In this guided meditation the focus will be simply on observing the breath to soften and relax into the body and mind. By consciously observing each breath that flows in and out the mind has less opportunity to wander and more time to be present. As you continue to breathe deeply and consciously, imagine each breath as a wave of relaxation washing over your entire body. With each inhale, imagine drawing in peace, clarity, and positivity. With each exhale, imagine releasing any negativity, doubt, or tension that you may be holding onto.
Sylvia Morales is the mother to 4 year old boy and girl twins. She loves to cook, bake, and make random things like slime and soap with them! There is never a dull moment in her world or kitchen! In addition to her kitchen adventures Sylvia has been teaching yoga for 12 years and practicing for 18. She earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Texas Pan American and she majored in Spanish Literature and double minored in Kinesiology and Film Studies. Sylvia was inspired to become a yoga instructor because the practice of meditation and breath work helped her quit smoking a pack of cigarettes a day and gain a more loving self worth. Through that journey she fell in love with wellness and fitness and her focus is mental, spiritual, emotional fitness to compliment the physical component. In 2013 she was literally hit by a car while she was walking which led through a transformational journey which brought her to an even deeper gratitude and appreciation for life, love, and laughter. Change truly is the only constant in life, which is why it's so important to embrace it, learn from it and flow with it, in order to EVOLVE with it. She now dedicates her life to guiding others towards peace, self love & self acceptance through the practice of yoga & self study. This Kundalini meditation focuses on breath work. This is known to calm you down and increase serotonin so it's perfect for anyone who is dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety. This is also an introduction to Kundalini meditation. In Kundalini we tune in with the mantra ONG NAMO GURU DEV NAMO. We say this 3 times. It means I bow to the Creative Wisdom, I bow to the Divine Teacher. It opens your spiritual channel, assists you to align yourself with the frequency of the Infinite Self and quiet your mind. Lastly the breathing is a quick, loud, audible, cannon breath out the mouth 8 times in a row with a long inhale through the nose then repeat 8 cannon breaths out the mouth. Cannon breath helps to strengthen your parasympathetic nervous system, it helps with digestion, and to relax and unwind. *** Disclaimer: This meditation includes breath work that may cause dizziness, nausea, or trembling. If any of these should occur along with lightheadedness, or tingling please stop. Always consult your doctor before starting any exercise or meditation practice. Meditation: Breath by Breath - Our breath can be a home base that allows us to meet life with a relaxed, wakeful presence. This meditation helps us calm and settle the mind with long deep breathing, and then establishes a mindful presence with our natural breathing. When distracted, we learn to relax back again and again, learning the pathway of homecoming to the aliveness, openness and mystery that is always Here.

In this guided meditation, Ajahn Dhammasiha encourages us to use the breath as anchor for our awareness, and then to apply 'Anatta-Saññā' / 'Perception of Not-Self' to all the various thoughts, images, worries, phantasies bubbling up in our mind. Whatever distracts us from the breath, whether it's plans for the future or little traumas from the past, whether it's sensual images or restless thinking, we do not fight with them, we do not try to suppress them. Instead, we just see them as "N'etaṃ mama, n'eso'ham asmi, na me so attā ti" / "This is not mine, this is not me, I am not this, this is not my self". We can apply not-self even to the breath itself. We can apply not-self even to the process of meditation: "I am not the meditator!" When we don't regard any of these as me, mine or self, the 'distractions' are no longer a problem, they just move through, arise and fade away all on their own. If we are not the meditator, not the one 'doing' the meditation, suddenly meditating becomes to easy, everything's cruising along smoothly. https://www.dhammagiri.net https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJINt0JJBfFm_x0FZcU9QJw https://tinyletter.com/dhammagiri/archive https://open.spotify.com/show/0SHWfWEGkO8OAtSWNJlqyD https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dhammagiri-buddhist-podcasts/id1534539834

