1. When Politicians Panicked: The New Coronavirus, Expert Opinion, and a Tragic Lapse of Reason. John Tamny discusses the severe economic contraction initiated by mandated lockdowns, such as Governor Cuomo's March 20, 2020, order in New York. Tamny argues that politicians caused the crisis by forcing successful businesses to cease operations. These sudden actions by major economies forced global investors to fundamentally rethink the future value of businesses. Although early market signals from China suggested the virus was not highly lethal, pivotal political decisions, like the cancellation of South by Southwest, triggered panic, leading markets to realize that political action, not reality, was the primary threat. Markets digested these fears and corrected before rebounding. 1918
How does framing influence the way we think, feel, and act? Sociologist and author Mikael Klintman joins us to explore how framing shapes nearly every part of life — from art and politics to health and everyday conversations. We discuss how subtle shifts in language and context can change our perceptions, why framing itself is neutral but powerful, and how expanding or contracting our frames can unite or divide us. Tune in for practical insights on recognizing framing in action and using it to see the world differently. Awakening Together, Relaxing into Happiness with William Cooper, M.Th., LPC
Awakening is about flow. Flow of love, peace, happiness, ease, relaxation, joy, etc. Awakening is about being who you truly are. Tension is about blocking your self from who you are. Cut off from your Flow of Happiness and Peace you experience Anger, Hurt, unfulfillment, Fear, Anxiety, etc. Flow responds and dances with life. Contraction and tension react against life because it all hurts. In this simple practice we say yes to any love, peace, happiness, ease, relaxation, joy, etc. we feel inside so it can grow.....and we look at how to let everything else go. In your inner garden you water what you would like to grow....and you let the rest go. Why does stepping into your power feel more dangerous than staying small? You've felt it - that moment when you're about to speak your truth, share your gift, or show up fully, and something makes you pull back. You dim your light, soften your voice, play smaller than you are because somewhere deep down, you learned that being too bright makes you a target. The people around you seem more comfortable when you're less, and you've been carrying that weight for so long you've forgotten what it feels like to shine without apologizing. This episode exposes why power threatens the people around you (and why their contraction during your expansion isn't your responsibility), the laser eye surgery metaphor that reveals when someone isn't ready for truth, and what to do when you're exhausted from hiding your gifts to keep others comfortable. You'll discover the difference between dimming your light from fear versus compassion, why the speaker spent years trapped in miserable complacency because he couldn't communicate truth, and the exact meditation timeline where thinking stops and something magical begins (hint: around minute 15). Plus the controversial truth about Hitler, the speck-in-the-eye paradox, and why hope is actually a false sense that keeps you stuck.Hit play to learn why your light isn't offensive - it's necessary - and how to stop apologizing for being exactly who you were meant to be.New episodes out every Monday and Thursday at 10 AM Eastern Time The Greek God Physique Blueprint - https://www.justinegliskis.com/The Greek God Physique Strategy Call - https://calendly.com/egliskiscapital/greek-god-physique-strategy-callEmail egliskis@pm.me to get in contact with meDiscover a podcast designed for entrepreneurs and solopreneurs navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship, offering insights on stress management, health and wellness, and overcoming imposter syndrome, while emphasizing work-life balance, energy alignment, and inner peace; explore topics like burnout recovery, business automation, scaling a business, business growth strategies, client management, mental resilience, overcoming anxiety, and achieving clearer thinking for sustainable success, using the blade of awareness, solving emotional dysfunction and unveiling the trickster within. Is the Qur'an truly the word of God, or does it reflect the creative imagination of Prophet Muhammad (s)? How do we understand revelation in a world governed by reason and science? In this episode of Thinking Islam, we grapple with these fundamental questions with Dr Abdolkarim Soroush, one of the most influential voices in contemporary Islamic intellectual reform. This wide-ranging conversation explores Dr Soroush's groundbreaking theory of the expansion and contraction of religious knowledge, his views on revelation and prophetic experience, and the controversial notion that the Qur'an might be better understood as "Kalam Muhammad" rather than literal divine speech. From essentials and accidentals of the Qur'an to the paradoxical nature of Prophetic life, we examine how prophetic experience can be understood in our post-prophetic age.Dr Soroush is a distinguished philosopher of religion and a leading voice in Islamic intellectual reform. A Visiting Scholar at the University of Maryland and former Professor at the University of Tehran, he has also held visiting positions at Harvard, Princeton, and Yale Universities. In this Riff, Gino explores a truth we all face: we are either expanding or contracting. Expansion brings learning, progress, and momentum. Contraction, on the other hand, brings discomfort, doubt, and resistance. Each phase plays a role in our growth. Progress rarely moves in a straight line; it comes in cycles.Gino shares his own cycles of Shedding and Shining, reminding us that contraction does not mean we're broken... it means we're about to break through. Whether it's a business hitting a ceiling or an individual wrestling with change, the pattern is the same: expansion, contraction, evolution, revolution. Your job is to stay aware, trust the process, and look for the lesson. Because if you're committed to growth, another expansion is always around the corner. 4. When Politicians Panicked: The New Corona Virus, Expert Opinion, and a Tragic Lapse of Reason by John Tamney, argues that the severe economic contraction experienced in 2020 was primarily a consequence of politicians' panicked reactions and forced lockdowns, rather than the inherent lethality of the COVID-19 virus itself. Tamney highlights Governor Cuomo's March 20, 2020, decision to shut down New York, portraying the economy as a "valve" that could be arbitrarily opened and closed, which led to an immediate and severe contraction that persisted long after. The book contends that financial markets had already accounted for the virus's severity based on early signals from China, where US companies like Apple, GM, Nike, and Starbucks maintained strong performance, indicating the virus was not indiscriminately lethal. The real market panic, leading to a "very quick correction," occurred when politicians demonstrated their ability to "wreck an economy" through drastic actions like shutting down events such as South by Southwest in Texas. This response is contrasted with the 1968 Hong Kong flu pandemic, which caused 100,000 American deaths (equivalent to 250,000 today) but saw no significant market reaction or political lockdowns, primarily because technology at the time made such widespread closures impractical without risking "mass riots". Tamney criticizes the government's subsequent interventions, such as the CARES Act and the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), for being akin to "central planning" imposed on top of political decrees. He argues these programs indiscriminately propped up entities like private schools, Harvard, and the Los Angeles Lakers, instead of allowing market forces to determine which businesses would adapt or fail. This "nationalization of investment" through government checks and loans was deemed anti-investment and merely delayed recovery by diverting capital from those most capable of investing to those most likely to consume, which does not drive economic growth. The author advocates for economic growth and individual freedom as the most effective responses to health threats. He points to examples like the voluntary disappearance of hand sanitizer and toilet paper before official shutdowns, and an individual living in a tent in Florida to protect his family despite no mandates, demonstrating that people don't need laws to avoid illness. Tamney suggests that a constitutional "right to contract" and return to work should protect individuals from such mandates. He concludes that the resilience shown by private enterprise, such as Pfizer developing a vaccine without "Operation Warp Speed" money, underscores that a healthy economy fostered by freedom is the best defense against disease. The core lesson, he asserts, is "never again take away people's freedom". 1919 TEXAS

