Recap of the game.
On Christmas Eve...Eve, I had the opportunity to do a Zoom call with my good friend Dave Townsend. Figuring that we would end up talking about gaming stuff, I asked him if it would be OK to just record the conversation and put it out there as a oneshot for This Ol' Dungeon; just in case there was someone out there that wanted a little company. He was cool with it. In this conversation between friends, we talk about gaming and the holidays, games we played with our siblings and children, 3D printing, the advent of the resin printer, and a bit more. So come hang with us for a conversation... If you would like to see Dave's amazing webstore, you can find it here: Games with Dave the RPG Store For his awesome collection of video interviews with a who's-who of RPG legends, check out his YouTube channel: Games with Dave the Youtube Channel

Monday afternoon means a new episode of the Real Life Podcast is ready to kick off your week and help you navigate the Christmas break. On today's show, the boys discussed Leon Draisaitl's fantastic season, NFL quarterback gifts, and much more. With only Baggedmilk and Tyler available to record, the boys started the Monday episode with some Oilers talk. Starting with Leon Draisaitl's commitment to defence, it's been wonderful to watch our German superstar elevating his game at a time when the team needed him. While we've seen him play more of a two-way style in the playoffs, having him do it during the early days of the regular season has been fantastic. Changing gears, the conversation shifted to some of the gifts NFL quarterbacks are giving their offensive linemen as gifts, and what we've learned is that those dudes are that they have no problem spending cash on the big men who protect them. Whether it's giving the O-line a new car, expensive tequila, or explaining that they can't all get guns, it's fascinating to see the kind of money that flies around at Christmas. Getting back on the ice, Baggedmilk and Tyler spent some time talking about the father and son who got into a fight with each other at a beer league game. It prompted the boys to wonder how they would fare against their own dads if push came to shove. As you'll hear, neither of them thinks they'd have any chance against their dads on flat ground but could have a chance to win that fight on ice. Finally, Tyler and Baggedmilk wrapped up the podcast with some more hockey talk as they looked around the league and tried to figure out why some of the bad teams aren't better. Why do the Buffalo Sabres always suck? Is Steve Yzerman as good of a general manager as people expected? All the fellas know for sure is that there are a lot of stinky teams out there, and knowing that gives Baggedmilk comfort.

Hey everyone! We're back after a brief hiatus! Tune in this week to maybe sort out what holiday The Nightmare Before Christmas belongs to, get some news from the world of women's sports, and anime stuff!
Back in the saddle again after a nice holiday break. Refreshed and ready to ignore the three weeks of matches and focus on Week 20. The topsy-turvy table shake up from Pre-Christmas to New Year's Day was something to behold. Although we can be assured that the return of KDB, Erling, and Pep's impeccable second half form might leave everyone in the dust, we can at least enjoy the leap-frogging we're witnessing on a weekly basis for the time being. Only one Red card to mention during the holiday but plenty of goals! Gordon questions his love for Cole Palmer and Kelly brings him back down to earth by reminding him that he hates everyone who plays for blue teams. Come rejoin the fun and help us kick off 2024! Cheers!
Episode 342 - Seasons Beatings Well this is embarrassing. What you're about to listen to was supposed to be our PRE-Christmas episode, but it looks like its going to be the ONLY Christmas episode this year. I'd certainly say that qualifies as an acceptable excuse. See you next year! Follow us! There are only a handful of people out there that have the experience, credibility and gravitas to speak with authority when it comes to subjects like NATO, Putin, Gaza. They're high level issues and complex systems that require decades of study and thought to truly comprehend. And so when you get a chance to hear from one of them like you did last week with General Barry McCaffrey you jump at it. When you get a chance to talk with another one a week later… you better bet we're jumping again. Former CENTCOM Commander and Director of the CIA and the best selling author of Conflict, General David Petraeus joins host Paul Rieckhoff (@PaulRieckhoff) for a look at the global threatscape and what the future holds, here at home, and for the many hotspots around the world. From Ukraine to Gaza to Taiwan there is tension at scale few of us have experienced in our lifetime. But there's also reason for hope and optimism. Other shows tell you what happened. Independent Americans is focused on what it means and what comes next. And as we head into what is almost certainly going to be one of the most pivotal years of our lives, you're going to want to be prepared. Posted12/18/23This week the COW boys are airing their pre-Christmas Christmas show.. Along with some fun and lively conversation on the topic, you'll also hear some great music from Brenn Hill (Christmas in the Bunkhouse), Suzy Bogguss (If We Make it Through December), Bob Rivers Comedy Corp (The Chimney Song), and R.W Hampton and Mary Kaye (Baby It's Cold Outside). There is also some great cowboy poetry this week from Yvonne Hollenbeck (The Best Gift I've Had in Years). We'll have the ever popular Dick's Pick (Santa Got Lost in Texas), Cowpoke Poetry, and a whole bunch of goofin' off too!
The questions may not be festive, but they're important, and Don answers them: How should assets be allocated across different types of accounts? What happens to the money in a 529 plan if the custodian needs to withdraw some? How should a young adult invest money from an inherited IRA? Can brokers' cash management accounts replace traditional bank accounts? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Learn how to structure holiday promotions, from timing (Black Friday, pre-Christmas, and post-New Year's), types of incentives and discounts you might offer, and the cyclical nature of the fitness business. How to Structure Holiday Promotions: Black Friday & Pre-Christmas The lead up to Thanksgiving and Christmas is a time people spend more money. Because you believe in your product or service, and in the case of fitness your service is clearly helping improve your clients' quality of life, it is better they spend money on your service than something they don't truly need. This is a great time to offer things such as annual subscriptions, gift subscriptions or gift cards, and limited-time or urgent sign-ups (e.g. 5 spots at a reduced rate). People are looking to spend money and give gifts, so encourage them to spend money on physical fitness and quality of life. Also, avoid those times you'll likely be drowned out. You should likely have your promotions ready early the week of Thanksgiving. Pre-Christmas sales need to be out after Thanksgiving. Black Friday, and that entire weekend of American Thanksgiving, is a weekend where your ads will be drowned out and your potential clients will be inundated with offers. Deliver your promotions (ideally) before or (less ideally) after that. You will see sales dry up around a week before Christmas. This calls for a change in strategy. How to Structure Holiday Promotions: Post-Christmas and New Years' People tend to find themselves less fit and having gained weight after New Years', but they tend to have less money to spend. Now is the time to make signing up as frictionless and painless as possible. You might consider offering the first month free or some other type of free opportunity where you can deliver value and have them see how their life could be better with your service. This is also a great time for referrals, as clients can secure free or reduced coaching as they bring their friends or family to enjoy what they have enjoyed and found value in. Another time people are more fitness-minded is mid-to-late-Spring, when people begin to think about wearing swim suits and how they'll look with the less clothes people tend to wear in the summer. How to structure holiday promotions? Consider the timing, what people are looking for, and likely hurdles. This podcast is brought to you by TurnKey Coach.
