Washington lawyer Dan Hull has seen it all and done it all, mostly as a Democrat. January 6th changed everything. The post “The Journey of John Daniel Hull” appeared first on ColemanNation.
Norm is joined in this rewind version of LAL Live by esteemed D.C.-based lawyer, Dan Hull. This week, Norm entered an appearance on behalf of Dan Hull's client and J6 defendant, Joe Biggs, J6 defendant and member of the Proud Boys who on the eve of the J6 Commission hearings was charged through a superseding indictment with seditious conspiracy in connection with the events of January 6, 2021. Norm asks Dan to shed light on the facets of the J6 prosecutions that are simply not making their way to the mainstream conversation, such as the nature of the Proud Boys, a profile on Joe Biggs, and what these prosecutions represent as we can best picture at this moment in American history. What is a superseding indictment? Is the Proud Boys a white nationalist organization? What in the world were the members of the Proud Boys doing in D.C. on January 6th? And what of the disparity in treatment of the Proud Boys and Antifa in American media, politics, and our system of justice? We have hosted Dan Hull on LAL multiple times before. His courage is nothing short of admirable, but indeed in short supply. Listen to this episode. Consider the courage Dan has displayed and the immense sacrifices he has made in defending a member of the Damned Class, and why Norm would so risk the same reputational and social recoils in pursuit of justice for Joe Biggs. Like, share, and subscribe! Norm is live every weekday on WICC 600AM/107.3FM from 12pm ET to 2pm ET. Stream Norm live at https://www.wicc600.com/. Follow @PattisPodcast on Twitter.

We're joined this week by the inimitable Dan Hull, Esq., the "Hull" in Hull McGuire PC, and the esteemed D.C.-based defense counsel to Mr. Henry Enrique Tarrio. Mr. Tarrio is a complicated guy with a lot to say. And I believe we may have been among the first beyond his inner circle to be informed of Mr. Tarrio's plan to step down as Chairman of the Proud Boys. As of your listening to this episode, Mr. Tarrio has indeed done so. But as you'll hear, his passion for liberty and political advocacy remain and so his aim is true. We are a country divided by tribal identities. And because of that, we've been misled as to the nature of the broader cultural narrative—not just misled as to the true nature of the Proud Boys. I am persuaded there is a fundamental crisis of legitimacy in this country. And people on both the Left and the Right cannot help but to sometimes look at our government as just another gang. I am reminded of Saint Augustine's report of an encounter between Alexander the Great and a rank Mediterranean pirate in which Alexander the Great asked the pirate why he terrorized the seas in pursuit of private gain, only for the pirate to turn the question around asking Alexander the Great why he terrorized the Mediterranean in pursuit of his own. When we are unable to discern between a single institution's naked assertion of power and its legitimate exercise of authority, we find ourselves in the midst of a legitimation crisis. Such is grievous for our republic. You can find Mr. Tarrio on Telegram and Rumble, where he is set to resume regular streams of his podcast, NBLE Live. We're back at it again, resolute in our humble efforts to save the republic. Are you ready? Dan Hull has seen it all in his decades as a high-powered DC lawyer. But defending January 6th defendants has been something completely different. The post “Dan Hull and the January 6th Defense” appeared first on ColemanNation.
