In this episode, Jason waxes on about the romanticism of living on the road in an RV, and Kevin reminds us that the reality may be different. #vanlife became a cultural phenomenon after the 2008 housing crisis when many left their homes and didn't' have the means for anything else. The wealthy trust funders made it look romantic to be on the road, the reality for most was much different. Families on The Road is a great website to see people living this alternative lifestyle, and how they make it work. Amid the COVID-19 panic, they have some unique challenges that those in the suburbs don't have. Disc Golf is a fun activity with courses available in many city parks. All of those hobbies revolve in some way around what is most important, Family. Spending time with two children, and his wife of 25 years who’s shares many of the same hobbies and pursuits. Popular culture is very much part his life, from Big Brother watch parties in the early 2000’s all things Star Trek and pretty much anything sci-fi. Being a member of the MTV generation and growing up in the golden age of television means he is a world class nerd and proud of it! Kevin hails from Wyoming and enjoys outdoor activities. He live and work in Colorado for about 11 years before returning to Wyoming. He currently calls the Pacific Northwest home. He loves being a dad and has four children and a couple grandchildren. His wife is his closest friend and they share a love for nature and the outdoors. In addition to the outdoor Kevin likes to learn about anything that sparks his interest from cooking to woodworking and anything in between. His true passion is travel and learning about local culture. He finds joy making up self improvement challenges.
