Welcome to the second "On-Week" episode of our show! New To You Show is getting rolling, we have a twitter @newtoyoushow where we'll let you know new episodes are up, and pass along any news related to our show.  Segment 1: The Stars My Destination (book) - or Tiger, Tiger John Holt (@lordjoho) recommends the 1950's science fiction novel from New York wrtier Alfred Bester. One of the two great novels by Bester from this time period. No movie adaptions as of yet, the audiobook is findable but not in print, but they've made a grapic novel (which is sadly now out of print!) You can find this book on Amazon in Kindle and Trade Paperback format. Segment 2: Central Reservation (album) Mary Varn (npccomic.com) recommends a turn of the century album from a contemporary "folktronic" female singer-songwriter. Beth Orton's Central Reserveration was released in 1999.  A British musician, she collaborated with one of the Chemical Brothers on earlier albums, and with Ben Harper and Ben Watts on this album. You can find this album on Amazon, iTunes, Rdio, and Spotify, among others.  Segment 3: The Gods Must Be Crazy (film) Keith Vincent (earthlingkeith.tumblr.com) recommends a South African comedic film that saw surprising success worldwide upon its release in the 80's. Written, Directed, and Produced by James Uys, mathmetician teacher turned Justice of the Peace turned film maker, this is a refreshing take on filmmaking coming out of a period of gritty realism.  The Movie is available from on DVD and through iTunes.
