Father Echert speaks of the growing pressure being leveled against him to stop "rocking the boat" from his pulpit. In response, Father speaks of the need to be smart in exposing the evil agenda of the children of darkness. Listen up, Fathers. Here's how it's done. Never back down, and also be wise as serpents and cooing as doves. You must continue to run the race and fight the good fight, no matter what the consequences. Listen up, children of light. It's our job to work with all good priests who have the courage to preach the truth from the pulpit, no matter how hard the children of darkness attempt to crack down on them.

In this episode we discuss chapters 2 & 3 of “Gaudete Et Exsultate (Rejoice and Be Glad)” by Pope Francis. We talk about our tendencies to fall into judgmentalism or self reliance and how these creep into our spiritual life. We also talk about the beauty of the Beatitudes and our call to get honest with ourselves about our pride and embrace poverty of spirit so as to fully live the Christian life and embrace grace more fully. One Thing We Love This Week: Sr. Miriam's One Thing - A Meditation on Givenness by John Paul II Michelle's One Thing - Celebrating Good and Faithful Priests especially the newly ordained Heather's One Thing - Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast Discussion Questions: Do you tend to struggle more with an intellectual approach to your spirituality that leads to judgment or with acting more on your own power and not relying on grace? What is your favorite Beatitude and why? What do you think about when Pope Francis says "the Beatitudes are like the Christian's identity card"? Pope Francis says we can only live the Beatitudes with the power of the Holy Spirit. What is one Beatitude that you need the power of the Holy Spirit to help you live today? Journal Questions: What holds you back from loving the poor in a personal way? Who do I need to show mercy to this week? How is my life working for other people? Quote to Ponder: "Yes I have many human faults and failures...But God bends down and uses us, you and me, to be his love and his compassion in the world; he bears our sins, our troubles and our faults. He depends on us to love the world and to show how much he loves it. if we are too concerned with ourselves we will have no time left for others” - St. Teresa of Calcutta

Chuck Morse and Sam Blumenfeld discuss his latest blog "In Defense of the Koch Brothers" http://awhigmanifesto.blogspot.com/2014/03/to-interview-chuck-morse-please-contact.html The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee is launching a vicious multimillion-dollar media campaign with the slogan: The G.O.P. is addicted to Koch (pronounced coke). Ironically, the Koch brothers are the only people listed on the Forbes Magazine top richest Americans who are supporters not of conservative but of libertarian causes. The rest, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, George Soros, not to mention the millionaires and billionaires at Google, the fat-cat insurance executives, the lawyers and the various culture merchants are predominantly liberal. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, expressing concern over the Koch brothers funding ads critical of Obamacare says: Right now, because of people like the two brothers, the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer, and the middle class is getting squeezed out of existence. They’re against everything that’s good for America today. Looks like the left has found a new enemy of the masses. We are witnessing the unseemly spectacleof the Democratic Party attacking two private citizens for their dissent. Rather than responding to the Koch brother’s legitimate critique of Obamacare, left-wing Democrats are launching a smear and hate campaign. This is classic leftism. They demonizes the opposition because they cannot defend the merits of their own ideas. Rather than debating the efficacy of their policies, they try to turn the tables with ugly campaigns of calumny and hate. Reid did the same thing during the 2012 election when he attacked Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for being rich. Unlike the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry, the richest man in the history of Congress, three times richer than Mitt Romney thanks to his second wife Teresa Heinz first husband’s trust fund, Romney made his money the old-fashioned way. He earned it. Unlike the generally parsimonious liberal millionaires and billionaires, the Koch Brothers are major philanthropists who have donated billions of their own money to medical research, the arts, and to charities they believe in. Koch Industries employs around fifty thousand people in the United States and they are known as good employers. No doubt, with the left wing smear machine in full gear, if they were not good employers we would never hear the end of it. Chuck interviews Ann Hendershoot, co-author with Christopher White of: Renewal: How a New Generation of Faithful Priests and Bishops Is Revitalizing the Catholic Church.
