Ms. Booth gives insight into the reasons why Black people are targeted by police and shares poetry inspired by the grieving families of the young men murdered at the hands of police officers.
As our country endures the latest in a long history of police violence towards Black people, we speak with poet and singer Ebony Isis Booth. Ebony shares about the Black experience in America after the murders of Alton Sterling and Filando Castile. In this interview, Ms. Booth gives insight into the reasons why Black people are targeted by police and shares poetry inspired by the grieving families of the young men murdered at the hands of police officers. Ebony Isis Booth is a poet in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She currently works as the Programs and Communications Coordinator at the Harwood Arts Center and is the co-founder of Burque Noir, a collaborative event between like-minded and multi-cultured artists who observe an underrepresented demographic in Albuquerque.
