Progressives overall are having a fit over the idea of Newsom being the candidate in 2028, but we agree he could totally mog Vance in a debate. Last week, President Trump announced he was overturning the Environmental Protection Agency’s "endangerment finding.” That finding is a scientific conclusion signed by the EPA in 2009. It determined that greenhouse gases are harmful to people and the environment, and it allowed the EPA to regulate heat trapping emissions like carbon dioxide and methane. The current Presidential administration says that climate change is a “hoax” and that environmental regulations hinder the economy. Current EPA head Lee Zeldin is praising the move by Trump. Environmental activists and democratic lawmakers took no time to denounce the decision, saying that it will harm public health and lead to intensifying climate change related catastrophes, such as wildfires, heatwaves, and flooding. And, of course, there’s a court challenge. California Governor Gavin Newsom stated that California intends to sue the federal government over this change – potentially leading to a drawn out, years long battle to determine what the EPA can and cannot do when it comes to greenhouse gas regulation. Washington attorney general Nick Brown has promised something similar. But how could its repeal change climate science and policy in the United States? And what does it mean for Washington? AOC gives vague and confused answers regarding whether the U.S. should defend Taiwan against China. Whitmer appears unsure when asked what “victory” in Ukraine looks like, deflecting the question to an ambassador. Commentary suggests this reflects a broader weakness in foreign‑policy understanding among potential 2028 Democratic contenders. 2. Criticism of Far‑Left Ideology The intellectual foundation of the far left is hollow compared to past decades. They claim AOC’s comments reflect ideological simplicity, reliance on identity politics, and lack of deep geopolitical knowledge. Suggestion that cultural Marxism and DEI-style frameworks have replaced rigorous foreign‑policy thought. 3. AOC’s Israel Comments AOC is criticized for saying U.S. aid to Israel should be conditioned and alleging Israel committed “genocide” in Gaza. The hosts argue her position is ideologically driven and historically insensitive, especially when stated in Germany. They also claim Hamas statements contradict the genocide narrative. 4. Predictions About 2028 Politics: AOC will likely run for president. Chuck Schumer may encourage her to do so to avoid competing with her for Senate. If AOC runs, Mondaire Jones / Mondami (context suggests a progressive challenger) could run for Schumer’s Senate seat. 5.
