Last year, I got diagnosed with ADHD, and it explains literally everything. If you liked last week's episode with my guest Kylie (KK), you'll enjoy this one. We started chatting about my diagnosis. It turns out I've spent my entire life running on ADHD energy without knowing it. The psychiatrist told me I've essentially forged an entire career out of it. Which, when you think about it, is 100% correct. We dig into what that actually looks like: the anxiety that comes with it, the side effects of the medication, the time management stuff that drives people nuts, and all the random things I didn't realise were ADHD things until I started learning about it. (Like how I used to think I had a gluten intolerance for 10 years, only to realise it might've been anxiety the whole time.)There's also a chat about hyper-focusing, the constant creative ideas, finishing nothing, beating yourself up about it, and trying to explain all of this to people who just don't get it!And we end up talking about people like Cosi from South Aussie with Cosi, someone who's clearly got that same kind of energy and has built something incredible because of it, not despite it.If you enjoy this one, please leave a comment - and I'd love it if you'd hit the FOLLOW button!Wanna check out all things Podvan? ⬇️Facebook | Instagram | FB Group | Podvan Website | YouTube | TikTokThis is a Podvan Media production.

In this sprawling, hilarious, and surprisingly moving conversation, I catch up with a long-time mate from Adelaide radio days who (in her new job) has learned to castrate goats, keep bees, run three massive fundraising gala balls, and personally escort a fugitive through Cambodia - all while never missing a single sports day for her kids. The story is awesome. 10 years ago, our mate Cosi started a TV show from the dining room table in his house. That show became South Aussie with Cosi – and it's now in Season 15 on Channel 7 with a team of 11. Along the way, KK learned about bull semen, giant Santas, paperwork you can't imagine, and the kind of teamwork that makes impossible things happen. We also chat about how a single Cambodian cow lead to the most important thing she's ever helped create – a charity that's since gifted over 150 cows and built a world-class cattle facility in the middle of nowhere. This episode is all about saying yes without knowing the answer, burning the boats, handpicking good people, and the absolute chaos of building something from nothing! If you enjoy this one, please leave a comment - and I'd love it if you'd hit the FOLLOW button!Wanna check out all things Podvan? ⬇️Facebook | Instagram | FB Group | Podvan Website | YouTube | TikTokThis is a Podvan Media production.

Zeitgeist #4 s Tomášem Lindnerem, Magdalénou Fajtovou a Dominikou Perlínovou o zrychlující proměně světových pořádků a souvisejícím dění na setkání Světového ekonomického fóra. "Vegetarian in Paris with Amber Haggerty" is your ultimate guide to eating meat-free in the City of Light—and trust me, it's easier (and tastier) than you think! In this episode of Join Us in France, host Annie Sargent chats with Amber Haggerty, the expert behind The Vegetarian in Paris blog, about where to find the best plant-based meals in Paris. Whether you're a lifelong vegetarian, a curious foodie, or just looking to explore meat-free options, Amber shares her insider tips for navigating Parisian menus, avoiding tourist traps, and discovering hidden gems that even locals love. Listen to this episode ad-free Amber, a long-time vegetarian and Paris resident, reveals her favorite spots for everything from savory Breton galettes at Breizh Café to upscale vegetarian dining at Pristine, where the mushroom tart is legendary. She also highlights cozy wine bars like Le 1745, where you can build your own cheese board, and tiny bakeries like Le Comptoir de la Madeleine, famous for its warm, buttery madeleines. And if you're craving international flavors, she recommends Habesha for Ethiopian feasts or Zia for New Mexican brunch near the Eiffel Tower. But this episode isn't just about restaurants. Amber and Annie dive into practical advice, like how to spot vegetarian-friendly dishes on French menus (hint: the sprout emoji doesn't always mean meat-free!) and where to shop for gourmet ingredients, like 30-month-aged Comté at Fromagerie Hardouin. You'll also learn what gifts to bring home—think French salt, artisanal butter, or vacuum-packed galettes—that food lovers will adore. What makes this conversation special? Amber's passion for Paris shines through as she proves that vegetarian dining in the city isn't about sacrifice—it's about discovering delicious, creative meals that celebrate French cuisine without the meat. Annie's warm, engaging style makes it feel like you're getting advice from a trusted friend, and by the end, you'll be ready to book your trip and eat your way through Paris like a pro. If you've ever wondered how to enjoy French food as a vegetarian, this episode is for you. Hack Your Own PR

Play Episode Listen Later Jul 5, 2025 64:49

In this episode, I'm joined by Cosi Toni, Executive Producer of Channel Nine's Today Extra and all-around legend of live television. With nearly a decade of experience across producing, segment wrangling and live control room chaos, Cosi brings an infectious energy and razor-sharp editorial instinct to one of Australia's longest-running lifestyle programs. We talk about what really goes on behind the scenes of a two-and-a-half-hour daily live show, how she maps out a week of segments across celebrity, consumer, health, real-life stories and news — and what makes a pitch cut through when her inbox is bursting and her phone is off limits from 9am to 11:30am. On Hack Your Own PR, we explore the art and science of media relations, publicity, and storytelling to help you DIY PR, amplify your voice, and share your message. In this episode, Cosi breaks down: How she got her start as an intern on Today Extra and worked her way up to the EP's chair What makes Today Extra so dynamic, unpredictable, and welcoming of fresh story ideas Why her ideal guest is “ready to chat and not afraid to take a stand” How she balances the daily show format with bigger-picture programming and panel casting The visual expectations of TV: from B-roll and photos to on-screen charisma and timing Key Takeaways: Cosi wants to see the full package in your pitch: clear hook, guest bio, HD photos, video or sizzle reel, and visual assets like B-roll. Morning TV is fast-paced and visual — if there's no supporting imagery or talent can't deliver concise answers, it's a tough sell. Know the show before you pitch. Calling at 9:30am when they're live on-air? That's an instant red flag. Today Extra is always looking for new experts and storytellers — but they must be confident, succinct, and ready to contribute to a flowing conversation. There's no one formula — but the best pitches are clear, respectful of time, and deeply tailored to the show. What to Avoid: Copy-paste press releases without context. Cosi needs to know why the story matters now, and why it's right for her show. Forgetting it's TV: a talking head without visuals won't cut it. Sending incomplete pitches with no talent photo, bio, or media experience. Getting her name wrong (spoiler: it's Cosi, not Tony). This episode is a masterclass in live TV pitching, producer relationships, and how to turn a great story into a compelling segment on Australia's breakfast screens.
