This week we are joined by Xavier Peich. Xavier is the co-founder and CEO of SmartHalo, a connected device that helps you cycle smarter. He created the company with the hope to change cities and make them greener and more human. In this talk, Xavier recalls the beginnings of Smarthalo which he launched with only 25 dollars. At first, the idea was to provide navigation for cyclists and then enable them to track down a stolen bicycle. This company has launched not one, but two successful Kickstarter campaigns for SmartHalo and SmartHalo 2. Their first project launched on Kickstarter in 2015 and raised CA$ 538,723 from more than 3,000 backers. This was an incredible crowdfunding success. Then, they took everything they learned and applied this to their next launch for the SmartHalo 2, which ended up raising CA$ 1,699,530 from more than TEN THOUSAND backers.
