazy in your family, our government's meme wars, the absurdity of how Kamala lost the election by not going on a bunch of comedians' podcasts, why AI memes are to blame for your 20% energy spike, and his take on H1B visas. They also cover how there's no small government Republicans left, why it feels like we've been in a secret recession since COVID, the importance of home ownership and how it's out of reach for many Americans, the Riyadh comedy festival, why Bernie would've crushed Trump in 2016, and the changes they've seen in stand-up audiences in the last decade and what that tells them about the culture. Jean-Luc Brunel, the disgraced French modeling agent and close associate of Jeffrey Epstein, was accused in court filings of one of the most disturbing acts linked to the Epstein network — procuring a set of 12-year-old French triplets for Epstein as a “birthday gift.” According to testimony from Virginia Giuffre and other witnesses, Epstein allegedly bragged that Brunel had “bought them from their parents” in Paris by offering money and promises of modeling careers. The triplets were reportedly flown to the U.S., abused for several days, and then returned to France. While Brunel denied any involvement, the story became emblematic of how he allegedly exploited his modeling connections to funnel young girls into Epstein's orbit under the guise of legitimate work. The accusations fit a larger pattern of abuse stretching across Brunel's decades in the fashion industry. He was widely accused of using his agency, MC2 Model Management, which Epstein helped fund, to traffic underage girls from Europe and South America. French prosecutors arrested Brunel in December 2020 on charges of rape and trafficking minors, but before he could face trial, he was found hanged in his Paris jail cell in February 2022 — an eerily similar fate to Epstein's. His death left many questions unanswered, including the true extent of his role in supplying girls to Epstein and whether the triplets' story was ever properly investigated.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com
Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific. I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. We express a lot of opinions on this show, and opinions are like smart phones. Everyone has one and they all destroy your brain. Two-Hundred of Anything is Probably Too Many. In our wildest dreams, which include bank robberies, alien abductions and making out with our third grade teacher, we never imagined recording 200 podcasts. Is that a failure of imagination, hope or executive function? Hard to say. But to celebrate we're going to spend a whole hour answering […]
A Little Love and a Little Encouragement. Adulthood is a scam. You think, “Oh, I can vote and drink a beer,” but those minor luxuries come with a lifetime of work and the sorts of responsibilities and challenging relationships that wear a body down. We all have coping mechanisms. We're not all soft little kittens. […]

Vacation, All I Ever Wanted. Humans need downtime, time when they don't need to respond to emails or perform labors or be responsible for stuff generally, time away from the great grinding wheel of late stage capitalism, the non-stop kabuki theater of politics, and the soul-muting effect of the daily ritual. Americans don't get or […]

Remote Control. This episode of Revolting is completely dedicated to a show-by-show analysis of the late ‘80s MTV game show Remote Control with Ken Ober and Kari Wuhrer. Just kidding. What it's actually about is the time we all spend, while not at work or getting paid, thinking about work, and how sitting and thinking […]
The Law of the Conservation of Irritation. In the appendix to Einstein's paradigm-shifting 1905 treatise on special relativity, he mentions this little known law that states: Your level of irritation may vary within a given range, described by an infinite sine wave, but basically it always stays the same. Even if nothing much is going […]
The Looking Glass Self. In 1902 Charles Horton Cooley came up with this idea that our sense of self is formed in this sort of ricocheting set of judgments. Basically, you aren't who YOU think you are, and you aren't who other people think you are; you're who you think other people think you are. […]
A Partial List of Things We're Against. There's a subtle difference between being anti-establishment and anti-authority, but we're both. Also, anti-boredom. Anti-fascist. Yes. Obviously. We're against greed and avarice, whatever that is. We're against eggplant and zucchini, unless they're fried. We're against work and wage slavery, human trafficking, racism, sexism, size-ism, transphobia, homophobia and Strava. […]
The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Writer. Humans are social animals. We only make sense to ourselves in a larger context, and we spend the years of our lives trying to surround ourselves with good or interesting people, sometimes both. But the world is large and diffuse. The best people are scattered to the wind, like […]

Beyond Cracked. Even the most unserious athlete occasionally overdoes it. If you're like us, then sometimes you even overdo overdoing it. Maybe you've been there, dead in the saddle, dehydrated, cramped, contemplating your imminent death, praying for it even. And then you drink a full gas coke and feel much better. Music pick of the […]
Everything Louder Than Everything Else. Everything and everyone is competing for your attention. What most people don't realize is that they're ALSO competing for their own attention. What are we losing? How are we fighting back? Or are we all just blithely accepting that our minds are no longer our own? Music pick of the […]
Despite Our Best Intentions. A well-adjusted human being likely thrives due to a set of positive daily habits that support their physical, mental and emotional wellness. Most of us have a good idea what those habits are. Most of us find reasons, almost every day, not to do them. Music pick of the week: Robot […]

The Nine Ball Chronicles. Society is organized around the idea that people's brains work a certain way, even though we all know some extremely large percentage of people have brains that different ways work sometimes. It's like your dungeon master only likes clerics and doesn't care at all about bards or druids. I mean c'mon! […]

Being a Part of the Scene, Apart from the Scene. As a result, you find yourself standing in a crowd of seemingly random people, united […]
Run-Ins with Authority, Part II. Apparently, we've had enough problems with the man that it takes more than one episode to get through it all.
