In Episode 8 Adam welcomes Kenton Carruth onto the show. Kenton’s one of the most laid back but knowledgeable guys in the apparel business today. He and his business partner Scott Robinson co-founded First Lite in 2007 and were the first guys to see the potential of merino wool in the hunting apparel space. Since then, they have quietly but confidently built out an incredible apparel line-up from base layers to bombproof outerwear, all from small town Idaho where they have epic hunting, fishing and snowsports out their backdoor. We get into a variety of topics, from the truth about waterproof membranes, to the company’s conservation efforts as well as the development process behind their Fusion pattern and the exciting additions to their 2016 line-up. Kenton’s a great guy that always shoots straight, figuratively that is, and we have a great time digging in on all things First Lite. More than just covering new products, they discuss the technical details of fabrics and features that will help you choose the best clothing for your hunting needs. What makes merino so great? How can it be better? Most companies market their outerwear as "waterproof" and "breathable", but can those attributes be tested and independently rated?
