I'M THE VILLAIN
90. The Construction Episode: What It's Like Being a Woman in Construction

I'M THE VILLAIN

2 weeks ago, we got to talk to Sal, an apprentice training to be a plumber, and now we get to talk about what it's like being a woman in construction. We sit down with Taylor Mount, the co-host of the Honey and Heart podcast, who works in construction management and is one of only 4 women on her job site in Sacramento. Nationwide, only about 9% of construction workers are women, which also includes administrative roles and HR, so there's even fewer women actually working on the job sites. We talk through the political elements of construction as well: Taylor graduated school in 2016, the year when Trump got elected, and started work at one of the biggest construction companies in America. That company at the time, was asked whether it would build The Wall. And there's a lot of other political construction projects as well, like the Dakota Access Pipeline, and even just everyday construction decisions, like whether to work on a luxury apartment or affordable housing. The WAG Podcast
How Suffering Could Signal Future Success: Interviewing WAG’s Head of Operations, Taylor Lumpp

The WAG Podcast

This episode is the first in a series where Michael Cazayoux interviews WAG staff members and coaches.  In this episode, he interviews Taylor Lumpp, our Head of Operations and one of our original coaches. She’s a 64 kg Olympic weightlifter, a multi-time national medalist, and she even won the Arnold Classic this year. Professionally, Taylor was an FBI agent for 4 years, starting at age 19 (you won’t want to miss hearing about this part of her story!). In this episode, we learn about: How Taylor found WAG and why she wanted to join What WAG was like in those early days (and how things have changed) What it was like being coached by (and developing a friendship with) Adee How her relationship with food has evolved and improved What she’s learned after working with hundreds (possibly thousands!) of clients Taylor believes that a person’s success on a nutrition plan can be attributed, in large part, to the degree of suffering they’re experiencing. Check out the episode to hear her explain why! We would love to hear from you!