We've officially transitioned to our new podcast platform! And we're eager to begin elevating the Law and Legitimacy experience for each of you who continue to download, listen, rate, and reach out to share your feedback. We are endlessly grateful for your continued support for LAL and we encourage you to tell someone about us! Episode 057 is an interview with J. Daniel Hull of Hull McGuire PC, a D.C.-based muscle boutique law firm. Dan is a true renaissance man. He is an international corporate and business law attorney, elite-level problem solver, an encyclopedia of American history and culture, quick-witted Twitter Bad Boy, and the progenitor of the world class and widely renown What About Clients?/What About Paris? blog dating to the early days of legal blogging in the mid-2000s. And? Dan is the sole reason that producer Michael Boyer and I made acquaintance earlier in 2021. That's right. Michael begged Dan to tell me he "wasn't an idiot" as Michael postured to take on obligations as producer for LAL. Query: who is more skilled in persuasion: Michael, for successfully lobbying Dan to make the pitch, or Dan, for successfully convincing me to give Michael a call? Anyway, this episode is an important one. It is sort of like staring at a Thomas Cole painting. Dan has a way of distilling the essence of American beauty that demands examination and is framed to inspire. Indeed, I submit to you that inspiration abounds herein. Take, for example, the Twelve Rules of Client Service. For young lawyers, this is the How-To Guide for building an enduring legacy within the legal profession. As Michael will tell you, the Twelve Rules draw upon a devotion and an ambition that exists only in those who really want to train themselves and thrive in a world that requires something more of its inhabitants than being "nice" and "smart." We're humbled by the timing of this episode's release. Some of you may know, but many of you will come to learn through this interview, of Dan's ongoing representation of a prominent J6 defendant, and member of the Proud Boys. Just this week, new footage has made its way into the public consciousness that supports Dan's account of the January 6th events at the Capitol, the lack of any cognizable overthrow plan, and Dan's conclusion that Americans simply "don't know each other anymore." We admire Dan, for more than his soul and wit; he is a man of great courage and wisdom. And who else do you know that had the late Alex Haley as a professor in undergrad? By John Hull | Today, I’ll continue the interview with my cousin, Dan Hull, who this weekend begins his 40th season of calling the play-by-play of high school football in Central Texas. As we heard from Dan in part one of this interview, the smaller high schools in Texas already have three and four games in the books, including their six-man football teams. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/elk-grove-news/support
On deck for this week's episode, Squeeze's difficult (for most people) 1985 reunion album, Cosi Fan Tutti Frutti. As the discussion with guest host Dan Hull reveals, however, there is a LOT to love about this album despite any flaws its very of-the-time production and the drug-induced mental states of Difford and Tilbrook may have saddled it with. Dan is a gifted storyteller who has a long history in the Phoenix storytelling community. He currently produces and co-hosts The Storyline SLAM, which takes place every month at The Newton, and you've got to check out Bad Buddhist, a film of his one man show of the same name. https://www.thestoryline.org/ https://badbuddhistmovie.com/ As always, I want to stress the importance of supporting the artists that are featured on this series, whether that’s through buying their music and merch, attending one of their concerts, or even simply following them on social media. Squeeze is indeed very active, recording and touring both as a band, and Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford with their respective solo endeavors--see them in whatever capacity you're able. Additionally, keep up to date on all their latest doings at http://www.squeezeofficial.com/ and through their social media (@squeezeogram on, appropriately, Instagram and @squeezeofficial on Twitter). On this edition of Limited Engagement, we have a bit of a double-header. First up, a quick conversation with Dan Hull, whose film, Bad Buddhist, will premier May 25th at 7 PM at Changing Hands/The Newton (tickets available here: https://www.changinghands.com/event/may2018/bad-buddhist-film-viewing-party). It's a great film, you should go see it. Then, I talk with writer Jason Keil. You can read Jason's work regularly in The New Times, among other publications, and read a concentrated sample of his work at http://jasonkeil.com. I also highly recommend you follow him on Twitter (@jasonekeil)--his is one of the best accounts out there. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

The OP-TEC Advanced Technological Education Center was launched in August 2006 with funding from the National Science Foundation. Under the direction of Dan Hull, the Center engages a consortium of two-year colleges, high schools, universities, national laboratories, industry partners, and professional societies. The participating entities have committed to join forces in creating a secondary-to-postsecondary “pipeline” of highly qualified and strongly motivated students and empowering community colleges to meet the urgent need for technicians in optics and photonics.OP-TEC serves two types of one- and two-year postsecondary programs: Those devoted to lasers, optics, and photonics technology; andThose devoted to technologies that are enabled by optics and photonics. OP-TEC is building support through curriculum, instructional materials, assessment, faculty development, recruiting, and support for institutional reform. OP-TEC will serve as a national clearinghouse for teaching materials; encourage more schools and colleges to offer programs, courses, and career information; and help high school teachers and community and technical college faculty members develop programs and labs to teach technical content. The project has four goals:Serve as a national resource center for optics and photonics education and training.Create, assemble, align, and distribute coordinated curriculum materials designed to support optics, laser, and photonics education in high schools, two-year colleges, and retraining of adult workers.Support established and new photonics education programs in high schools, community and technical colleges, universities, and professional societies.Provide education and training for administrators, counselors, high school teachers, and community college faculty members to prepare them to: design new photonics technology programs that meet their local needs;infuse photonics into programs in photonics-enabled technologies; andteach optics, photonics, and lasers using curriculum materials distributed by OP-TEC. OP-TEC is establishing a national infrastructure for developing and supporting widely disseminated educational programs in cutting-edge, high-demand technologies that require photonics. That infrastructure encompasses both the secondary and postsecondary levels and will involve collaboration between educators and industry personnel.Dan and his team are doing excellent work. In July I had the chance to interview him (on his birthday!) at the SAME-TEC 2008 Conference in Austin, TX.You can get more information on the OP-TEC National Center located in Waco, TX here.
