So the 2022 Hawks have finished their season on an Extremely high note, beating the University of Kentucky Wildcats by a score of 21-0! The Hawkeye defense performed the way they have all season and what has been so natural for them all season with a dominant performance in forcing a shutout but also scoring 2 touchdowns! Cooper DeJean walked away with MVP honors for his performance as well! The Hawkeye offense looked pretty good at times with freshman and first time starter, Joey Labas running the show. Overall it was a good performance and this team looks to bolster some key areas this off-season.
The regular season has produced an opportunity for the 2022 Hawks to enjoy Kirk Ferentz's 19th Bowl Game as the head coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hawks take on the same Kentucky Wildcats team that handed the Hawks their 9th bowl loss under Ferentz in a 20-17 battle. The Hawks look to avenge last year's loss with a starting quarterback that hasn't taken a single snap from under center as a Hawkeye. It's gonna be an exciting showdown down in Nashville, Tennessee!
With the regular season now over, the Hawks now have to sit and wait to find out what bowl game they will be attending.
