The pace of living is accelerating. I often feel like things are happening too quickly to process ... the reels are going too fast, the scrolls have too many colors, the information feed feels like a flood. I just can't process it all! Do you feel the same way? If so you need this conversation as much as I did. Carl Honoré is the grandfather of the "slow movement" — a Canadian born, UK-based author, journalist, and popular TED speaker whose first book, the 2004 long-running bestseller 'In Praise of Slowness', sparked a global conversation about time, speed, and how we live. What's happened since 2004? Life has gotten even faster! Which makes his ideas and insights even more valuable. I love Carl's work so much I've read 'In Praise of Slowness' three times and enjoyed his tangential books on parenting in an era of hyper pressure ('Under Pressure') and making the most of our longer lives ('Bolder'). Carl is a warm, sagacious soul who oozes kindness and wisdom and in this conversation we talk about the best way to cook risotto, why you should read Orwell to your kids even in their 20s, how social media is changing travel, the benefits of learning new languages, the meaning of the phrase "tempo giusto", mindful ways to slow down our busy lives, and, of course, his 3 most formative books... Let's flip the page to Chapter 153 now...
Jesus shares the gospel, good news of a new king who saved not politically, but spiritually in a time of great diversity and divide. I personally like his approach. He is willing to, as they say, “mix it up” with this woman. He draws her in to the real issue and goes after what's holding her back. Her response is astounding. She's all in. This is the River Church. Mix it up, listen, talk, show respect, be concerned for others. And, that's a big and, lead people to Jesus through a life changing encounter with the truth of God's word. WOW. Bolder and equally truth filled.

The enemy may try to silence the church, but God's people cannot be quieted. In this message, Pastor Corey Erman declares that opposition only fuels greater boldness to preach the Gospel. It's a new OHL season full of promise, unless you're dumb enough to try and predict the finishing order of all ten teams in the Eastern Conference. Why should you do that, though, when Dan and Farwell are plenty dumb enough to do it for you? The guys give it the ol' college try in predicting this year's Eastern Conference and, speaking of college, that NCAA rule change is still making waves. Plus, there's a potential that more players will move to the AHL early, and a guarantee that either Kitchener or Guelph will host the 2027 Memorial Cup (the guys think they know which market will win the bid). We've also got rule changes aplenty, and plenty of complaints about the OHL's new jersey sponsor (just not from Farwell). All in all, plenty to fill your ears after a summer away. Hope your break was great! Farwell and Dan are looking forward to bringing you another season of OHL analysis, bad takes, and information from around the league. The OHL Podcast is supported by Draft Kings Sportsbook.
It's a new beginning for the podcast. Amy jumps right in by addressing the elephant in the room: going solo after 208 episodes with Lucy. She reassures listeners that The Fearless Foodie Podcast is an evolution, not a departure—still focused on real experiences, honest answers, and practical help for everyone trying to thrive in the relentless (but brilliant) world of food and retail.Amy gets real about the tough parts of food industry life: the toxic patches, the wobbly moments, the burnout she once suffered, and the loneliness that can creep in. But she doesn't stop at sharing her story—she's here to use her hindsight for your benefit, so you don't have to make all the same mistakes. Amy's fearless approach isn't about being shouty or never feeling scared; it's about finding your own quiet confidence, putting up boundaries, and daring to say the hard truths kindly.Looking ahead, Amy highlights what's coming: wider topics beyond just product development, with leadership tools, cross-functional advice, and guest experts including Bethan Grylls (with her Bite Sized Bulletin on industry news) and Danny Franklin (offering wisdom from a straight-talking commercial director). Expect candid chats on what “being authentic” really means (spoiler: it's not about oversharing), the permission to ask for help, and balancing big careers with being human.Amy leaves you the listeners with three practical, feel-braver challenges to try in the week ahead. She encourages everyone to connect, speak up (even if your voice is shaking), and be part of a Fearless Foodies movement for change—one honest conversation at a time.Timestamps00:00 – Amy introduces the new solo direction, her mission for the podcast, and the values driving Fearless Foodie.03:05 – Reflections on burnout, vulnerability, and why she's passionate about changing the industry culture.04:48 – Behind-the-scenes: guest announcement, fresh episode formats, and broadening the conversation beyond product development.07:36 – Debunking “fearlessness”—it's not about being loud or perfect, but about resilience and doing it your way.10:06 – Amy's personal experience with severe burnout, what it taught her, and how it motivates her coaching and podcasting.13:10 – Setting out the podcast's goals: real talk, practical takeaways, and a safe community for food professionals.15:19 – Wrapping up with three bold challenges for listeners to try this week, and a call for feedback on what you want from coming episodes.Links and Resources:Website Link: https://fearlessfoodies.co.ukFB Link: https://www.facebook.com/thefearlessfoodiepodLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/thefearlessfoodiepodYou can follow us here on Instagram: @thefearlessfoodiepodFind Amy on Instagram or LinkedIn for further support with industry coaching and facilitation.Microsearch Laboratories sponsor the Fearless Foodie Podcast https://micro-search.co.uk/KEYWORDS:Foodconsultant, foodindustrycoach, foodindustry

