Praise Series #25 Delight In The LordPsalm 37:4 “Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”Have you ever thought about taking delight in the Lord?  I am sure this is not the only time this idea is presented in the Bible.  Actually there are more than 10 instances in the Bible where it talks about taking delight in the Lord or in His law.  I have never thought of taking delight in the Lord before.  I mean, I love him, and I spend time with him, but to be honest, when I read this verse, I wondered how I would even take delight in the Lord.  I literally typed into the search bar on my computer, “How does one delight in the Lord?”  I tell you this because I don't want you to think that because I am doing this podcast, I have everything figured out.  I don't want you to think when I speak I am speaking with any authority as if I was an expert.  I am on the same journey you are on.  We could study the Bible our whole lives and still not have it all figured out.When I read a scripture verse, I listen to what the Holy Spirit has to tell me about the verse. I also think about what I have learned up until this point, and sometimes, many times, I go to the internet to see what others say about this verse.  My goal with this podcast is for us to be on this journey together to discover God's Word more fully and to see how we can apply that Word to our daily lives.  I am not choosing verses that I already understand.  Actually, I am not really choosing the verses.  I am using the verses from my prayer group that people feel inspired by the Holy Spirit to share.  This means that often I get a verse and don't completely understand what it means.  Sometimes the Holy Spirit gives me understanding, and sometimes I find it through research.  I do know that it is important to read the scripture and to try to understand it.  This was confirmed at my prayer group the other day, someone felt strongly that the Lord wanted to tell us that His word is as pertinent today as it was then.  We have the Lord right in our tabernacle, and he is right there with us in adoration and in everything.  His word is still as powerful today as it was.  That is why it is important to read his word and fill us so that we can fill ourselves with what God wants to tell us. God will speak to you directly through the scriptures if you let Him.Ok, back to today's verse.  How does one delight in the Lord?  I found two really good articles and I will put a link to them in the show notes.  One of them was titled, “What Does It Mean To Take Delight In The Lord?” and was written by Tracy Kulwicki.  In this article Tracy talks not only about this verse, but the verses we discussed yesterday.  Psalm 37:3-4 “Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart's desires.”  The author said that before you get the desires of your heart, you need to trust in the Lord, do good, and take delight in the Lord.  She says the reason we need to do these things first is not that we need to win God over or because we need to work hard to get things from God.  The reason we need to do these things is that when we do these things first, then our desires become His.  We talked a lot yesterday about how to trust in the Lord and do good.  Today we will talk about how we delight in the Lord?  Here is what Tracy says about how we can delight in the Lord.  “When I take delight in my children, I spend time with them. I watch the things they do. I notice who they are. I notice their features and character. I laugh at the funny things they do. I hold them close. I talk with them. I listen to them. I recognize the unique things about them that make them who they are. I think about them often. I focus on the great things about them that I love. I remember the words they've said that melt my heart, the great memories we've created together, and the times when we overcame something challenging together.She went on to say, “We can do the same things with God. We take delight in God by spending time with Him, watching the things He is doing in our lives. We can notice who He is, learn about His features and characteristics. We can laugh at the funny moments in our lives that come from His hand. We can hold Him close, talk with Him, and listen to Him. Recognize who He is, think about Him all throughout our day, and focus on His greatness and love. We can remember the times He has moved in our lives, the things He has done for us, and the prayers He has answered.”I think this is both a great description of how we already delight in things and also how we can apply what we are already doing to God.  Just listening to that description of how we delight in our children made me smile.  It made me think of how much I love my children.  If you don't have children, I bet you do have something that you delight in as she described above.  It might be a pet, friends, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends.  Whatever it is that you delight in, that was a pretty good description of how we go about doing it.  Then thinking about how I could apply that to our Lord made me smile as well.  I love our Lord.  I am sure you do too, or you wouldn't be listening to a podcast titled, “Walk Boldly With Jesus.”  Thinking about all the ways we can delight in him makes me smile and warms my heart.  Let me break down some of the things she said so we can really remember them.Spend time with Him.  This is something we talk about a lot.  However, in this context, we are not talking about it as if spending time with the Lord is one more thing on your to-do list.  Spend time with Him with the intent to delight in Him.  Set aside time for Him and then look forward to that time in the same way you would look forward to spending time with anyone or anything that you delight in.Watch the things He is doing in your life.  Take notice throughout the day of what the Lord is doing in your life.  Focus on the big and small ways that God is showing up for you each and every day.  He is there and you will notice where He is if you look for Him.  The more you look, the more you will see Him.  
