「【注意】ハンディーファンも爆発の危険が？暑い夏に「リチウムイオン電池」火災事故急増…意外と知らない保管方法・捨て方」　ハンディーファンやモバイルバッテリーなど広く使われているリチウムイオン電池。コンパクトで充電できて何度も使えて便利な一方で、今トラブルが相次いでいます。26日の「ソレってどうなの？」は、「火災・爆発 小型電化製品捨て方は？」をテーマにお伝えします。26日の東京都心は真夏日を観測。街の人の手にはハンディーファンが握られていました。街の人は「暑いから信号待ちの時とかしてません？こうやって。夏になったら欠かせないもの」「ハンディーファンは絶対使う。子どもがうどんを食べるときの食事を冷やす用と、自分たちが涼む用で持ち歩いている。暑いのと、熱中症対策で持っておこうと」などと話しました。充電に欠かせないのがモバイルバッテリーです。リチウムイオン電池が使われることが多いですが、暑くなるこれからの時期、火災などの事故が急増するといいます。モバイルバッテリーを高温の車内に放置した時の再現映像を見ると、モバイルバッテリーは大きく膨らんで白い煙を吹き出すと、その後、炎に包まれてしまいました。また、地面に落とすなどしてハンディーファンのバッテリーが損傷すると破裂、その映像を街で見てもらうと、「これ（膨らんだもの）の寸前みたいなのが家にある。おお、怖い。もう開いているのが（家に）ある。何年も前から。たぶん暑かったのか、置いてあるところが。まさか燃えるとは思っていなかった。めっちゃ怖い」「危ない。家とかだったら大変になる。家にいないときや車の中だったら爆発したりすると思うので怖い」などといった声が聞かれました。NITE（製品評価技術基盤機構）は、リチウムイオン電池が使われる製品の事故のピークは6月から8月の気温が上昇する時期だとして、注意を呼びかけました。NITEによると、「リチウムイオンバッテリーはとてもデリケートな製品。熱と衝撃に弱い。この夏場、暑いところに放置しない。直射日光が当たるようなところに放置しない。
