The most amazing thing about books is their versatility. They have been used to record history, communicate new ideas, spark controversy, and promote peace. They have the ability to teach you a new line of thinking or to transport you to an entirely new realm. They are fundamental to human communication. And yet, only roughly 4% of the world's population actually takes the time to read a physical book consistently. Even though that's an astonishingly low statistic, that doesn't stop Craig Cunningham from writing; and from writing prolifically. He believes in telling stories that matter and has written for tv, film, music, and literature. He has directed films and commercials, worked as the editor-in-chief of a magazine, led creative teams for brands, served on a church staff, and worked as a pure freelancer. This week, Craig joins John to talk through his book One Night in a Thousand Years, the meaning of the title, his creative process, and why he believes telling stories is important.Purchase One Night In A Thousand Years:AmazonCheck out more of Craig's work:https://www.craigscunningham.com/Purchase the You Can Mentor book:You Can Mentor: How to Impact Your Community, Fulfill the Great Commission, and Break Generational Cursesyoucanmentor.com

From the 2021 PCA Trade Show, we talk to Craig Cunningham of Esteban Carreras Cigars When it comes to Esteban Carreras Cigars, the company tends to focus its energy on one new release a year, and that new release always makes its debut at the PCA/IPCPR Trade Show. In addition, the company remains quite tight-lipped on what that new release is until the doors of the Trade Show open. For 2021, Esteban Carreras's release commemorates ten years of the line that many will say put the company on the map - that cigar is the Chupa Cabra 10th Anniversary. On this episode of the Hockey Think Tank podcast, we bring on one of the most inspiring guests we've ever had on in so many different ways, Craig Cunningham. Craig defied the odds to make it to the NHL as an undersized player, but an incident while he was playing in the AHL for the Tucson Roadrunners changed his life forever. During a game, he suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed on the ice. Miraculously, he was revived due to the incredible work by doctors. Craig has persevered through that challenge, including losing part of one of his legs in a surgery, to be an inspiration to so many, including those he works with in player development. We touch on his recovery, but this was an AWESOME talk on hockey and hockey development. Craig is as passionate as they come about the game, and you are going to love this episode! This week I'm chatting to Craig Cunningham the Team Manager at Duotone Kiteboarding. The Canadian rider is one of the most stylish around and has had a stellar career within the sport. He's adapted and moved with the times and now spends a large part of his energy nurturing fresh talent and the riders on the team. Weirdly we get into some eerily true predictions about the outcome of this years GKA Freestyle Tour and how Valentin Rodriguez is his hot tip for the future, and then the 17-year-old only goes and takes the crown nearly ten months later!Enjoy!

Schwartz reports more young clients listening to the pod and getting called out on facebook for misspeaking last week - hater's gonna hate! Kitts provides a Munson update as he helps him understand faceoff positioning. ICYMI: The CWHL is folding but Toronto and Montreal will join the NWHL which the NHL "committed" to supporting. Ryan Poehling scored a hat trick and shootout winner in his NHL debut. Housley and Boughner were let go as bench bosses. And the boys recap the regular season stat leaders around the NHL before discussing and picking their winner for each playoff series. On Instagram, Schwartz poses the question who everyone would want to see in a fight, Robin Lehner drops an f-bomb on a hot mic before making a 7-year-old's day, and a dad breaks the glass with his wedding ring. Louis Domingue continues his post game antics and Elias Pettersson blows us away with a trick move that'll be nearly impossible to replicate. And for all the feels, Craig Cunningham, after losing most of his leg last year due to complications after a heart attack, skated with a prosthetic leg and custom skate contraption. What an inspiration. All before the boys talk about playoff Weekly Picks and play a round of Top Shelf Trivia.
Craig Cunningham says he's been on the ice a couple of times but never had a healthy stump or properly fitting leg. Craig says he spoke to the guys making his leg in San Diego and told them that it was important to him to physically dictate my own future. And by that, Craig means that if he wants to get into coaching or be on the ice, he doesn't want his own disability to hold him back.

With the National Hockey League (NHL) in the heart of its season, some diehard fans, and hockey players alike, are laser focused on game day. But is heart health on the upcoming winter schedule? Just as he was starting his career with the NHL, his dream was derailed after collapsing on the ice. Cunningham had suffered from a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), an abrupt and unexpected heart malfunction. Now back in the game as a scout for his former team, Cunningham is also working to raise awareness about SCA to help athletes, fans, and the public learn what they can do to come out ahead of a potentially deadly heart condition. On Thursday, December 7, Craig Cunningham and his physician Dr. Mathew Hutchinson, cardiac electrophysiologist with the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center, will be available to provide information about SCA prevention and the life-saving medical therapies available for those at risk of SCA.

