Slow living, Mother Nature and probably some talking to plants.

Sometimes you just want to say it out loud. So, I’ve put my rusty podcasting skills to the test and (much swearing) later, here’s a quick voice note from me to you.In it I mention a flower essence I’ve been using and loving, and it’s the Living Life Lightly blend from Saskia’s Fower Essences. Highly recommended. Please feel free to make this a two way conversation in the comments! This is a public episode. I’ve been thinking about what tethers us into the material world: relationships, memories, stories, the impact of culture… It’s been on my mind as I witness my father letting go of many of these things. He has dementia and I speak about it here, so if this is a tender topic for you then perhaps give this episode a miss. Otherwise, I hope this is thought-provoking. Please reach out if you’d like to talk about your own experiences. Thanks for listening. This is a public episode. Well it seems as if it's going to happen anyway. May as well do it with intent! Here's March's voice message, this time from a fallen willow tree. This means there's some natural background noise and hopefully it won't interfere with your listening.I mention some YouTube videos in this one and promised to put links here:1. Any excuse for a fresh start; this time with commitment! Here's February's voice note from me to you.I'm bringing together all the pieces. Celebrating a sense of wholeness and feeling excited to explore what comes next. The new, improved website gets a mention and I try, with varying degrees of success, not to speak too fast in my enthusiasm for talking to you again. Y'know when you've left it just a little too long to be entirely comfortable? That. But here I am, with some news and thoughts, resetting my podcast brain cells to 'active'. This is a public episode. New name, new season. A voice note from me to you, talking about my Wild Temple and what moments of devotion I've found there this week. Trees, plants, flower essences and some sheep on backing vocals.
I've been turning to all sorts of things to keep me engaged, informed and positive as the human world continues its crazy dance. If you want to know more about any of it, there's some links to people, organisations, apps and topics I mention, plus some extra background reading, on my podcast page.
There's a point in this where I sound as if I'm about to say,"And this...is a little number called 'Novels of Acquaintance'..." and burst into pub-singing. Don't worry, I wouldn't do that to you. Instead, I'm talking about emotional labour, doing it willingly, but recognising a need for respite. For sanctuary.
I've stopped thinking that our need for rest, beauty and freedom is about burying our heads in the sand. It brings me peace, strength and a vision of a better way. That makes some level of sanctuary, an essential for our times.
I've reached the end of the road and here - under a big full moon - is why I'm glad about it.
It seems like the number 2020 is a valid excuse for not doing anything when you thought you'd be doing it, so...that. A catch-up before a new start. Ten minutes from a fallen tree somewhere in a hedge, because that's how I like to record.
It’s been a while. I’m sitting by a stream just thinking out loud; saying hello. Straight to the app and uploaded. X
We're not meant to be the same every day, are we? We ebb and flow. We fully embody the wild in our nature some days, and others we're all about Netflix and cake. But finding what lights our fire and brings us into our wild, means we can carry it with us wherever we are and whatever we're doing. That's what I'm looking for, and a little Mercurian retrograde tells me that I may have had it all along. Typical.
It's a new start for my podcast, and a new name. I thought I'd put up a quick intro for this new(ish) direction and share a little of what I've been doing since I last put up a podcast. Listening back to it, I'm outting myself as a massive nerd again but I am what I am! So just a short 'hello again'. Thanks for listening!
By the time I'd edited this episode I knew for sure that I had only scratched the surface of these topics. There's a reason that people build Doctorates on these things. #shouldabeenananthropologist I have a feeling these themes are forming the basis of whatever I create in the future. They feel like foundation stones for my alchemic life. There's a few links over here.
It's been a couple of weeks and time to get episode out there. I'm talking about SAD and how I deal with it. Also what I've been doing while not podcasting, which - as it turns out - isn't very much at all! How's that for seasonal living? Links to a few things are available here.
I've had a week of lemons; please consider this podcast my lemonade (small L because there's only one Queen Bey). It's Libra season and I'm talking about energetic balance. How topical am I? Lots of links for this episode on on my website.
What do we want when we think no one's judging us? Frankly, there are things I want regardless of other people's opinions and I'm not afraid to admit it. While I dream, I've come up with a possible solution to my therapy room dilemma. And then's a whole lot of other stuff... This week's links are over at my site.
I did my best not to Supernerd my way through this one; asked for advice on a problem that's holding me back a bit, and revealed that I found a dentist in England whose professional development didn't stop in 1898. I know...how can you resist? I added links to my website, just for you.
This week I'm talking about stepping into new shoes, on new ground, after 50. I've realised I'm limiting Life by listening to all the old stories about age, and it's time to let it all go. Links are here.
Ira Glass once said,"You just want to try a bunch of stuff, because you don't know what's going to be great." And in the spirit of that quote, I'm trying a bunch of stuff. Links for this episode
There was a time not so long ago that I would never have said these words out loud in public, but that was then. These days, my focus is on living the best life I can, not on the imagined opinions of people I'll mostly never meet, who mostly couldn't care less. That it took me until now to get here just goes to show how ingrained old stories can be. Here's to a happy ending.
A first episode that's done, not perfect. In this introduction I talk about discovering Human Design; poet and creative Brooke Solis's work, and...diving into the vulnerability...how midlife can affect your sensuality.
