This Week on The Hudson Valley Disc Golf Podcast:Corey, Alex, Randy, Patrick, and Joe gather for a jam-packed episode covering everything happening on and off the course across the Hudson Valley and beyond. I explained why the podcast release schedule may be moving back to Fridays and asked for listener feedback on upcoming Patreon merch designs and ideas. We did a full preview of the late summer and fall schedule, including the Battenkill Open at CTK, DisCap Flex #6 at Hyzer Creek, the 7th Annual Stony Kill Scramble (plus course layout and park updates), the Syracuse Open, Artemis Unchained VI, Montgomery County Championships, the Rethrow Open at Colonial Acres, and the New York State Championship heading to Long Island among others.Alex and Corey broke down their match at CTK, featuring Alex's lights-out putting, Corey's clutch throw-in eagle on Hole 18 to force extra holes, and a sudden-death playoff.Joe recapped his weekend camping out and competing at Maple Hill for the Maple Hill Masters, navigating the Diamond and Blue layouts, torrential rain, and the local food scene. We also looked at J-Dubs, DisCap Pro League at J-Park, and regional dubs leagues across the area, followed by an update on the SkipAce leaderboard after the Preserve Doubles Championship. And we finished it off with a round of Disc or No Disc where Dr. Rocks (Justin Park) provided a custom trivia category on Hudson Valley course geology that pitted the StonyKillers against the JParkians.Support the showSpecial Thanks to our Patreon Supporters: Branden Cline, Tim Goyette, Peter Hodge, Ryan Nelson, Kevin T. Episode 451 of Boss Hog of Liberty is available now. Host voices are Jeremiah Morrell, Bones Harcourt, Betsy Mills, and Kaleb Buchanan. Sara Morrell fills in as guest producer as Zach Burcham is out of town. The big news is the new 18 hole disc golf course that is coming to Memorial Park. Four years in the making, set to open on August 8th. Some local nature organizations have raised environmental concerns, however the park board has voted unanimously to move forward with the project. Indiana has a 1.5 billion dollar budget surplus this summer on the heels of surprisingly high sales tax collections. Gas taxes have been suspended for the summer and our hosts feel like they are being squeezed by BMV registration fees and property taxes. Are these fees and taxes getting out of whack? Does the governors office have too much flexibility in playing games with when taxes are collected? Daylight Saving time might be changing. Permanent DST has passed the US House of Representatives. The US Senate passed it in 2022, but will they pass it again in 2026? President Trump says he would sign it, if it comes to his desk. In Sports, Spain won the World Cup, Alex Palou won Nashville, Alex Bowman is retiring from NASCAR in a year and a half, and the Indiana Fever are now at the top of the WNBA East Standings. The Courtesy Violation Disc Golf Podcast is back to break down one of the biggest stories in disc golf: Gannon Buhr's complete domination at the 2026 European Open PDGA Major. After another commanding victory, fans are asking the question nobody thought we'd be asking this soon… is Gannon Buhr making professional disc golf boring, or are we witnessing the beginning of one of the greatest runs in the history of the sport? In this episode we dive deep into the European Open results, discuss what separated Gannon Buhr from the rest of the MPO field, and debate what the competition must do to catch up before the 2026 Disc Golf Pro Tour season gets completely out of reach. We also tackle the growing conversation around touring economics in professional disc golf. If sponsorship dollars aren't keeping pace with the rising costs of life on the road, what should players be doing to survive financially while chasing their dreams on the DGPT and PDGA Major circuit? But that's not all… Is AI ruining everything? Can one of our hosts actually summon UFOs? Is the new G Vest the next revolutionary disc golf training product, or an expensive gimmick destined to flop?If you love disc golf news, PDGA Major coverage, DGPT analysis, player sponsorship discussions, disc golf equipment reviews, hot takes, conspiracy theories, and completely unqualified opinions, this episode is for you.Topics Covered:• European Open 2026 Results• Gannon Buhr's Historic Dominance• PDGA Major Analysis• Disc Golf Pro Tour Discussion• Touring Player Finances• Disc Golf Sponsorships• Artificial Intelligence Debate• UFO Stories• G Vest Review & Discussion• Disc Golf News and Hot TakesSubscribe for weekly disc golf podcasts, tournament recaps, disc reviews, professional disc golf news, DGPT coverage, PDGA Major discussion, player interviews, and plenty of laughs along the way.#DiscGolf #GannonBuhr #EuropeanOpen #PDGA #DGPT #DiscGolfPodcast #ProfessionalDiscGolf #MPO #DiscGolfNews #DiscGolfProTour #Discmania #PDGAMajor #CourtesyViolationPodcast #DiscGolfLife #DiscGolfCommunity

This Week on the Hudson Valley Disc Golf Podcast: Alex, Corey, Jaimen, Randy, Tim, Joe and Evan were here and Jasan made a surprise appearance to help us go over the week that was in local disc golf. Unfortunately, we didn't get to many of the local events because of episode length and time constraints but we did get to a few of the leagues that the guys played in. We spent most of our time talking about Pyramid Quads with Jaimen, Randy and Corey, Corey also played in the Discmania Presents Sunshine Open at 501 and Mile Marker 63 - Powered By Abreu Karol and GMT. Tim pulled a Jay Gorsage and set up a Draft App so we could make picks for Minekill this weekend. Randy wanted to call the app #thirsttrapsofhvdgp but, as the guy who would probably say it the most, I vetoed that idea. We also got a sneak peak at the brackets for the Summer Battle Royale, if you're playing, it may be old news by now but it was still fun to go over the brackets. We finished it off with a round of Disc or No Disc and reminders to register for Minekill AM's, the HelderBERG Championships 2 and OKDGC Circuit Challenge. Support the showSpecial Thanks to our Patreon Supporters: Branden Cline, Tim Goyette, Peter Hodge, Ryan Nelson, Kevin T. We heard about their rounds both weekends, Evan's round at SPW and what goes into running an event. As usual, we covered all of the local events everyone played in and some they didn't(including maybe a Survivor 50 spoiler) and finished it off with a round of Disc or No Disc that was filled with tough questions and maybe a couple mistakes.Support the showSpecial Thanks to our Patreon Supporters: Branden Cline, Tim Goyette, Peter Hodge, Ryan Nelson, Kevin T. Disc golf turns a simple flying disc into a surprisingly structured sport with rules, strategy, and plenty of trees waiting to ruin your plans. In this episode, we follow the basics of the game, how courses are designed, what different discs are used for, and why players obsess over angles, distance, and putting into metal chains. It's steady and consistent, with no whispering and no sudden changes, just enough to give your mind something to follow as you wind down. Happy sleeping!