“Seek, and you shall find.”We can notice who He is.  We can learn about His features and characteristics.  There are a number of ways we can do this.  If we read the Bible, we will learn a lot about who God is, who Jesus is, and who the Holy Spirit is.  Reading God's word is a great way to get to know Him.  It is also not the only way.  You can read books written by Saints, theologians, and people who have studied the Bible and history.  You can listen to podcasts or watch movies about God.  We live in an age where all the knowledge you want is right at your fingertips.  Whatever way you learn best is great.  It doesn't have to be just one way.  There is no right or wrong way to learn about the Lord.  Do what is best for you.  There are many roads all leading to the same place.Laugh at the funny moments that God brings us.  I am sure we have all had funny moments in our lives.  I am sure we have had times when we knew how things were going to go and they went horribly wrong in our eyes, and perfectly right in the Lord's eyes.  When we are no longer in that situation, we can look back on it and see how funny it actually is.  God has a great sense of humor.  The ladies at the prayer group get to witness this frequently when God gives them a vision.  Think of any of these funny times that God has given to you.  Humor in our lives is a gift.We can hold Him close, talk to Him, and listen to Him.  These are all possible.  You may be wondering how we can hold Him close when He is not physically here.  I can think of two ways.  First, if you are Catholic, then you can receive the Eucharist, and He literally couldn't be any closer to you.  Second, you can hold him close to your heart in the same way that you hold those that you have lost close to your heart.  If you have ever lost someone close to you, then you know that is not just a figure of speech.  You are literally holding those people close to your heart.  I think we all know that we can talk to Him, but do we do it?  How often do you talk to the Lord?  He is always available and ready to listen.  If you are not doing this often, maybe it is time to do it more.  You may know that you can talk to the Lord, but did you know that you can listen to Him as well?  I don't think we do this often enough.  God wants to talk to us, but how many of us give Him the time to listen?  Recognize who He is.  When I read that, I think of praising Him.  Not just recognizing that He is God, but recognizing all that entails.  Recognizing that He is the creator of all things.  He is the Lord God Almighty.  There is so much to who He is, and taking some time to explore that and to celebrate that would definitely help you delight in Him.Think about Him all throughout the day and focus on His goodness and His Love.  This is a great one to end with.  Try to turn your thoughts to Him all throughout the day.  I believe she mentioned in the article to set reminders on your phone until you are trained to do it automatically.  Also, focus on His goodness and His love.  When we focus on those two things, I don't know how we can do anything else but delight in the Lord.  God's goodness and love are so amazing.  They are unsurpassed by anything else.  If we keep these in mind, we are guaranteed to delight in Him.There is so much more in Tracy's article.  I urge you to read her full article.  (click here for article) You can click on the link in the show notes or even just Google “What does it mean to take delight in the Lord?”  Her website is workingmomsbalance.com. Praise Series #22 His Love Endures ForeverPsalm 136 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.Give thanks to the God of gods.  His love endures forever.  Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever.To him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever.Who, by his understanding, made the heavens, his love endures forever.who spread out the earth upon the waters, His love endures forever.  Who made the great lights—His love endures forever.  The sun to govern the day, His love endures forever.
the moon and stars to govern the night; His love endures forever.To him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, His love endures forever.
and brought Israel out from among them. His love endures forever.with a mighty hand and outstretched arm; His love endures forever.to him who divided the Red Sea[a] asunder His love endures forever.
and brought Israel through the midst of it, His love endures forever.
but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea; His love endures forever.to him who led his people through the wilderness; His love endures forever.To him who struck down great kings, His love endures forever.
and killed mighty kings—His love endures forever.
