Join Hunt Advisors, Austin Atkinson, Garth Jenson and Eric Bachofner as they dive into the major upcoming changes to Colorado's big game draw system, a shift that will impact every hunter looking to chase elk, deer, and other prized species in the state. Here we unpack the sweeping changes that move Colorado from a preference-based draw to a 50-50 split, meaning half of the available tags will be allocated based on preference points, while the other half will be completely randomized. What does this mean for hunters who have been banking points for years? Should you burn them now or wait? And how will the new season date structures, non-resident allocations, and revamped tag reissue system affect your strategy going forward? We also break down the new preference point fee system, the elimination of Colorado's hybrid draw, and the implications of the state's once-in-a-lifetime rule for moose, sheep, and mountain goat. With these game-changing regulations taking full effect in 2028, now is the time to plan ahead. Whether you're a seasoned hunter or just starting out, this episode is a must-listen to help you navigate the evolving landscape of Colorado hunting. It is calibrated in f/stops and is generally written as numbers such as 1.4, 2, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, and 16. A smaller aperture value will also blur your background because it is shortening the distance that can be in focus. ISO - ISO is your camera's sensitivity to light as it pertains to either film or a digital sensor. A lower ISO value means less sensitivity to light, while a higher ISO means more sensitivity. Shutter Speed - Shutter speed is the speed at which the shutter of the camera closes. A fast shutter speed creates a shorter exposure — the amount of light the camera takes in — and a slow shutter speed gives the photographer a longer exposure. A slower shutter speed will also make a moving object appear blurry. Prime - A lens that has no zoom range. They are often sharper, lower aperture (more light, smooth blurry background), are cheaper, and lighter.
