The FINAL definition of vamp on the Merriam-Webster site says "Improvise, extemporize." That's the one we're using here. Not "a woman who uses her charm or wiles to seduce and exploit men," which is the FIRST definition. What the actual hell? On this Dorks Just Chatting, Chewie talks all about his newly-purple beard and his mom's stay in the hospital. Dirk has no idea when things happened and tells us all about a massive school program that eventually just...stopped. We discuss extracurricular activities in school (or our lack thereof). We reminisce about weird problems we had with old guests (or people who didn't become guests) in our ridiculously long history. We wonder at the UK officially preserving Badger Badger Badger, which leads naturally into...Nintendo Power and its comics. Naturally. Eventually this gets us to new editions of books that change words and titles, and that's where Chewie learned about the original title of Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. Owen Foxwell's basketball journey has already been unlike almost anyone entering college basketball. After spending the last four years playing professionally in Australia's National Basketball League, one of the top pro leagues in the world, Foxwell steadily developed into a high-level guard while posting career-best numbers this past season. Originally committed to Louisiana State University, Foxwell ultimately reopened his recruitment before committing to University of Wisconsin, giving the Badgers one of the most unique and experienced additions in college basketball.Foxwell's move to the NCAA has sparked major conversation across the basketball world, particularly surrounding his eligibility. Because of his professional background in the NBL and the fact that he went through the NBA Draft process last year when he became draft eligible, many questioned whether he would still be able to play college basketball. His path has created broader discussions around international players, professional experience, and how eligibility rules continue evolving in today's game.Despite all the attention and uncertainty surrounding the transition, Foxwell is confident his professional experience will allow him to adapt to college basketball almost seamlessly. Having already competed against grown professionals for multiple years, he enters Wisconsin with a level of maturity, physicality, and understanding of the game that few incoming players possess. With high expectations surrounding both Foxwell and the Badgers, his transition from the NBL to the Big Ten will be one of the most intriguing storylines in college basketball next season.

Sometimes, a story doesn't just stay a story — sometimes, something actually changes. Wildlife photographer Ian Wood returns to our Show with powerful updates following our first conversation. After winning the People's Choice Award at Wildlife Photographer of the Year with his now well-known badger image, Ian has continued to push the story forward — recently winning the documentary category at the British Wildlife Photography Awards with a six-image series focused on the badger cull in England. But this conversation goes beyond photography. We talk about what has happened in the months since — the major positive shift around the badger cull in the UK, the still ongoing discussions around fox hunting, and what it feels like to see something you've invested time, energy, and emotion into finally begin to move in a different direction. We also talk about the process behind building a documentary series, the importance of thinking in ideas rather than just images, and how photography can sometimes become a way to keep important conversations alive. Along the way, there are also the small moments — swallows returning in spring, building hides, lentil loaves and the simple joy of being out in nature. Grab a coffee, settle in, and join us for this wonderful conversation with Ian Wood.

Find Matt at Extra Points, and listen to our conversation here: * 0:45: Learfield, the college sports multimedia rights company, sold to a (new) private equity owner in a $2 billion deal. This is one of the largest deals in college sports history, but for what? Matt helps us understand the importance of companies like Learfield and its rival Playfly, and how they affect both our favorite teams and their financial statements. Will this deal change much about the college sports landscape, though? It doesn't seem like a slam dunk. * 19:45: The Trump administration's college sports executive order is fake and made up, but somehow, that's not the same thing as “meaningless.” It also might destroy any potential for a serious legislative solution to college sports' problems. Matt tells us what he's learned from Capitol Hill sources. * 32:37: Did the Big Ten office do a make-work for Wisconsin's AD so that the Badgers could get someone better in that job? The answer isn't “definitely not.” * 42:34: The NCAA makes an example of … Iowa. * 47:35: Audience question 1: What would be the pros and cons of media rights consolidation?* 52:04: Audience question 2: Which schools are doing fun and different things with their House settlement allocations?