Sihon, king of the Amorites, His love endures forever.
and Og, king of Bashan—His love endures forever.
and gave their land as an inheritance. His love endures forever.
An inheritance to his servant Israel. His love endures forever.He remembered us in our low estate. His love endures forever.And freed us from our enemies. His love endures forever.
He gives food to every creature. His love endures forever.Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.I know this verse is a lot longer than I usually do.  I usually pick a verse or two, and this is all 26 verses of this Psalm.  Psalm 136:6 “who spread out the earth upon the waters, His love endures forever” was the verse that led me to this Psalm in the first place.  I decided to read the whole Psalm as I felt perhaps this was a small part of something bigger.  When I read the whole thing, I instantly felt like I should share the whole thing.  Since the phrase “His love endures forever” is repeated throughout the whole Psalm, I thought I would just take that out to make it shorter and just repeat it after each section.  However, when I had that thought, I immediately got the sense God wanted me to leave it in there.  I felt He was saying to me that we need to have that reminder over and over again today.  This Psalm today has two purposes.  First and foremost, to remind you over and over again, so many times, that there is no way you can forget that God's love endures forever.  Forever is a very long time.  It means it never goes away.  God's love lasts forever; it doesn't say it lasts a lifetime, it says forever.  It doesn't say that His love lasts until you do something He doesn't like, it says forever.  It doesn't say that it endures until you get sick or are in a seemingly impossible situation, and then it goes away.  It says it endures forever.  It also doesn't say that His love endures forever as long as you don't walk away, as long as you do all the things you are supposed to do, or as long as you get it right all the time.  No, it says His love endures forever, and that's it.  There are no conditions placed on it; there is no requirement for you. God has loved you from the beginning of time, and He will continue to love you forever, regardless of circumstances.  That is pretty amazing when you really think about it.  Who else can you say that about?  Whose love will endure forever, regardless of your actions and regardless of time?  The second purpose of this psalm today is to remind us of some of the remarkable things God has done for us over the years.  The sense I am getting this morning is that some of you listening to this episode may be struggling with feeling God's Love right now. Maybe you are sick, and you feel as though He is not answering your prayers.  Maybe you are feeling stuck in a family situation that seems impossible and feel as though He is not hearing your prayers.  Maybe nothing in particular is wrong; you just don't really feel a sense that God is with you right now.  Whatever your particular circumstance is, God wants you to know that He is speaking directly to you today.  He hears you, He is answering your prayers, He loves you, and most importantly, He is right there with you through it all.  This Psalm is for you.  This is your heavenly Father letting you know that His love endures forever, and just as he did all these things for His people in the past, He will do just as much for you.  He is moving mountains in your life. He is preparing you for amazing things, you just can't see it yet.  Hang in there, your miracle is coming!!“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. Give thanks to the God of gods.  Give thanks to the Lord of lords: to him who alone does great wonders, who by his understanding made the heavens, who spread out the earth upon the waters, who made the great lights— the sun to govern the day, the moon and stars to govern the night;”  Can you imagine how powerful God must be to create the whole universe.  He made the heavens, the earth, the sun, the moon, and the stars, just for us. Every time you look at the sun, the moon, or the stars, you can think of how much God loves you.  Hopefully, after hearing this verse, when you look at them, it will be a reminder to you that His love endures forever.  When you can't feel God's love or His Presence in your life, look to the sun, moon, or stars and remember His promise that His love endures forever.  “To him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt and brought Israel out from among them with a mighty hand and outstretched arm; to him who divided the Red Sea asunder and brought Israel through the midst of it, but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea; to him who led his people through the wilderness;”  Imagine if God can do all of this for His people, what He will do for you.  God did not just strike down the firstborn of Egypt; He gave the Pharaoh multiple chances to let the Lord's people go.  He also told His people what to do so that their firstborn children would not be lost.  