You may have heard the term 'Spiritual Warfare' once or twice, and wondered what that means. That outside of the natural, there is a supernatural battle taking place in the spirit. But how can us worshipping God be counted as warfare? This week Lead Ps. Miles Paludan explores how worshipping God is not only beneficial but necessary in the walk of Faith.
Worship is expressing love to God. Often however, we can differ in how we worship God. It might be in the car listening to music, at a church gathering, at a lifegroup. With our hands raised, kneeling, quietly contemplating; but how can we worship authentically no matter what environment we're in? This week Lead Pastor Miles Paludan begins our series "Heart of Worship" by exploring the biblical foundations of Worship within the Bible!
David Oldfield, our Worship and Creative Arts Pastor shares a message on the heart and worship. Matthew 26:55-5655 In that hour Jesus said to the crowd, “Am I leading a rebellion, that youhave come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in thetemple courts teaching, and you did not arrest me. 56 But this has all takenplace that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all thedisciples deserted him and fled.John 19:25-2625 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wifeof Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother there, andthe disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman, here isyour son,”A heart posture of worship is wanting to be NEAR Jesus. There are ALL KINDS OF THINGS that want our worship.SINGING is an outward expression of WHAT'S GOING ON IN OUR HEARTS.
Tory Mayo teaches from various passages.
There is such an awesome power in being able to experience the fullness of who God really is through the gateway of worship. In fact, it is through being able to worship Jesus Christ in both Spirit and in truth that makes this thought become more than some idea but rather a reality in our day to day lives. It is in our ability to worship that gives us the power through God to conquer sin and find true freedom; 2 Corinthians 3:17. The fact of knowing that the son of the living God who is Jesus Christ actually seeks worshippers to worship Him; John 4:23. Whether we know it or not we were designed by our creator God to worship from the beginning of our existence. Understanding that reality creates the opportunity for us to view true worship through the lens of Jesus Christ. In this series we will dive deep into the heart of worship and what that should look like in the life of God's people.