Ānāpāṇasati, mindfulness of the in and out breath, is the Buddha's own favourite meditation object, and the one he has given particular detailed instructions about. One peculiar advantage is that breath meditation can be used to develop both samatha (calm/samādhi/concentration) and vipassana (insight/wisdom).To cultivate and deepen samādhi, we develop gladness, joy, rapture and bliss with every breath. To develop insight, we contemplate impermanence, dispassion, fading away, ending, cessation and letting go with every breath. In this guided meditation, Ajahn Dhammasiha directs us not to apply the contemplation of impermanence and letting go directly to the breath itself. The breath is our anchor, and when we let go of the breath, we loose our meditation object. Instead, we contemplate the fading away of distracting thoughts, the cessation of anxieties about the future, the letting go of unwholesome or sensual feelings and emotions.www.castbox.fm/ch/2744970www.dhammagiri.org.auwww.tinyletter.com/dhammagiri/archivewww.vimeo.com/dhammatalks

In this guided meditation on occasion of Āsāḷhā Full Moon / Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta, Ajahn Dhammasiha is encoraging us to use breath meditation to investigate the four noble truths. We use the breath as anchor for our awareness, and then carefully observe how craving takes us away from the breath, with the result that we experience dukkha (suffering/stress/discomfort).If craving (taṇhā) leads us away from the present moment into past and future, the result is an increase in dukkha. If we let go of craving, we are able to stay in the present moment, and all dukkha connected with past and future comes to an end. Thus, we can directly observe aspects of the first, second, and third noble truth in our own experience. We can gain the same insight by observing the five hindrances (pañca nīvaraṇā) arisig, based on craving, and consequently generating dukkha in our mind. Again, the moment we let go of that craving, the hindrance will cease, and the dukkha caused by the hindrance will end as well.www.dhammagiri.org.auwww.tinyletter.com/dhammagiri/archivewww.vimeo.com/dhammatalks.

This is a very special episode in which I interview my close friend Kristin Kilmer, founder of KristinKilmer.com Life & Style: Harmonising Health and Home. Kristin is in remission from Lyme and she discusses how she did this by addressing every angle of healing – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Without warning, half way through this podcast, I asked Kristin if she'd be open to doing a live trance channel session – thankfully she said yes. Today's guided meditation takes a step back and introduces a very basic mindfulness meditation. It is a radical practice of non-doing. We simply observe the breath as it flows in the body without trying to change it or make it a certain way. Inevitably, we will become distracted. And that's ok. We simply guide our attention back to the breathing body and begin again.