1919 DC.

1. Introduction and Context * Purpose of the Podcast/Discussion * Association with "Superhuman Selling" and Elyse Archer * Speaker's (Brandon Handley's) role: Running a men's mastermind * Current theme: "Grounding the Leap" 2. Understanding the "Leap" and its Challenges * Definition of the "leap": A breakthrough, a new baseline, a significant shift. * The problem: Leaps can fade into memory without grounding. * The goal: Locking in the leap, stabilizing the "new you" to become the new baseline. * Breakthroughs are exciting but initially unstable. * The nervous system, mind, and body need time to adapt to the new state. 3. The "Being" vs. "Doing" Paradigm for Grounding * Common misconception: Securing a leap through more efforting, habits, and hustling. * The speaker's past experience: Stuck in the "doing more" mindset. * The key principle: 95-98% of locking a leap is "being," only 2-5% is "doing." * The importance of understanding what it means to "live in this new state." 4. The Union of Heart and Mind (Kokoro) * An ancient principle from other cultures. * Concept introduced: Union of heart and mind. * Historical influences: Alan Watts and the concept of "mushin." * The Japanese term: "Kokoro" (written with the character for heart). * Definition of Kokoro: The union of heart and mind, working as one, not in competition. * Western civilization's separation of heart and mind: * The head as the CEO. * The heart ignored or relegated to a passive role. * Consequences: Leaps don't stick, trying to live breakthroughs in the mind while ignoring the body and emotions. 5. Scientific Basis for Heart-Mind Connection * The heart's intelligence: Not just a blood pump. * Heart's neural network: Approximately 40,000 neurons. * Information flow: Heart sends more information to the brain than vice-versa. * Pre-cognitive reactions: The heart reacts milliseconds before conscious thought. * Research backing: Harvard, University of California, and others. * Implication: The body "feels" the terrain before the brain maps it. * Ignoring the heart/intuition leads to reverting to the old baseline. * Tuning into the heart and mind together makes the new terrain familiar. 6. Alignment and States of Being * The principle of "alignment first, action second." * Transition from "contraction" to "expansion." * Defining "contraction": * Physical sensations: Chest caving in, shallow breath, racing mind, heaviness. * Psychological association: The old baseline, fear of the unknown. * Defining "expansion": * Physical sensations: Open chest, deep diaphragm breathing, relaxed shoulders, clear mind. * Psychological association: The new terrain, confidence in the new identity. * Leading with expansion allows "doing" to flow naturally. 7. Practical Exercise: Locking in the Leap * Purpose: To ground the leap in the present moment. * Step 1: Identify Contraction. * Think of things put off since the leap. * Feel bodily sensations of tightening (contraction). * Recognize this as the "old you" trying to keep you "safe." * Step 2: Imagine Expansion. * Visualize the desired outcome of the task being done. * Notice bodily sensations of opening and softening (expansion). * Recognize this as the leap being grounded. * Step 3: Future Action Protocol. * Do not act from contraction. * Pause, find expansion. * Then, move forward. 8. Reinforcing and Stabilizing the Leap * Keeping the leap "unshakable." * Training the mind to spot evidence of the leap. * Recognizing new responses vs. reactions. * "Proving the leap in real time" (Price Pritchett's concept). * Looking for proof while living it, not waiting for external validation. * Past leaps may have been unrecognized. * Opportunities appearing in unexpected ways ("ways that you know not of," referencing biblical phrasing). * "Trusting the unknown" (Price Pritchett's concept). * Recording and acknowledging this evidence in real time. 9. Anchoring the New Frequency (Heart-Mind Lock-In) * A guided breathing exercise. * Technique: Slow, easy breaths through the nose, belly expansion, shoulder softening. * Focus: Calling up the feeling of already living the leap and expansion. * Anchoring the feeling through bodily checks (shoulders, neck). * Establishing the new "home frequency" as living from expansion. 10. Making Choices for Stability * Every choice either stabilizes the leap or slides back to the baseline. * Key check-ins: * Feeling state: Contraction or expansion? * Heart and mind connection: Working together or split? * The power of choice: Choosing expansion, choosing Kokoro, choosing to live in the new state. 11. Invitation to Further Support and Community * Offering help with grounding leaps, experiencing leaps, and identifying leaps. * Mention of the "Superhuman Selling" mastermind. * Format: Bi-weekly, within groups and communities. * Benefits: Support from others and the opportunity to support them. * Concept: "A whole rising tide lifts all ships." * Call to action: Reach out and check it out. * Ultimate goal: Making leaps "sticky" and establishing them as the new baseline/reality.

