What's up ladies and gents. Welcome to the ELK HUNT podcast! This is Cody Rich, if you are new here this podcast feed is a place for all of the Elk hunting interviews I have done over the last 6 or 7 years. This will eventually be one of the largest collections of elk hunting podcast and interviews ever compiled, which is pretty cool and I would love your guys help getting it out there to the world. To do that just leave a 5 star review and maybe tell a friend about it. Much appreciated, and enjoy! Hey If you want to be a good elk hunter there is one thing that I have noticed that every great hunter I have interviewed does that almost every new elk hunter does not. It's having a system. In my own quest to be a better hunter I sent out to learn from all the best hunters out there and the one thing they all have is a system that took them years to develop. Elk Hunt 201 Course

In this episode, Ryan sits down with hunter, world-traveler, and Manager of Marketing and PR for Huntin' Fool magazine Jessica Byers. Jessica grew up in Temple, TX as one of 3 girls who all loved the outdoors and hunting with their Dad. Hunting and fishing has always been a constant in her life and not long after graduating from Texas A&M (we won't hold it against her) she made it a career by traveling the world in pursuit of epic hunts and writing about it all. She now resides in Utah, where Huntin' Fool HQ is, and continues to hunt a variety of species all over the country. Ryan and Jessica discuss how hunting has impacted their lives and lessons learned while preparing for and participating in rigorous hunts.

Prepare yourselves for an exciting episode! We were extremely fortunate to catch Jessica Byers @followherarrow and Rihana Cary @rihanacary together at the same time during and extremely busy weekend for them at the Total Archery Challenge held at the Snowbird Ski Resort in SLC, UT. They are fresh off their trip to Australia and New Zealand and it was so great to hear their stories of the hunts they did and feel the emotion as they relived their success and challenges of hunting in unforgiving terrain. Statements such as " I thought we were going to die" and " I couldn't have done it without you" were spoken and felt as we sat and talked. It became plainly obvious very quickly that these two women have a fierce determination to succeed and a undying love for the outdoors. They definitely possess the warrior spirit and are perfect ambassadors for women in the hunting world. Thanks again to Jessica and Rihana for being so gracious and we can't wait to do it again. Hello everyone, welcome to the show. Today’s podcast is an episode I recorded with Rihanna Cary, Jessica and Braxton Byers, and my lovely cohost Kimmi Greentree. The Byers and Rihanna were down not to long ago to join me in Australia in pursuit of some of the hunting that I do on a regular basis. I thoroughly enjoyed hunting with this group of people, and am so thankful for the success that we had and how I was able to get to know each of them on a deeper level. In this episode we spend most of the time talking about Rihanna and Jessica’s testimony, particularly how the were lead into a life of hunting and a career in the hunting industry. This discussion lead us to talk about the perspectives that non-hunters have, and the general amount of knowledge that is lacked by society when it comes to what it means to be a hunter and a meat eater. This episode is made possible by Maven Optics. I believe that Maven makes a phenomenal product for a fraction of the price of comparable companies. They are also one of the few companies that does fully customized optics, and are one of the few that have a rental program for you to try before you buy. I would definitely recommend renting a pair for your next trip, I know that you will be impressed. Thank you all for tuning in.
Join us as we talk to the lovely and talented Jessica Byers from Follow Her Arrow.