YOU - The Master Entrepreneur - A Guide to True Greatness with Stan Hustad
The world is full of people right now trying to tell you that they have the secret to success. I'm not one of them. No matter how good an idea you might have to remember that nothing works all the time and there's something wrong with everything. But for your thought and consideration let me speakand seek to explain what I have learned about what I call Zone-Based lLving and how being in the right zone in the right time will be very helpful to you as you deal with what is a rather rugged and challenging way of life right now in which most people are quite tired and don't know what to do. Maybe this 15 minutes might be helpful as a start to get back on track and have a sense of energy in the midst of difficult times. And now let's see what the STOSH has to say about the program. Living in the Zones: How I've Learned to Perform, Transform, and Flourish at Every Stage of Life By Stan Hustad If you're going to survive—better yet, thrive—in today's uncertain, noisy, and sometimes nasty world, you need more than a goal or a five-year plan. You need zones. That's right—zone-based living is not just a quirky phrase I came up with; it's a powerful way to understand where you are in life, what your role is, and how to perform at your best, no matter what stage you're in. This week on the program, I dove deep into the idea that living well in today's complex world demands that we know where we are—not just physically or emotionally, but spiritually and professionally too. These five "zones" I've discovered over years of coaching, teaching, performing, and living... well, they're not only helpful—they're essential. So allow me to take you on a little journey through the five zones of life, with just enough wisdom, wit, and warning to maybe get you thinking, “Hey, I need to figure out what zone I'm in—and how to get to the next one.” The Five Zones of Life 1. The Curiosity Zone This is where we start, where we play, and where we ask a thousand questions an hour. Most of us lose it by the time we “grow up,” but here's the big idea: what if everything you thought you knew... was wrong? Could you live with that possibility? The Curiosity Zone isn't just for kids. It's for entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, and anyone who refuses to accept the world as it is. Stay curious, my friends. 2. The Impact Zone Now you're in adulthood. You're responsible. You're no longer just preparing—you're performing. This is where you grow your audience, build influence, and—yes—make a dent in the universe. It's not enough to exist. You've got to matter. And this is where our modern-day Dale Carnegies are born. Or better yet, reborn. 3. The Transformation Zone Congratulations—you've made an impact! But now it's time to do something bigger. Better. Bolder. This zone isn't about tweaking your brand or reorganizing your sock drawer. It's about radical reinvention. You're not changing because you have to. You're transforming because you can. This is the zone where ideas meet courage. 4. The Generosity Zone If you've made it here, you've succeeded. But the question is, who else has? If your success doesn't lift others, you've missed the point. Generosity isn't just about money—it's about time, attention, mentorship, kindness. Civilizations crumble without generosity. So if you're still hoarding, you're still stuck. 5. The Encore Zone Here's where I live. You don't retire—you re-fire. You've got wisdom, experience, and one more show to give. In fact, some of your best work might still be ahead. (Just ask Michelangelo, who created masterpieces into his 80s.) This zone is about finishing well, leaving a legacy, and making sure the world is just a little better because you were here. Memorable Takeaways - “What zone are you in? And what zone do you need to grow into?” - “You're not just in the marketplace. You are the marketplace.” - “Curiosity didn't kill the cat—it built the airplane, wrote the song, and launched the podcast.” - “Success without generosity is just ego with a good haircut.” - “You're on sale every day. Better learn how to sell you.” Remember This - Curiosity keeps you young. - Impact makes you relevant. - Transformation makes you necessary. - Generosity makes you unforgettable. - Encore makes you eternal. A Call to Action So where are you today? Soul tired? A little lost in the cultural noise? Wondering if you've still got it? Let me tell you something: you do. You absolutely do. You just need a map. And that's what the zone model can be—a compass for your calling, your career, and your contribution. If this message resonates with you, reach out. I'm here for coaching, conversation, counsel, or just a cup of encouragement. Let's figure out your zone—and how to get to the next one. And remember: in a world gone sideways, those who live with purpose and perform with love will always rise. All the best and blessings to you. And as always—live well, finish well, and don't forget to flourish. Let's talk: StanEdWittRadio.net

AP's Lisa Dwyer reports on a new video of the fiery attack in Bolder that injured at least 12 people.