For this guided meditation we will be focusing specifically on breath work (breath as mantra), the Jesus Prayer, and my own personal mantra. The quote for the day comes from The Cloud of Unknowing.
Meditation - Breath by Breath: Relaxing with Our Life (2019-06-05) - The breath can be a powerful portal to presence. This meditation guides us in relaxing with the breath, including the breath in a body scan, and then allowing the breath to serve as an anchor when the mind gets lost in thoughts. As we settle with the breath as a home base, we find we can then open to the changing waves of experience with increasing balance, clarity and ease. Following up on this week's conversation imagining your breath is your spirit, you may take 5 minutes just for yourself to unwind and connect to your breath, personifying it as you feel empowered and in control. This meditation is best listened to in a quiet, safe, place where you may listen without interruption. Do not listen to this when you are driving.
In this episode, professional cyclist Adam Roberge and I discuss his use of; - Anchoring in the present moment - Mindfulness techniques - Meditation - Breath-work and cold water immersion - Gratitude - Breaking through pain
My bio on Todd White is extremely short. Fanatical biohacker. Wears the same uniform every day. Starts every morning with 40 minutes of meditation. Eats one meal a day. Drinks a bottle of wine each night. And that's it. But this guy runs incredibly deep and in today's podcast, filmed after I did a meditation session with the entire team at in Napa Valley, we have a rich and meaningful conversation about meditation, manifestation, gratitude, fasting, and, of course, everything you need to know about organic wine. During our discussion, you'll discover: -The morning ritual that Todd and his team do together every morning...6:13 They start work at 10 am to allow team members to "protect their mornings." "Circle of love." Usually lasts 60-90 minutes. Meditation Breath work Gratefulness therapy It's not a day of work; it's a day of creating. Todd sees himself in the "health" business, in addition to the taste business. The warehouse workers are the most poignant example of the efficacy of this practice. Warehouse workers are typically treated as objects by leadership. Todd sees them as the center of love, energy and light. It causes them to want to contribute and create. -The stringent hiring practices Todd uses to ensure the right people are hired...12:54 BTW, Dry Farm Wines is hiring! The include everything about the company, including the "Peace and Profit Manifesto". First rule: "We lead with love." Life, not business, questions; essay format. Designed to be self-selecting; they want people to "opt out" if they don't see themselves as a good fit. -Some of the unconventional work practices that Dry Farm Wines uses to balance life and work....17:08 Happiness is an internal mechanism of joy. Todd sees one of his role as a mentor and guide to his employees. The actual time of production or creation is around 6 hours. Very rare "emails to all"; no "reply all" at all. Unlimited paid time off. They don't sell any domestic wines; all grapes are from small organic farms in Europe. Sharing the culture of the company is as important as promoting the actual product at events, trade shows, etc. Communal meals; great parties. -The process by which Todd came to create a company with such a unique culture...26:00 Became an entrepreneur at the age of 17. Experienced a "grand failure" before founding DFW. Senior health care; 40+ employees. Good concept, but was in it for the wrong reasons. The things we say "no" to are more important the things we say "yes" to. Led to discovering meditation. Developed a set of 18 business rules; from that became DFW. In constant ketosis due to a daily 22 hour fast. You see a difference between grapes grown on a small family farm and organic grapes at a market. -Todd's tips for eating once per day...36:12 It's more psychological than based on physical needs. Helps to be in ketosis. Adds a lot of time to the day for work. Reduces decision fatigue. It's important to be around likeminded people; creates accountability. -Todd's definition of "biohacking" and how he applies it to his own life...45:24 "The art and science of how our behavior influences our biological and neurological outcome." Proverb: "To feel is to understand" You can feel when someone is beneficial for your body. Meditation is a practice, and has an aggregate benefit over time. Began meditating twice daily. Minimum of 20 minutes. Todd attributes the success of his business to meditation. Meditation allows us to quiet the mind. We live in traumatic thought. 95% of thoughts we have are thoughts we had yesterday. Teaches us to live in the present moment; stop the trauma of thought. Attachment leads to suffering. Meditation teaches us to look past the attachment to thoughts which block the abundance we were granted at our birth. It's impossible to be grateful and fearful at the same time. Before we can do, we must be. -Thoughts on The Master Key by Charles Haanel...54:42 We're all manifesting. The question is: what are you manifesting, and are you using the tools to manifest in the correct way? Also recommended: The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Doesn't offer a "prescription": It offers an understanding. Was initially offered as a weekly correspondence course delivered via mail in 1912. Words become forms, which become vibrations. (self-fulfilling prophecies.) -Why Todd started Dry Farm Wines, and what he has learned about wine since then...1:01:15 Needed a better, healthier way to drink. (DFW is low alcohol.) Couldn't drink alcohol after becoming ketotic. Discovered "natural wines" by accident. Around .1% of all wine makers are natural wine makers. Wines are grown, not made. DFW wines are sugar free. Fermented with wild, native yeast. Most wines are fermented with GMO yeast. "Organic" wine does not mean "natural" or "clean." It simply means that the grapes are grown organically. In the U.S. the FDA approves 76 additives for wine. (.) Natural wines are additive free; no modification in the cellar. The dangers of alcohol. Addictive. Dangerous neurotoxin; must be dealt with with care. Healthy in small doses (2 glasses per day); toxic in large doses. Natural wine is "alive". It's like drinking from someone's heart and soul. "They haven't been killed with sulfur dioxide." --David Perlmutter Irrigation practices. An irrigated grape vine has a root ball 2-3' deep and 2-3' wide. Unirrigated grape vine can go 50-60' deep. Resistance is key to the advancement of life. The vine is struggling for its life; brings character to the fruit. Irrigated vines produce "lazy" fruit. You irrigate for greed. Has a higher yield. Weighs more with more water; sold by the ton. Tranquility by way of humility. This weeks' meditation focuses on surrendering to the Universe, rather than fighting against it. While it is true that we make our own way in this world, it is also true that things happen to us that are beyond our control. Embracing the intended and the unintended creates space for Understanding and Compassion for ourselves, and for others.
