Can you believe it – we are 3 months into 2021! Let's take a pause to reflect and check in with your word of the year and any goals you've set for this year. This process of reflection and checking in is important to maintaining focus throughout the year. If you are just joining the podcast, head back to episode 001 when I discussed what a word of the year is and how it provides vision and structure to your year. In this episode, I share a recap of how I am doing with my word “commitment” and the areas I am struggling in. I also share another way to provide goals for your year in the 21 for 2021 approach. Hear some of the 21 items on my list and how I'm doing accomplishing them or have even changed some since the beginning of the year. If you don't have a word of the year or any items set for your year, you can start today! Right where you are, you can begin with a word and goals for the rest of the year! I am changing it up this week and providing a short meditation instead of a regular podcast show. There are many forms of meditation and it is not a one size fits all. In this episode, I will share the brief benefits of meditation and how anchoring to our breath can be a great meditation to begin with as our breath is our life source. The meditation begins at about 8:30. Enjoy! Please download for later or share with a friend! Thank you for being here and sharing in this space with me. 009 | Letting Go of Expectations

Have you had one of those weeks? The pressure you put on yourself continues to build up. Well friends, I am right there with you! We can be our own worst enemy and put incredible expectations on ourselves that are not necessary. That was how I felt this week so I know that this will resonate with you as well. Grab a cup of coffee or maybe even a cocktail and listen in as I share some of the expectations that I've held on myself in regard to my health, spirituality, relationships, and finances/career. I'm always a work in progress and definitely not perfect at this, although I provide you with the below simple tips to help reset your mind and LET GO of some of these pressures. 1. Be Aware & Stop - do not believe what you are feeling or thinking as you may be looking through a distorted lens. Being aware that you are holding yourself to unnecessary expectations allows you to pause the brain to train it for something better. 2. Breathe. Be still with the Pause - once you notice it, take some deep breaths the clear the mind to allow new energy and thought patterns to be brought into your body. 3. Act with a good new habit - do something that your brain enjoys such as getting outdoors, music, exercise, etc. this helps rewire the brain to come to this quicker each time. 4. Reflect & Journal - our bodies want to stay in the comfort so during times of discomfort and resistance, you will notice patterns. Writing these down allows you to see your growth in this area and be a witness to the painful and emotional times. Thank you for being here and sharing in this space with me. I am forever grateful and honored! Follow me Instagram @BeStillBeth or on Facebook Be Still Yoga or visit Be Still Yoga.

Check-in time...How are you doing? Most will probably say, fine – I typically say this as well. This week it's time to get raw and real to share how my week REALLY was.... spoiler alert, it wasn't my best week. But despite feeling down, defeated, and simply worn out, I share my reflection of what I learned during these few days and how I use tools to shift into a more peaceful state of mind for my mind, body, soul, and spirit! It's okay to have days that aren't all positive or joyful although we do have control over how we respond and shift out of the rut. At the end of today's episode, I will lead you through a short meditation to feel your body in the present moment and be aware of an emotion that your body is physically feeling. The meditation will start at about minute 23. Follow me Instagram @BeStillBeth or on Facebook Be Still Yoga or visit Be Still Yoga.

"Don't try to fast track God's plan for your life - it's going to happen. You need to wait for the Lord to give you the direction and timing." ~Jarod Gordon The Lord plants seeds into our lives. These seeds may take time to go deep into the soil before sprouting up in our lives. But when we are obedient in listening to the Lord and following His plans for our journey, we can see the fruits of these seeds in our future. Pastor Jarod Gordon of Capitoland Church joins me today to share part of his journey from marrying his high school sweetheart, going from a front row saved Christian to becoming a Pastor, moving from FL to WI with no job lined up, and publishing a book! Pastor Jarod reminds us that in order to discern the Lord's voice, we need to be in His alive and active word - THE BIBLE - and as we begin to understand his calming voice, we will begin to hear God in the whispers as he is always close to us. When you begin to hear the voice of God and obey His commands and abide in Him, then we will bear much fruit from those seeds sown.