He divided the Red Sea for His people.  They felt lost; they could not see a way out with the Red Sea on one side and an army closing in on the other.  I am sure many of them felt as if God had led them to their death.  Yet, God made a way where there wasn't one.  He did not just lead them to freedom; he also destroyed their enemies, the army that was pursuing them.  God will do the same for you!  He will make a way where you don't see one.  He will make a way back from this illness, out of the family situation, out of the work situation, and out of any other situation you find yourself in, no matter how impossible it seems.  He is the Waymaker. He always finds a way.  “To him who struck down great kings, and killed mighty kings—Sihon king of the Amorites and Og king of Bashan—and gave their land as an inheritance, an inheritance to his servant Israel.”  The Lord gave His people an inheritance.  The people entering these fights did not always think they would be victorious.  Sometimes, many times, over the years, God's people were outnumbered.  They would go into battle knowing that they were not only outnumbered, but also had fewer weapons, fewer resources, fewer everything.  They definitely wouldn't have been favored to win if people were betting based on appearances.  However, what they did have was the favor of God.  That is all they needed.  No matter how hopeless your situation seems, God has the power to fix it, to save you from it, and to bring you out of it.  We just have to keep relying on Him and waiting for His time, now our time.  He has struck down kings; he can surely take care of what is in your way.  God's got you!  He will save you.“He remembered us in our low estate and freed us from our enemies. He gives food to every creature. Give thanks to the God of heaven.”  God remembers you always, not just when everything is going great, and you are high on life.  He remembers you when you are at your lowest as well.  He has freed His people from so many enemies, and He will free you, too.  If there is one thing we have learned from reviewing all these things the Lord has done for us, it is that nothing is too great for Him. There is no enemy too powerful, no situation too complicated for the Lord our God.  The verse ends with “Give thanks to the God of heaven.”  I think you will be surprised by how far the smallest amount of gratitude will get you.  The Lord has done so many incredible things, and He really loves it when we acknowledge that.  Who doesn't like to be appreciated, right?  We owe everything to the Lord.  We have no idea how many things He has saved us from throughout each day, and then when you add in all the things He has done for us.  We could never repay Him, and He is not asking us to.  However, we can thank Him.  We can let Him know how grateful we are.  If you want to see God more at work in your lives, I challenge you to take 5 minutes or less out of your day and intentionally thank the Lord of all you have seen Him do in your life that day.  I bet, if you do this, you will begin to see more and more.  I am not sure if God is actually doing more and more when we intentionally thank Him, or if He is doing the same, but we are just noticing more.  Either way, you will see the Lord more at work in your life when you begin to be grateful for each thing you notice.  I want to leave you with the phrase we have heard most today, “His Love endures forever.”Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless all those listening to this episode today.  Lord, you are amazing, and we are so grateful for all the things you have done for your people throughout the ages.  We are so grateful that you love us so much.  Lord, thank you for giving us a love that endures forever.  Thank you for taking care of our enemies and protecting us from all things.  Thank you for being more powerful than everything else.  Thank you for making a way when we can't see one.  We are so grateful that your ways are higher than our ways and your thoughts higher than our thoughts.  We would be lost without you, Lord.  Father, help us to be more grateful for all that you do.  Help us to take time out of our days to intentionally try to see you at work in our lives.  We love you so much, Lord, help us to feel your love.  You are truly awe-inspiring, and we ask all of this in accordance with your will and in Jesus' holy name, Amen.Thank you so much for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus.  I look forward to spending time with you again tomorrow. January 01 2026 Thursday Who Jesus Made You To Be / Week 07 All The Good Things We Have In Christ Jesus #findoutwhoyouare My Vision My vision is to teach the world Who They Are In Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior! To Teach them what the Bible says about them and who they have been made to be in the promises of God's Word. This changed my life years ago and completely transformed me from a person full of doubt, fear and unbelief to a strong confident Christian that knows I can do anything through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. And I'm determined to teach the world what God has taught and commissioned me to teach and that is His Word.  