「3歳未満の「やけど」「窒息・誤飲」8割が屋内で発生　在宅時間増える年末年始もボタン電池に注意」　テーブルに残されたボタン電池にスチーム式加湿器の吹き出し口。3歳未満の幼い子供のヒヤリ・ハットに、年末年始は要注意です。NITE（製品評価技術基盤機構）が25日公開したのは、3歳未満のやけど・おもちゃの事故映像です。スチーム式加湿機能付きの空気清浄機の運転中、子供が高温になった蒸気口に触れやけど。NITEによると、2020年から2024年までの5年間に報告のあった3歳未満の子供が製品事故に巻き込まれた事例は47件。そのうち8割は屋内で発生したケースです。子育てする中でヒヤリとした体験について街では「シールを口の中でモグモグやっていたことが1回あって、すごい怖かったです」「上の子の小っちゃいオモチャを下の子が口に入れちゃったりとか、同じ空間で遊んでいると危ないなと。一番、1～2歳が怖い。1～2歳はイヤイヤ期だし言葉も上手にしゃべれないので」などの声が聞かれました。つかまり立ちや一人歩きができるようになる3歳未満の時期に集中する傾向にあるというのが、やけどや窒息・誤飲などの屋内で発生する事故。中でも誤飲においてNITEが注意を呼び掛けているのがボタン電池です。例えば、テーブルの上にボタン電池を残したまま親が離れた場面。ほんのわずかな隙に子供の手が。ボタン電池を誤飲してしまうと放電によってアルカリが生成され食道や胃などの消化管を傷つけ、場合によっては接触部分に穴が開くなど重大な事故につながる恐れがあります。ボタン電池サイズのものの誤飲ヒヤリについては、街でも「たぶん100円玉サイズのオモチャで遊んでて、いつの間にか1ピースなくなってて。もしかして飲み込んだんじゃないかと。違うところからポロッと出てきて、やっぱり赤ちゃんに持たせるオモチャじゃなかったねって」という声も聞かれました。NITEは誤飲しやすいものを家庭で見分ける方法として、トイレットペーパーの芯を紹介。