Keeping with the theme of today's Harrumph Society newsletter - Stigall says there's no reason for Republicans not to be on offense. The White House has been on a full-court press to spread the good news taking place from Pittsburgh and the US Steel/Nippon Steel merger to the "big, beautiful bill" making its way through congress, and promoting the tariff fight they still very much believe in and are committing to find ways around any court obstruction. Plus, with Elon's official exit, they are still committed to clawing back DOGE cuts through what's called "rescission." Democrats continue to flounder as their polling continues to collapse and another pro-Hamas lunatic attacks a pro-Israel march in Bolder, Colorado. Guy Ciarrocchi and Erin Maguire break it all down. And Ukraine attacks Russia via drone deep within their borders. Col. Kurt Schlichter says it should be a lesson to the United States. -For more info visit the official website: https://chrisstigall.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/chrisstigallshow/Twitter: https://twitter.com/ChrisStigallFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/chris.stigall/Listen on Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/StigallPodListen on Apple Podcasts: https://bit.ly/StigallShow -Help protect your wealth with real, physical gold and silver. Andrew Walworth, Tom Bevan and Carl Cannon discuss the state of ceasefire negotiations in the Ukraine War, and whether the U.S. Senate will force the imposition of stronger tariffs against Moscow. They also talk about Bolder, Colorado where the man who's suspected of a terrorist attack against demonstrators advocating for the release of Jewish hostages - is being charged with a federal hate crime. Then, they discuss the Polish presidential election where Trump's preferred candidate won a narrow victory on Sunday, and Kamala Harris skipping the California Democratic Convention this weekend and instead sending a three-minute video. Next, RCP White House correspondent Phil Wegmann talks to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R.- IA) about efforts to reform the FBI, allegations of government weaponization by Donald Trump, and the Federalist Society's track record on judicial recommendations. And lastly, Andrew talks with defense expert Thom Shanker of George Washington University about the strategic significance of Ukraine's drone attack on Russian airfields, and why the Pentagon is paying attention.
Our show opens with two separate, but inter-related stories. The first is another terror attack on Jews in our country, this time in Bolder, Colorado. A man screaming to “Free Palestine” lit several Jews on fire who had been gathering weekly in support of the hostages still held by Hamas. At the same time, it was reported that several Palestinians were killed trying to get food. In both cases, the Legacy/mainstream media was pro-terrorist. Independent New Media journalist Erin Moran specifically went after Reuters for putting out another fantastical piece of anti-Israeli propaganda. The Media is also confused about why fentanyl drug seizures are at “mysterious” lows along our US-Mexico border. It's almost like these media people don't have functioning brains. This leads us to the Sunday news shows, where we get to demonstrate how dumb and vacuous they are. In fact, we keep waiting for all of the pieces about Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) for his Seig Heil salute, given it was exactly the same as what Elon Musk did after Trump's inauguration. We close with the eruption of Mount Etna and remind the audience just how much carbon emission Mother Nature decided to spew into the skies. It's a chance for me to remind the audience that man-made climate change is one of the greatest hoaxes ever perpetrated on mankind. Some people give no charity at all. But of Americans who do, the average family donation is 2-3% per year. This program examines how people arrive at the amount of their charitable contributions, where the money is contributed to, and what holds donors back from giving more, especially if they could afford to without hardship. She was the main BBC presenter in Lviv in Western Ukraine and is now one of the chief presenters of BBC news at 6 and BBC news at 10. Brought up in Birmingham, as a teenager Reeta went to school in Calcutta before returning to the UK to go to university. She joined the BBC in 1992 where she started on Radio One Newsbeat and presented news bulletins for the legendary Radio 2 DJ Steve Wright in the Afternoon. (Just talk amongst yourself kids!) Heading into 50 she took an a whole new role and at 60 she's done it again, only this time she's written a book, a novel, Finding Belle, that takes us from Mombassa to Milton Keynes to Calcutta. Reeta (and the builders next door!) joined me to talk about family, belonging, growing up the only brown girl in the class and being a lifelong good girl. We also discussed the importance of failure, learning to become a yes person, in the best possible way, getting bolder as she gets older and why she has no plans to be in the newsroom at 70. * You can buy all the books mentioned in this podcast at The Shift bookshop on Bookshop.org, including Finding Belle by Reeta Chakrabarti as well as the book that inspired this podcast, The Shift: how I lost and found myself after 40 - and you can too, by me. * If you enjoyed this episode and you fancy buying me a coffee, pop over to my page on buymeacoffee.com. • And if you'd like to support the work that goes into making this podcast and get a weekly newsletter plus loads more content including exclusive transcripts of the podcast, why not join The Shift community, come and have a look around at www.theshiftwithsambaker.substack.com • The Shift (on life after 40) with Sam Baker is created and hosted by Sam Baker and edited by Juliette Nicholls at Pineapple Production. As most of you who have been listening to this podcast for a while already know, in 2023, my team and I launched A Bolder Way Forward as an initiative within the Utah Women & Leadership Project. The mission of a BWF is to ensure that more girls, women, and their families thrive. In this episode I do a quick overview of BWF and then provide a few updates and insights on where we are at and some current needs that we have. As background, national and statewide studies continue to show that women and girls in Utah are not thriving in critical areas. Year after year, Utah continues to have high levels of domestic violence, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and gender-based discrimination, while also ranking as the worst state for women's equality and having low levels of women's leadership representation in nearly all domains, including politics and business. Although the needle has moved slightly in a few areas, with its current trajectory it will take three or four decades to make notable progress. This is why Icontinue to say “It is time for Utah to embrace A Bolder Way Forward (BWF).” I absolutely feel called to this work so I've combined one of my life callings with some paid work and a lot of community service! We all serve in different ways. Also, learn more at www.abolderwayforward.org!