Welcome to our newest WIIM Radio and the last one before Christmas... or Saturnalia... or Friday! This time around I’m joined by Kyle, Peter, and Lauren to talk all things Wings. Here’s the quick and dirty rundown: The Wings of Late - We’ve covered this in-depth a bunch of times, but the Ducks game was legitimately fun, so we got to talk about that. Aside from that, we cover all the parts of the fun and bad stuff. What’s going to happen as the team gets healthy? Are drastic changes going to happen? Stay tuned! Is the NHL not fun this year? - It might be harder to love the NHL when the team is struggling, but we discuss whether it goes deeper than that.Hate-watching/reading and our hateful digger - One of the Detroit beat writers has an axe to grind with a guy who deserves criticism to be sure, but not nearly to the level that’s coming out of the Freep lately.Positivity Corner - All the stuff we’re happy and thankful for, including a very special bit on Craig Cunningham.Reader Questions - I rocked this again. You set up up for us and we knocked ‘em the hell out. This week's podcast is dedicated to former Vancouver Giants captain Craig Cunningham. Craig, currently captain of the Tucson Roadrunners, had a terrifying moment Saturday night when he collapsed during warmup. The entire Pucks on net crew is thinking of you, Craig! A full bench on the podcast this week to celebrate the fact Evander Kane was not traded to the Vancouver Canucks and a full bench out to look for the positives following a less than stellar blown lead Saturday night vs the always good Blackhawks Ryan, Dave, P Mac and Geeta join you this week to talk about the busy week for the Vancouver Canucks. Fears of a big and for the most part, unnecessary trade for Evander Kane and the random return of Jake Virtanen to Vancovuer, only to be sent back to continue playing the AHL. Canucks wind up walking away from the Kane trade (the price was too high) and keep Jake in the AHL, so everything is right in Canuck land...for now. They also look at the quiet success of the Columbus Blue Jackets and how Torts has lead that team down the right path, and Matt Calvert's gruesome injury Friday night. Nothing like a puck in the face and an OT winning goal to keep you honest. The gang also talks about jersey fouls, whether a Canucks fan will throw a jersey on this year like Edmonton saw so many times in the past and if there's an NHL player would could be referred to only by his first name like a Brazilian soccer player. Finally, the gang nominate Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks quarterback, 'Dude Of The Week' for his efforts to bring the NBA and NHL to Seattle. Enjoy!

The Red label 50/50 came out in 2010, following the Black label in 2009. The Red is targeted to be more med-full in strength, while the Black is a full on powerhouse. A Nicaraguan puro with an oily maduro Corojo '99 wrapper & pigtail cap, the Red's flavors are rich & slightly sweet in the first half with some nice nutmeg & meaty core flavors, transitioning to bold & spicy in the last half. Not a completely different cigar, but definitely a serious complexity change. MSRP about $9 & worth every penny. Definitely more to my liking than the Oro or Platino lines, and in the running for the best new cigar from this year's IPCPR! CAO LX2 Gordo, 6" x 60 - Domincan & Nicaraguan ligero fillers in a dark maduro Nic wrapper. Lots of leather, coffee and earthy tones. One of the few large ring cigars that I feel highlights the blend better than the smaller ring versions. Still,....too big for me. We the People, Corona - A very nice cigar made by El Titan de Bronze for Bidwell cigars, We the People was introduced in 2009 and is packaged in a patriotic fervor - the band and box harken back to the founding of the US and the signing of the Constitution. Wrapped in a light Connecticut leaf and mild-med in body & strength, it has sweet grass and toasted nut flavors that go great with morning coffee. Augusto Reyes Signature - Sour, flat and very disappointing. What else you been smokin' - Bob La Carolina - A much better smoke than I anticipated Alec Bradley MAXX Connecticut - 56 rg with pleasant creamy smoke and wonderful flavors of nuts and leather. A very nice smoke. Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva - an exceptional cigar in a Churchill size that reminds us that it does not have to be new to be good. Classic aged tobacco flavors, excellent burn and pure pleasure to smoke. Dark Side - Trinidad Reyes

Presentation: 2 Layers in a Box of 25According to “An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Post-Revolution Havana Cigars,” this brand is believed to have been created in 1928. Initially it was called “La Flor de Marquez,” after Marquez Rafael Gonzalez, a Spanish aristocrat, and was distributed in the British Market. Later the Rey del Mundo Cigar Company acquired the brand and renamed it “Flor de Rafael Gonzalez Marquez.”Production was temporarily discontinued in the early 1960’s. In 1965 the Rafael Gonzalez was resurrected by the Rey Del Mundo Factory (now called the Romeo y Julieta Factory) and is still primarily produced by them today. In the 1990’s, the brand was produced in a limited quantity and was very difficult to find. It is considered a high-end brand with floral, herbal, mellow woodiness and honey sweetness as the main flavors and a mild tobacco taste.Herf line submissions: This week Angry Bill called about the death of Alejandro Robaina. Taking off the band removed the wrapper. And not a little-the whole wrapper began to unravel. New blend had some spice but was also a little harsh; overall not as enjoyable as the old blend. Burned too hot and tasted too harsh. Made in Nicaragua by Pepin Garcia.CAO Barizillia - Wrapper from Brazil and everything else from Nicaragua; pleasurable smoke with nice spice and a solid ash. Respectable and yes, I would buy another one. What's My Band? - #910 from Liz: Rocky Patel Vintage 1990Music provided by 25 Smokin' Figurados and The Surfonics