That commission takes me to jails and detention centers weekly along with other open doors at many churches and ministries that are wanting to teach these important truths to the world. My podcast goes out 6 days a week to help the people I am ministering to grow in the truths that God has taught me for many years now. My Prayers For The World Ephesians 1:15-23 NLT  'Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God's people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. Matthew 11:28  Find Rest In Jesus Christ Your Lord and Savior… Mark 10:29-30  100 Fold Return…  Psalm 37:4  God will give you the desires of your heart… The Galations, having launched their Christian experience by faith, seem content to leave their voyage of faith and chart a new course based on works—a course Paul finds disturbing.  His letter to the Galations is a vigorous attack against the gospel of works and a defense of the gospel of faith.   Paul begins by setting forth his credentials as an apostle with a message from God:  blessing comes from God on the basis of faith, not law.  The law declares men guilty and imprisons them; faith sets men free to enjoy liberty in Christ.  But liberty is not license.  Freedom in Christ means freedom to produce the fruits of righteousness through a Spirit-led lifesty Philemon 1:6 Romans 10:9-10  Salvation… 1 John 1:9  Confess your sins God Will Cleanse You… Romans 13:8  Live in God's Love… Romans 8:16-17  Heirs of God and Joint Heirs with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior… Revelation 1:6  We are kings and priest in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior… Romans 10:13  Call On The Name Of Jesus And Make Him Lord today… The Biblical Definition Of Grace Is God's Unmerited Favor… Matthew 18:19-20  I will agree with you about your prayer request… Acts 10:34  God is not a respecter of persons. To Teach them what the Bible says about them and who they have been made to be in the promises of God's Word. This changed my life years ago and completely transformed me from a person full of doubt, fear and unbelief to a strong confident Christian that knows I can do anything through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. And I'm determined to teach the world what God has taught and commissioned me to teach and that is His Word.  That commission takes me to jails and detention centers weekly along with other open doors at many churches and ministries that are wanting to teach these important truths to the world. Philippians 2:7-8 (Message) Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. He had equal status with God but didn't think so much of himself that he had to cling to the advantages of that status no matter what. Not at all. When the time came, he set aside the privileges of deity and took on the status of a slave, became human! Having become human, he stayed human. It was an incredibly humbling process. He didn't claim special privileges. Instead, he lived a selfless, obedient life and then died a selfless, obedient death—and the worst kind of death at that—a crucifixion. The amazing thing about Christmas is that the Almighty God on high knew we would ever be able to measure up enough to be worthy of his Kingdom. But that didn't stop His Love for us. Instead, He came for us. He stepped aside from his status, position, and Holiness and lowered himself because of Love. And he didn't just do it one time, as in for one day. He stayed and walked in our shoes for 33 years, without entitled privileges. He came in a humble barn. He died in a humiliating way. This is ultimate Love, that lays down his rights, lays down justice, lays down entitlement, and lowers himself to our level, for our sake.  If we're honest, we all esteem ourselves better than other people from time to time. Someone who's wronged us, someone who's disappointed us or offended us… Someone who we compare ourselves to, saying… we would never do that.  Can you picture a person in your life that fits into that category in your mind right now? This passage starts with these words - Think of yourselves the way Christ Jesus thought of himself. What can you do to humble yourself and reach out to that person and show them Love today?  Maybe it's a word of encouragement; maybe it's just letting them know that you were thinking about them, maybe say a prayer for them. Let's follow the example of Christ and let go of any entitlement or privilege, not just a thought but in deed. Lets pray: God of Love, Your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us. Love incarnate. Help us walk in that Love during the weeks of Advent, as we wait and prepare for his coming again. Thank You for Your unfailing, sacrificial and redeeming Love for me. Immanuel, God with us.

