Die Rookies of the Year erzählen von ihrer Ausbildung, aus ihrem Jobleben und viel mehr. Wir gratulieren Benedikt Kobzina, der die Prüfung zum Steuerberater 2024 als Bester bestanden hat und David Roider, der als Rookie in der Wirtschaftsprüfung reüssiert hat. Die zwei Rookies sind aber bereits sehr erfahrene Branchenmitglieder. Benedikt Kobzina ist seit 2019 in der Kanzlei Schabetsberger Steuerberatung tätig und am Weg in die Geschäftsführung. Er ist seit März Lehrbeauftragter an der WU Wien, wo er aktuell sein Doktorat anstrebt. David Roider ist bereits seit 2020 Manager bei Ernst & Young (Assurance & Advisory), war vier Jahre Universitätsassistent und hat seit März einen Doktor in Sozial- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften (WU Wien). Im Gespräch mit KSW-Host Birgit Schaller zeigt sich, dass beide viel Begeisterung für ihren Beruf mitbringen. „Ich fühle mich richtig wohl in meinem Job“, sagt David Roider, „das Interesse an Wirtschaft war schon immer da“. Benedikt Kobzina geht es genauso und er ergänzt: „Ich erinnere mich an berufspraktische Tage an der AHS, da begeisterte mich ein Steuerberater, das war richtungsweisend.“ Beide geben im Podcast Tipps für die Fachprüfungen für Berufsanwärter:innen, die beide an der Kammer der Steuerberater:innen und Wirtschaftsprüfer:innen (KSW) absolviert haben: „Zeit nehmen, zahlt sich aus, immerhin ist alles, was man lernt im Berufsalltag relevant“, sagt Kobzina. Roider findet: „Jede Prüfung ist eine neue Herausforderung mit Bergen an Literatur, fokussiertes Arbeiten ist wichtig.“ Wir erfahren, welche sozialen Kompetenzen und persönlichen Interessen relevant sind im Job, wie der Arbeitsalltag tatsächlich aussieht, was die nächsten Schritte der beiden erfolgreichen Manager sind und auch wie die beiden ihre Freizeit am liebsten verbringen.

The official story was that convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester died in a South African prison fire on May 3, 2022, but the truth was far more shocking: he had faked his own death with a stolen corpse and easily walked out of a maximum security prison. Known as "The Facebook Rapist" for luring women with fake international modeling opportunities, Bester was serving a 30-year sentence for the rape and robbery of two women and the murder of his girlfriend, Nomfundo Tyhulu, in 2011. In this episode, we unravel the chaotic details of his escape and his life on the run: The Fake Death: An investigation into the cell fire and the burned remains raised immediate suspicion. The body used to stage his death was later confirmed to have died before the fire from blunt force trauma to the head, and DNA did not match Bester .  The Accomplice: Dr. Nandipha Magudumana (Dr. Nandi): Celebrity physician Dr. Nandi, who claimed to be Bester's customary law wife, was his essential partner in crime. She initially collected the body and was later spotted shopping with Bester, aiding his life as a fugitive. She is a glamorous doctor who had it all, but chose a criminal life as a "cold-blooded accomplice". Life as a Fugitive: Before his escape was confirmed, Bester was running multiple scam companies from prison. The Pretoria High Court has dismissed an urgent bid by Thabo Bester and Dr. Nandipha Magudumana to block the airing of Netflix's explosive documentary Beauty and the Bester. Judge Sulet Potterill ruled the application was not urgent and struck it off the roll, ordering both applicants to pay legal costs. The documentary, which delves into the alleged notorious prison escape and scandal surrounding the pair, will now go ahead as scheduled. Reacting to the judgement Attorney representing Thabo Bester Courage Morero say they are disappointed by the Pretoria High Court's decision to dismiss their urgent bid to halt Netflix's Beauty and the Bester documentary. The lawyer for Convicted murderer and rapist, Thabo Bester says his client will suffer prejudice, as streaming a new Netflix documentary will infringe on his right to a fair trial. Montag. Normalerweise der miesestes Tag der Woche. Aber dieser Montag wollte offenbar den Highscore knacken. Ich saß im „Karmaglück“, einem Laden, in dem die Laktoseintoleranz zum guten Ton gehört und der Barista aussah wie Jesus nach einem Praktikum bei Apple. Mir gegenüber: Uwe und Volker. Meine persönlichen Endgegner in Sachen „gelungenes Leben“. „Du musst da proaktiver werden“, hub Uwe an und nippte an seinem Matcha-Ingwer-Irgendwas. Er klang wie ein Kalenderspruch auf zwei Beinen. „Deine Grundhaltung entscheidet, mein Lieber.“ Volker, der in einem stillen Retreat in Berlin, „Reichstag“ oder so ähnlich, offenbar gelernt hatte, durch Nicken Weisheit zu simulieren, nickte. „Absolut. Alles eine Frage des Mindsets. Schulwahl, Beruf, Hobbys. Das ist wie Domino-Day. Jeder Stein muss richtig stehen.“ Ich dachte an meine Steine. Mein Abi: 3,4. Mein Job: T-Punkt-Salesman. Mein Hobby: die Fernbedienung finden. Mein Domino war eher ein Totalschaden auf der A1. „Nehmen wir die Liebe“, fuhr Uwe fort und legte seine Hand auf Volkers Unterarm, was mir kurz Angst machte. „Du findest nicht den richtigen Partner, du wirst zum richtigen Partner. Dann kommt der Rest von allein.“ Volker nickte wieder. Seine „beste Ehefrau von allen“ backt glutenfreies Brot und hat einen eigenen Töpfer-Account auf Insta. Meine letzte Freundin hat per WhatsApp Schluss gemacht, weil ich beim Tatort eingeschlafen bin. „Du musst Gelegenheiten ergreifen, mein Bester!“, predigte Uwe. „Mutig sein. Dir was gönnen!“ Er sah mich an, als wäre ich ein liegengebliebenes Testabo. „Wir fliegen nächstes Jahr nach Peru. Selbstfindung auf 4000 Metern. Muss man sich auch mal gönnen.“ Mein letztes „Gönnen“ war die große Tüte Chips statt der kleinen. „Es geht um Zufriedenheit“, schloss Volker sein Nick-Seminar ab. „Ruhe. Gelassenheit. Du darfst dir den Spaß nicht vermiesen lassen.“ In diesem Moment vibrierte mein Handy. Eine Push-Nachricht meines „Geiz ist geil“-Service: „MediaMarkt: 50 % auf alle Soundbars!“ Das war mein Notausgang. Mein Rettungs-Airbag. Mein Defibrillator. Ich sprang so schnell auf, dass Jesus an der Kaffeemaschine zusammenzuckte. „Sorry, Jungs, absoluter Notfall! Ich muss los!“ Uwe und Volker starrten mich an. „Was ist denn passiert?“ „Soundbar!“, presste ich hervor. „Ganz dringender Soundbar-Vorfall. Ich muss... die Gelegenheit ergreifen. Mutig sein!“ Ich knallte einen Zwanziger auf den Tisch und rannte aus dem Laden. Während ich Richtung Straßenbahn sprintete, dachte ich nur eins: Gelassenheit, ihr Pfeifen? Könnt ihr haben. Ich gönn mir jetzt erst mal richtig phätten Surround-Sound für meine Zwei-Zimmer-Wohnung. Das ist MEINE Art von positivem Mindset. Rock on!
