The Detroit Red Wings finish their five-game road trip sitting second in the Atlantic Division — and the analytics show exactly why. Detroit currently sits around 51.5% in expected goals for percentage (xGF%) at both five-on-five and all strengths, signaling a team that's genuinely driving play and out-chancing opponents most nights. But dig deeper, and the cracks appear:Detroit's high-danger scoring chance percentage dips below 50%, and their high-danger shooting percentage ranks in the league's bottom third. Meanwhile, they're above 50% in both medium- and low-danger shot possession, meaning they're getting volume — just not finishing quality looks. It's a sign of a team that needs its high-end creators — Patrick Kane and Lucas Raymond — back to convert those elite chances. Even so, this year's 51.5% expected goals share marks a major leap forward for Detroit and helps explain why they're staying near the top of the standings despite average PDO and inconsistent goaltending. With three straight wins on the road in impressive fashion, the New York Rangers were up to their usual tricks at Madison Square Garden, losing to the Carolina Hurricanes in what is now their 4th shutout loss on home ice this season, and their 6th home loss on the season. It's difficult to stomach, especially considering they led in shot edge for most of the first and played arguably the best 12 minutes to start a period at MSG than they have all year. The good news? The team plays their next game on the road before heading back to the Garden for some much needed wins against two very beatable teams in the Red Wings and Islanders.Today's episode is sponsored by BetterHelp - use the link below to save on your first subscription!BetterHelp:https://betterhelp.com/broadwayblockInstagram:https://www.instagram.com/broadway_blockTikTok:https://www.tiktok.com/@broadway_blockYouTube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-4OSzH5NKz4EmhVCk0yaZgTwitter:https://twitter.com/Broadway_BlockApple Podcasts:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/broadway-block/id1646160199Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/show/3KqBFrqn7maexzAnVeqCUH

That's another one we don't know but are hopeful. Did Howard The Duck sing his own theme song? Shucks we never checked on that. So c'mon, be there -- we got long song titles, puns, lots of post-emo energy...and did we mention the long song titles?

Get the AI Coffee Club toolkit to start one at your own organization: Download here! AI isn't coming—it's here. Every organization is already feeling its impact, whether through new tools, shifting expectations, or the quiet panic of not knowing where to start. But most companies are doing what they always do: treating transformation like a plan instead of an experiment. And as AI reshapes how work gets done, the biggest risk isn't falling behind—it's automating the dysfunctions you already have. In this episode of At Work with The Ready, Rodney Evans and Sam Spurlin take their first deep dive into AI since 2023. They unpack why AI acts as a mirror for your organization's operating system, how hesitation and hype are both clouding judgment, and what it looks like to design meaningful ways to learn and experiment instead of performative roadmaps. -------------------------------- Ready to change your organization? Red Wings vs. Sharks NHL Betting Odds & Picks, 11/2/25 | Night Moves Show by Ramon and D'Andre
Alexis Downie, Emerson Etem, and Steve Carroll get us ready for Anaheim's matchup against the Detroit Red Wings from Honda Center.
The Detroit Red Wings' rollercoaster start to the season continues — but this week, it's all trending upward. After being booed off home ice, Todd McLellan's explosive timeout lit a fire under Detroit, leading to a six-goal comeback and a dominant 5-2 follow-up in St. Louis. Matt and Mike dive into what Max Bultman called “the night that showed both sides” of this team — one that can look disjointed and unstoppable in the same 60 minutes. We'll break down: McLellan's message behind the mouth-covered timeout rant and how accountability fuels this group Dylan Larkin's MVP-level start (8 goals, 8 assists through 10 games) and why he's dragging this team into relevance Alex DeBrincat's breakout and rediscovered rhythm The Edvinsson-Seider pairing's impact and the power play's resurgence The Gibson/Talbot goaltending puzzle and what it means for consistency Grand Rapids Griffins' undefeated start — John Leonard's tear, Carter Mazur's injury, and Nate Danielson's rise Heading into a tough West Coast trip (LA, Anaheim, San Jose, Vegas), the Wings sit second in the Atlantic with 14 points and the league's eighth-best record. The question now: can they turn this from a hot start into a sustained run? Timestamps: 0:00 – Intro & comeback recap 5:15 – McLellan's timeout and leadership tone 11:30 – Dylan Larkin's MVP campaign 18:10 – DeBrincat's goal and the top line's resurgence 23:00 – Edvinsson & Seider defensive dominance 28:00 – Gibson's good but not great start 33:10 – Griffins update & next-man-up talk 38:00 – Previewing the West Coast trip Red Wings Rant: Where tirades and impassioned pleas about your Detroit Red Wings finally have a home. WWP NIGHT w/ the DETROIT RED WINGS (Nov. 15th vs. BUF) TICKETS: https://www.gofevo.com/event/WingedWheelPodcast11-15 WWP NIGHT w/ the GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS TICKETS ON SALE NOW: https://griffinshockey.com/wwp All good things come to an end, as the Detroit Red Wings cut their win streak at 5 after losing to the Buffalo Sabres. Tune in as we open by discussing the loss in which J.T. Compher & Emmitt Finnie (from Dylan Larkin) scored while the rest of the Detroit Red Wings didn't do much else, as the absence of Patrick Kane and Lucas Raymond being injured disrupted the forward group, John Gibson didn't stand out, the penalties and errors from the best players in Edvinsson and Seider down to the bottom of the lineup in Rasmussen and Berggren all led to a loss to Colten Ellis, a rookie goalie making his NHL debut (4:15). We then discuss Todd McLellan's difficult spot with the forwards, as two key injuries means a lack of solid lines to utilize, how the depth players aren't seizing their opportunities, DeBrincat and Brandsegg-Nygard aren't offering scoring firepower, and what Steve Yzerman can do to help fix the issue (14:25). After that, Dylan Larkin's impressive start to the season (alongside Emmitt Finnie) & if it's a sign of new heights (30:15), Carter Mazur's hot start and Nate Danielson's path back (33:30), more on the Gustafsson, Holl, Hamonic trade rumors and what Steve Yzerman may do there (36:10), Max Plante's dominance in the NCAA (37:55), whether Michael Brandsegg-Nygard could benefit from joining Carter Mazer, Amadeus Lombardi, and soon Nate Danielson with the Grand Rapids Griffins in the AHL, or if he's better to stick it out in Hockeytown (39:35), and what to make of Alex DeBrincat's goalless streak to start the season (44:30). Finally, a quick look around the NHL (47:45) before we take your questions and comments in our Overtime segment (52:25) - enjoy! They take a look at the defenseman landscape to find replacements for injured Shayne Gostisbehere, discuss the surprising Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers and whether Emmitt Finnie has staying power for the Detroit Red Wings. Then, in "On the Money," the guys go through some leanings and prop angles for the rest of the week, including players who are overdue for their first goal of the season.