Zephaniah 3:17 NLT  For the Lord your God is living among you.     He is a mighty savior.  He will take delight in you with gladness.     With his love, he will calm all your fears.[a]     He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”  This prophecy talks about what came to be, what actually, historically happened. It is undisputed by atheists and believers alike… Jesus was born in Bethlehem. It's easy to miss the significance of words spoken thousands of years before the facts that actually came to be. Jesus was a living, breathing human, just like you and me. God becomes flesh. God living among us.   This passage is a prophecy, a promise, and a reality.  When was the last time you felt like anyone delighted in you, was full of gladness just because you were here?   That is how your God, who is with you, feels about you.  What is something that you're afraid of right now?  This passage says with His Love he will calm your fears. It doesn't say that your fears will be gone entirely, it says because He is with you, your fears will be calmed.   Your Father will rejoice over you with joyful songs. This season is full of happy songs; next time you hear one, think about the joy it represents and imagine this is how you make God feel, happy. He rejoices over you with happy songs.  Let's pray: God of Love, Your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us. Love incarnate. Help us walk in that love during the weeks of Advent, as we wait and prepare for his coming again. Thank You for Your unfailing, sacrificial and redeeming Love for me. Immanuel, God with us.

Week 2 of our Christmas series "The Joy of Christmas". This week we look at the Peace of God during what could be a very chaotic, emotional, and overwhelming season if we allow it. God came to bring peace so we could live out His Love to the world.

To Teach them what the Bible says about them and who they have been made to be in the promises of God's Word. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. Isaiah 49:13-16 (MESSAGE) Heavens, raise the roof! Earth, wake the dead!     Mountains, send up cheers!  God has comforted his people.     He has tenderly nursed his beaten-up, beaten-down people. But Zion said, “I don't get it. God has left me.     My Master has forgotten I even exist.” “Can a mother forget the infant at her breast,     walk away from the baby she bore?  But even if mothers forget,     I'd never forget you—never.  Look, I've written your names on the backs of my hands.     The walls you're rebuilding are never out of my sight.  Your builders are faster than your wreckers.     The demolition crews are gone for good.  This passage compares the love God has for us with the Love of a mother and her infant. There's little, if anything on earth, that compares to a mother and her intimate love for the baby she nurses. But this passage goes deeper and explains that the imperfect mother will fail at perfect love in some way or another. But not God, not ever. Maybe, this Christmas season, you might feel forgotten or overlooked. Or perhaps you know someone who you suspect might feel that way.   Can you picture right now your name written on the back of the hand of the God of the universe? He says that His Love for you will never fail and promises that the walls you are rebuilding are never out of his sight. Your builders are faster than your wreckers; the demolition crews are gone for good.   Because of our Father's love for us — sending his Son whose birth we celebrate— it says those things that work against us are slower than the one that builds in us. The demolition crews, the false love that this world represents, are gone for good because of the perfect Love born in  Bethlehem, from heaven above is here. This Love that says— I'd never forget you—never.  Lets pray: God of Love, Your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us. Love incarnate. Help us walk in that Love during the weeks of Advent, as we wait and prepare for his coming again. Thank  You for Your unfailing, sacrificial and redeeming Love for me. Immanuel, God with us.

To Teach them what the Bible says about them and who they have been made to be in the promises of God's Word. This changed my life years ago and completely transformed me from a person full of doubt, fear and unbelief to a strong confident Christian that knows I can do anything through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. To Teach them what the Bible says about them and who they have been made to be in the promises of God's Word. This changed my life years ago and completely transformed me from a person full of doubt, fear and unbelief to a strong confident Christian that knows I can do anything through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. Why should we teach them they are powerless, when God holds out His power and His Love, and bids them take what is already theirs? The mind that is made willing to accept God's gifts has been restored to spirit, and extends its freedom and its joy, as is the Will of God united with its own. The Self Which God created cannot sin, and therefore cannot suffer. Let us choose today that He be our Identity, and thus escape forever from all things the dream of fear appears to offer us.Father, Your Son can not be hurt. And if we think we suffer, we but fail to know our one Identity we share with You.
