Chris Parker is a kiwi comedian, writer, actor and perhaps most notably the guest who initially suggested the most absurd 'romance' film (it was Deep Impact. And to be fair he argues a great point at the start of this episode). We settled on French Canadian director Xavier Dolan's stunning film Matthias and Maxime which I'd not heard of before the podcast, but absolutely ADORED. You don't need to see the film to enjoy this episode as we cover soooo many other wonderful themes and films, but please see the film at some point in your life because it's beautiful. You can watch it on Apple TV. Love you, more than a friend x LINKS: Follow Chris on instagram See Chris on tour in Oz and NZ Follow Ash on tikok and instagram Follow the podcast on instagram Grab tickets to Ash's book tour here Pre-order Ash's debut novel Love on the Air

Manchester Adored did it again, pulled an amazing line up out of the hat, securing two of the 90s legends that influenced and helped shape my sound… Allister Whitehead and Jeremy Healy. Adored is always one of the highlights of my gig calendar, causing me to dig really deep and giving me the perfect opportunity to put together a mix that reflected THE decade of the dance scene, packed with tracks from the glamorous house of Peruvia and Miss Moneypenny's and Cream's main room, but with some modern and Manchester twists.Settle in for the ride and enjoy x

I have a confession about the 6 Intimacy Skills™ I'm always talking about. At first, I thought they sounded stupid. I remember thinking, “I am NOT going to do THAAAAT!” I thought they were old-fashioned and just plain yucky. I thought if I apologized for being disrespectful, that would be a step back for all womankind. And that's NOT how *I* was raised. Or if I expressed my gratitude for something my husband should do anyway, that would turn me into a Stepford Wife robot. Good thing I was so desperate or I probably never would have tried the 6 Intimacy Skills. Once I did, I saw things so differently. Yes, the Skills were counterintuitive but also compelling. I got excited about how I felt when I experimented with them. I didn't think that was going to happen, but then I actually *tried* them. Which wasn't easy to do all by my lonesome. Fortunately, there's now a whole community of like-minded women, and we have something exciting brewing! I'll tell you all about it on today's episode of The Empowered Wife Podcast, where I'm talking about the 5-Day Adored Wife Challenge. And the Man Panel continues! My guest Tim is the husband of a podcast guest and relationship coach. I'll get his perspective on the changes in his family as a result of his wife using the 6 Intimacy Skills and the Connection Framework. Get ready to hear the male perspective on what makes men attracted to their wives and want to be her hero.

