Many parents feel overwhelmed with sadness when their child is diagnosed with autism. Often, that grief is connected with a sense of loss. In a fiduciary relationship, a person or entity acts on behalf of another person or people to manage assets. Key West police handcuffing 8-year-old boy. A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against three Monroe County School District employees sued over a 2018 incident in which Key West police officers tried to handcuff an 8-year-old boy at his elementary school after he was accused of punching a teacher. The use of functioning labels to describe an autistic's ability to function has been used for many years and is still used today. Functioning labels are predominantly used by non-autistic people to describe an autistic's ability to function in society, typically labeling them as either "high-functioning" or "low-functioning".
