Episode 47 features 2-time WHL all-star, Colin Long. Long played alongside Leavold and former Art Ross Trophy winner Jamie Benn during the 07-08 season with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL. Long and Leavold drove to the rink together every day and were as good of friends as any Leavold has ever had. Leavold helped Long reach the 100 point milestone in the 07-08 season assisting on his 100th point in the final minutes of Leavold’s last WHL regular-season game. Long went on to get drafted by Wayne Gretzky when he was part of the Arizona Coyotes in the 2008 NHL entry draft. Long was actually selected 99th overall in the fourth round. Ironically enough. Unfortunately Long suffered multiple career-threatening concussions that almost led him to retire at the young age of 23. Long made the trip overseas where he still is today. Long still plays professionally finding tremendous success wherever he plays.