The Curly Girl's Obsessions Episode 29: Pulling Back The Curtain on Business Decisions Thinking out of the box as a business owner is a must. Things change so often and you always need to reevaluate where you are and what you are doing. Is it stressful? Of course it is. Do I like it? It doesn't matter if I like it or not, it's a must in business to know when to pivot and understand how. I realized that running a platform for education with hair extensions I needed to start with new stylists. Hair school teaches you how to pass the state boards. Hair school gives you the basic knowledge of how to properly perform the essentials of hair. It is up to the individual to seek out the education they want to grow. Learning how to properly install hand-tied hair extensions is going to take a stylist's career to the next level. Learning this service will maximize your earning potential. Creating a niche service within hair extensions makes you even that much more valuable as a stylist. This is why Adored Signature is taking the education to the students at hair school that are about to graduate. We want to help them level up their skills the Adored way. Listen in as Jennifer discusses the very means by which to grow as a business owner. With statistics on the hair industry and what is currently growing by leaps and bounds. There have been a whirlwind of challenges. A few things that still remain the same is keeping the focus on our clients and providing the best possible services and keeping the team happy and fulfilled. Listen in as I discuss the past 11 years and I am not sure if I said it or not, but I can't wait to see what the next 11 years have in store for us! As always thank you for listening. Les Alfred didn't accomplish any of the goals she set for 2023, and she's entirely at peace with that. Adored the opportunity to sit down with one of my friends, Les, host of The Balanced Black Girl podcast for the second installment of the Turning the Page series. In today's episode, we talk about how to set SMART goals, how to avoid unrealistic expectations and putting too much pressure on ourselves, and the cross-country move that changed Les' life for the better. She also shares her theme of the year, proudest and most difficult moments of 2023, her person of the year (hint: It's not Taylor Swift), and something she hopes to do more of in the next 365. Our guest today is legendary actress and singer Jan Daley. Adored for her unique magic of making what's classic, contemporary again. As a young adult in the '60s, she was crowned Miss California. In 1970 Jan's recording of "Til Love Touches Your Life" from the film Madron was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song. During that time she opened on tour for several legendary comedians, among them George Burns, Rodney Dangerfield, Don Rickles, and Bob Hope. Jan went on to accompany Bob Hope on tour, performing to audiences around the world, including U.S. troops in Vietnam, with the Bob Hope Christmas Tour 50 years ago. With her incredible vocals, Jan became a frequent star on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and The Carol Burnett Show. This year, Jan was inducted into the Women Songwriters Hall of Fame, capping a career spanning over 50 years. #entertainment #entertainer #singer #singersongwriter #songwriter #jazzsinger #bobhope #rodneydangerfield #georgeburns #donrickles #deanmartin #johnnycarson #thetonightshow #cancersurvivor
Joey & Mulv review Manchester City's return to winning ways against Brighton in the Premier League. We look ahead to a big week with a midweek UCL tie against Young Boys and the Manchester Derby on Sunday!
Just five years old. Cute as a button. She had brown hair and brown eyes. Never met a stranger. Loved to make people laugh. Always had a funny joke to tell. Followed it up with “Waka waka,” just like Fozzie Bear from the Muppets. Adored all things Disney. And swimming. She would never turn down a dance party. Loved to read and be read to. Her favorite books? Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Night Night Little Pookie were two of her favorites. And then one day she disappeared. As if that weren't horrible enough, her parents didn't report her missing for ten months. Her name is Oakley Carlson. This is her story. Anyone who has any information about Oakley Lynn Carlson's disappearance are asked to contact the Sheriff's Office investigation division at sodetectives@co.grays-harbor.wa.us or call 360-964-1729 Resources: https://themurderdiariespodcast.com/episodes Music Used: Walking with the Dead by Maia Wynne Link: https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Maiah_Wynne/Live_at_KBOO_for_A_Popcalypse_11012017 License: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ Fretless by Kevin MacLeod Link: https://filmmusic.io/song/3777-fretless License: https://filmmusic.io/standard-license Our Links: Website: https://themurderdiariespodcast.com/ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/themurderdiariespod Buy Us a Coffee: https://www.buymeacoffee.com/mdiariespod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/themurderdiariespod/ TikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTdgBwpV1/ Threads: https://www.threads.net/@themurderdiariespod Edited by: https://www.landispodcastediting.com/ Learn more about your ad choices. Great poets expand our view—of ourselves, of each other, and of the entire universe. Andrea Gibson was named Colorado's 2023–25 Poet Laureate for their celebrated verses on love, LGBTQ issues, spirituality, mental health, social justice, and more. In this podcast, Tami Simon speaks with Andrea about their approach to work and how their journey through cancer radically changed that approach. Listen now to this poignant conversation featuring Andrea's reading of their poem, "Acceptance Speech After Setting the World Record in Goosebumps" and exploring spiritual surrender, finding joy in every instant, facing challenges, moving through grief, the life force of the universe within us, self-love and loving the whole world, trying softer (not harder), the power of relaxation, identifying the keys that open your heart, staying with our fear, activism and loosening our attachment to desired outcomes, being yourself fully, the gift of mortality, giving the present moment the cold shoulder, why authenticity is the most important thing when it comes to writing, the pull of creativity, and more. Note: This episode originally aired on Sounds True One, where these special episodes of Insights at the Edge are available to watch live on video and with exclusive access to Q&As with our guests. Classic Ramble vibes this week! Lauren kicks things off by sharing a theory she recently learned about the adored and the adorer in relationships. We try to decide which one we think we each prefer to be in our relationships, but it's not as easy as it seems at first. We also talk about the way a person's voice can make or break how we feel about them, and we react to some saved voice messages. Lauren tells us why she loves Kylie and Timothée Chalamet as a couple. Naz tells us about attending the U.S. Open and her recent Esalen retreat where she learned all about her Enneagram number. We're going to talk a lot more about that next week. You can take the same test Naz took to find out your number here.Watch the ad-free video version of I Don't Get It over on Patreon!Find your forever pieces at jennikayne.com.
