Today's guest knows all to well the risks of Podcasting with Famous Footballers yet here he is, It's Kate Sheahan's Dad, the Brilliant Mike Sheahan. We got him in to chat the Dunstall V Lockett V Buddy conversation that has started to bubble and almost got cancelled about 20 mins in! Mike mentioned that he first gained confidence in his opinion and voice back when he was only 17 and gave us his thoughts today on "New age" coaching, the future of Dimma and Hinkley and the not so pleasant experience of being in a Malthouse or Clarko Presser! Seeing as we had a former Hall of Fame selector of 12 years in the room, Ralphy went in to bat for our man Dane. We got insight & answers. Richmond’s podcast phenomenon ‘Talking Tigers’ farewells a fantastic year in grand style with a show so jam-packed with highlights it could quite easily have been spread out over at least a couple of episodes.Ruminate over this for a fabulous final show of 2019 . . .The Tigers’ recruiting manager Matthew Clarke provides TT listeners with an excellent insight into the Club’s talented, young recruits from the recent AFL national draft.Author Konrad Marshall talks about his latest Richmond premiership book, ‘Stronger and Bolder’, the superb sequel to 2017’s ‘Yellow and Black: A season with Richmond’.And Tigers AFLW boss Kate Sheahan gives an update on how the women’s team is tracking in preparation for its debut season in the competition. There’s plenty more to enlighten, entertain and enthral Yellow and Black barrackers in this episode, including a tribute to 1967 premiership hero and great Club stalwart Paddy Guinane, some sweet and sour for ‘The Chief’, and a snapshot of what’s in store on TT next year.
Not many people can say they have had had a football journey like Tom Hunter. Richmond's inaugural AFLW and VFLW coach has had his fair share of ups with a playing premiership with the Calder Cannons, a coaching premiership with East Keilor, and getting picked up by Collingwood in the 2010 rookie draft. But nothing prepared Tom for a career ending neck injury that not only affected his chance to live out his VFL dream, it changed the direction his life would go in. Host Chris Pepper chats with Tom about his time at Collingwood, Mick Malthouse, how he transitioned from a player to a coach, how he got to Richmond, the influence Craig McRae and Kate Sheahan have had on him, Neil Balme, Dimma, and, much more. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lace-out/message