ISM Manufacturing PMI hit a 9-month low this morning. The problem with the manufacturing numbers is that the contraction is so “broad-based,” argues Thomas Derry. “A positive way to look at it is, maybe it's a trough.” Customer inventories are low, usually a positive sign for future growth, he notes, and any rate cuts by the Fed would boost activity. Thomas also discusses tariffs, saying we should see higher prices flow through to the consumer “any day” now.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day.Subscribe to the Market Minute newsletter - https://schwabnetwork.com/subscribeDownload the iOS app - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/schwab-network/id1460719185Download the Amazon Fire Tv App - https://www.amazon.com/TD-Ameritrade-Network/dp/B07KRD76C7Watch on Sling - https://watch.sling.com/1/asset/191928615bd8d47686f94682aefaa007/watchWatch on Vizio - https://www.vizio.com/en/watchfreeplus-exploreWatch on DistroTV - https://www.distro.tv/live/schwab-network/Follow us on X – https://twitter.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/schwabnetworkFollow us on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/schwab-network/About Schwab Network - https://schwabnetwork.com/about

Global upstream oil and gas spending is expected to hit $543 billion this year, a 1.1% decrease from 2024, with reduced capital allocation across all regions except the Middle East. Capital spending in the US shale sector experienced a 3.2% drop in 2024, with forecasts indicating a further 1.9% decline in 2025, despite rising costs from tariffs on steel and other product. Despite conservative capital plans, US oil liquids production is set to rise by 672 kbd in 2025 and 530 kbd in 2026, boosted by substantial hedging during mid-June's oil price spike. Globally, oil liquids supply is projected to grow by 2.3 mbd this year. Speaker: Natasha Kaneva, Head of Global Commodities Research This podcast was recorded on July 3, 2025. In this episode, guest host Don Davis joins Lars Jensen to unpack what he calls the most drastic market swing since the financial crisis. Spot quotes from Asia to the USWC surged—then plummeted in real-world execution, with a $1,500 per FFE drop in just one week. Lars breaks down the data gap between quotes and actual bookings, and how mismatched timing between demand and capacity triggered a rapid unwinding. They also explore the geopolitical implications of rising Middle East tensions and how it could impact shipping lanes and oil prices. A must-listen for anyone watching rates, risk, and reliability in today's supply chain.

Hey, Soothers! Here's my Tarot reading for the month of April 2025, for all. Feels like an understatement to say that growth isn't always easy—it expands us, stretches us, and sometimes contracts us before we bloom again. But this month's Tarot reading for April wants us to remember this: nature moves in rhythms—trees shed their leaves before budding anew, the ocean tides pull back before surging forward, and the moon wanes before it waxes. Just like the natural world, we, too, grow in cycles of expansion and contraction. There are seasons of stretching beyond our comfort zones and seasons of retreat, rest, and integration. Trust that both are necessary. This collective reading reminds us to embrace the sweetness of the present moment, trust that our spirit guides are always near, and move at the pace our soul needs while we go through whatever cycle is occuring. There's no rush. Let life unfold in divine timing. Center yourself as the expansion or contraction (or both!) occur.
